Work Text:
Anon walked through the busy streets leading towards Ring, the live house her and her band used as their home base, mostly out of boredom. That morning Taki had asked to cancel band practice that day, and with no Taki that meant that getting Raana into the practice room and to stay was a nigh on impossible task, so everyone decided to just leave it until the next day.
And with everyone else seemingly busy, there wasn’t much else for her to do, deciding she might as well get a drink and see if any of her peers were about. But much to Anon’s surprise when she made her way inside the cafe section on the upper level of the live house she saw Taki working behind the counter.
It was mostly a surprise because Taki would only ever cancel practice if she had stayed up all night on a composition and gotten herself sick. So seeing her diligently working was a surprise, even if didn’t she look to be in the best state physically.
“Ehh Rikki, of course I’d find you here.” Anon said as she took a seat at the counter picking up a menu.
“And what is that supposed to mean?” Taki said the frustration in her voice already building because of Anon’s presence.
“Well you’re not sick and if you cancelled practice then that means you want some time alone and yet here you are working to keep yourself busy, you just cant let yourself relax for once huh Rikki.” Anon replied as she read through the menu, avoiding Taki’s glare.
“Why are you even here, is it just to annoy me?” Taki said as she grabbed the menu from Anon’s hands.
“Hey I wasn’t finished with that. I’ll have a jasmine tea, hot please.” Anon said smirking. “Actually I was here on the chance you would be, its rare for you to cancel so i figured I’d find you here.”
“So you’re bored then.” Taki replied dismissively.
“No I was genuinely worried, you hadn’t even responded to anyone’s messages.” Anon said pulling up the MyGO group chat on her phone showing Taki the screen of twenty or so messages. “So what’s actually up.”
“I have no reason to tell you anything.” Taki replied her glare growing more intense.
“Come on Rikki, its clearly eating you up inside.” Anon said as she glared back.
“I’m completely fine, end of story.” Taki said as she turned away from Anon to clean some glasses.
“Bullshit, your eyes are red like you’ve been crying all night.” Anon said pouting slightly at the difficulty of dealing with her drummer.
“Just leave me alone okay, I don’t wanna deal with this right now.” Taki said firmly, wiping at her eyes a little just out of view of Anon.
“Hmm…” Anon mused for a few moments before sighing and standing up.
Taki let out a breath of relief before turning and realising where Anon was going, she practically waltzed into one of the back rooms like she worked there.
“Ririko-san, I need to borrow Rikki for a few minutes, are the green rooms empty?” Anon asked Ririko, the manager of Ring.
“Yeah of course, there’s no one playing for a while, don’t worry I’ll cover for her.” Ririko replied with a smile, fully used to Raana’s regular abductions of the drummer.
“Thank you Ririko-san, you’re the best!” Anon said as she left the back room and walked behind the bar.
“Hah?!” Taki said instinctively as Anon grabbed her wrist firmly and started walking out of the cafe with Taki in tow, as the darker haired girls attempts to free herself amounted to very little.
They made their way down the stairs, into the band areas and towards the stage, entering one of the several green rooms where Anon finally let go of the other girls wrist.
“What are you even doing, I have work to do you know.” Taki said, the irritation in her voice clear.
“Because you wont tell me what’s wrong, besides you didn’t even start making my tea so you’re clearly not that focused on your work.” Anon said as she turned around and looked into Taki’s eyes. “Anyway, you wouldn’t say what it is regardless because there was others around right?”
“I told you there’s nothing wrong.” Taki said stubbornly, Anon was right, this was something she wouldn’t dare say in public.
Several seconds pass by as Anon continued to give Taki a look that said we’re not going anywhere until you tell me.
“It’s about Tomori… I… finally told her I liked her…” Taki said nervously, Anon didn’t say anything but sigh gently in response. “Hah?! What is that supposed to mean?” Taki said irately.
“Nothing I just… have a good idea where this is going.” Anon replied softly.
“So I confessed to Tomori and she said she liked me too, but y’know it’s Tomori so I told her that it was in a romantic sense and then… she told me she had been dating the stray cat for months now…” Taki said looking like she was about to burst into tears again.
“Yeah…” Anon said knowingly, giving Taki the best look of sympathy she could.
“You knew already huh?” Taki said depressively.
“I mean, the same thing basically happened to me a while ago.” Anon said with a shrug.
“So was I the only one who had no idea…?” Taki said dejectedly, after all the time she spent looking at Tomori, not realising something so fundamental.
“I mean neither of them are the type to flaunt a relationship, Raana-chan’s affections just feels fairly normal, and Tomorin was surprised I didn’t notice, which shows the difference in what she considers public displays of affection.” Anon replied with a shrug.
Taki walked over to the couch in the green room, her face a mixture of depression and dumbfoundedness. “I don’t know if it’s better or worse that I lost to the stray cat instead of you…” Taki said sighing.
“Hey come on we’re both the ones who lost there.” Anon said giggling a little earning another glare from Taki.
“I just… feel lost now, like I had been chasing Tomori this whole time, and now everything has kind of lost its meaning. I want to be happy for her, she’s seemed happier lately, but every time I think about it I just, feel empty inside.” Taki said as if trying to will the words to leave her mouth.
“Yeah, it’s not easy.” Anon said joining Taki on the couch, tentatively placing a hand on her shoulder in an act of comfort, half expecting to be thrown across the room for it. “If anything, I’m just glad you were able to convey your feelings rather than sitting on them forever.”
