Chapter 1: The Beginning to an End

It’d been 6 months since May died, and today? Today had been a bad day for Peter. He missed his train to school, making him late. And just a few minutes after lunch started, Flash had dumped his lunch on Peter.

“Hah!!! Take that, Penis Parker!”

Flash mocked as he and his friends doubled over in laughter and everyone stared at Peter.

Peter could feel his breath become unstable, shaky and panicked. Out of frustration of the moment, Peter landed a solid punch on Flash. Square in the face, and in the heat of moment, Peter forgot about his enhanced strength. Flash cried out as he gripped his nose which furiously bled from both nostrils as his friends quickly bent down to see if he was okay.

The brunette stood frozen, panting heavily with fear, all eyes on them. Even Ned’s and MJ’s. He stood frozen as a few teachers rushed over, kneeling to check on Flash before briefly helping him up to take him to the nurses. Peter gotten a glimpse at Flash’s bloody face, his nose was crooked and definitely broken.

“Peter!!!! Principle’s office, now!” A teacher grabbed the boy by the arm, dragging him to the office as other student gossip and whisper to one another. Ned and MJ look at each other with concern before sitting back down at their table.

“Why on God’s green earth would you do that, Peter?!” Mr. Morita, the Principal, asked with frustration evident in his voice. “He- Flash, he was making fun of me!” Peter swallowed hard, cold sweat running down his back as his body lightly shook.

“Flash kept calling me names!”

“And-And he dumped his lunch on me! And what? You guys do nothing?”

Peter scoffed softly, holding back the tears that threatened to spill from his eyes. Mr. Morita sighs, taking his glasses off and interlocking his hands on his desk.

“We’re going to have to expel you, Peter. I’m sorry but there’s no other choice.” Peter’s heart froze the moment those words left his Principal’s mouth, his heart skipped a beat.

“E-expel? Mr. Morita, please, i-it was an accident! You don’t have to do this!”

Peter panicked, his breath quickening hyperventilation as he pleaded with the man, who shook his head at Peter’s pleads to not expel him. “I’m sorry, Peter. We’ll be emailing your Aunt about this. This’ll be on your permanent record.”

Mr. Morita had said softly as he looked into the brown eyes that were now glossy with tears that stung Peter’s eyes. “I- I.. I can- You can’t do this! Please!” Peter pleaded his case as the Principal kept shaking his head and trying to console an upset Peter.

Later that night, Peter arrived to his late Aunt’s apartment. Letters of due rent notices piling up. And today, the final letter came. The eviction letter, it was official. Peter was a nobody, just another homeless teen people batted their eyes to as they walked by on the streets. The letter had Peter on the ground, sniffling. Tears that slid down his face, wetting his shirt as he softly cried for Aunt May to come back, for her to hold him and tell him everything will be okay. That this was all just a bad dream. But Aunt May never came, and this was reality. It was only later that night did he start packing his stuff. Just whatever he needed and what he could carry. His eyes stung with tears, his face tear stained. And later that night? He spent all night, trying to find a place that he could live in.

It wasn’t until a week later, he found a small shelter on top of an abandoned building, it was isolated. He began to settle in, making a makeshift bed, and trying his best to cover up from the cold. Spiders don’t thermoregulate well in the cold. Peter’s mind drifted as he tried to sleep. His mind passing by the memories of Uncle Ben, Aunt May. When things had been good. It was a long night before Peter could catch a wink of sleep.