“Well I’m not happy about it.” Taki said grumpily. “If I just didn’t say anything then nothing would have changed.”
“Nothing has, or is going to change, it didn’t with me and her, were still just as close, it wont with you. Besides its not fair on yourself to blame your own feelings let alone deny them out of fear, I thought our whole thing was not running away” Anon said pointing at Taki.
“Still, you cant blame me for being scared…” Taki replied, clearly struggling with the earnestness of the conversation. “Does it ever get easier.”
“Not particularly, but y’know, seeing the people that I love be happy is more important than that.” Anon replied stretching her arms. “Well at least were in the same boat now, just two girls unlucky in love.”
“Huh? I thought you had a thing going with Soyo.” Taki replied confused.
“No Soyorin has something going on with Mutsumi-chan, I’m not sure even they know what to call it.” Anon said.
“What? I thought Mutsumi was dating Umiri and Yuutenji?” Taki said her confusion deepening.
“No that’s Mortis, Geez Rikki do you not pay any attention to your friends relationships?” Anon said sighing and shaking her head.
Taki held her head in her hands, her world view coming crashing down realising just how many of her friends were dating each other.
“So what, am I just doomed to be a relationship-less loser for the next however long.” Taki said seemingly drained of energy.
“Hey what would that make me??” Anon said pouting, playfully hitting Taki on the side, but seeing the complete lack of reaction decided to be more serious. “Contrary to your attitude, you actually have a tonne going for you, it wont be hard to find someone, you just actually need to look at people who aren’t Tomorin for once.”
“Please, between school, work, composing and practice I don’t have time to meet anyone else.” Taki said as she looked down at the ground, gentle tears dripping onto the fabric of the sofa.
Anon stood up and moved in front of Taki, Lifting the girls chin as she leaned over, looking over Taki as if she was something she was thinking about buying in a store, before humming with approval.
“How about me then?” Anon said with a big fanged grin.
“Hah?! You cant be serious.” Taki said dismissively, eager to move on from whatever stupid joke Anon was playing.
“I am serious Rikki. You’re actually quite pretty, I’m obviously drop dead gorgeous, we have pretty good chemistry, we’re both painfully single.” Anon said putting her hands on her hips.
“We’re literally always butting heads, why would you ever want to date me.” Taki said glaring up at her, subconsciously taking an actual look at Anon’s face in a different light.
“I consider that more friendly banter, besides I do genuinely care about you, I don’t know if you noticed but I don’t exactly act like this around others.” Anon said pouting.
Taki sits there for several long drawn out moments, looking at anon but not quite meeting her gaze.
“Come on Rikki, what’s the worst that could happen.” Anon said firmly.
“The worst is that I would be dating you.” Taki said snarkily.
“Exactly, so why not give it a go, I’m tired of being single, you obviously need a distraction, if it doesn’t work out we just go back to normal, if neither of us go in with strong feelings then neither of us are gonna get hurt.” Anon said surprising Taki with how much she was trying to sell her on the idea.
Before Taki has a chance to respond Anon pulls out her phone and looks at the time. “Come on Rikki your breaks up, besides there will be plenty of benefits to dating, I can take you clothes shopping and get you something that will make you look actually cute, and in return you can make my parts in songs a little easier.” Anon said with a giggle.
“That’s the last thing that would happen, if we were dating I’d be on your ass about practice even more than I already am.” Taki said pouting as she stood up from the couch.
“That’s the Rikki I know.” Anon said joining her as they both made their way out of the room.
As Taki returned to her shift and finally made the tea that Anon ordered, Anon sat at the counter gazing at Taki, as the minutes pass by and the gaze continues Taki finally turns to her and asks.
“What are you staring at.”
“You, silly, just thinking about how cute you actually are, especially now that you’re blushing.” Anon said grinning.
“I’m only blushing because you’re staring, it would happen to anyone…” Taki said dismissively.
“Then I’m gonna keep doing it, its only natural that I’d want my girlfriend to look as cute as possible after all.” Anon replied her smile only growing more.
“Shut up, stop joking about that, and don’t call me that either, I haven’t even said yes yet.” Taki said her blush growing deeper.
After another hour and forty five minutes Taki’s shift was finally up, Anon had remained in her seat the whole time looking at the dark haired girl, occasionally looking at outfits on her phone and nodding to herself confidently.
“Why are you still here?” Taki said, confused as to how Anon hadn’t gotten bored and went elsewhere yet.
“Because I’m waiting for your answer dummy.” Anon said matter of factly.
“Idiot.” Taki said as she walked past Anon and out of the Cafe, the pink haired girl quickly joining her and walking along side her.
Eventually they reached a quiet park and Anon took Taki by the hand this time and drags her away from the street.
“Come on I wanna hear your answer.” Anon insists, still holding Taki’s hand, both girls painfully aware of the warmth radiating from each others palms.
“You’re actually serious aren’t you…?” Taki said looking Anon in the eyes.
“I wouldn’t joke about this, I genuinely think it could be good for both of us.” Anon said confidently.
Taki stood there looking at the pink haired girl for several moments before sighing and shaking her head.
“Fine, we can give it a go and see what its like. But, absolutely no word of this to anyone until were both absolutely sure that were happy with this.” Taki said finally pulling her hand away from Anon’s to point at her, knowing just how big her mouth can be and what her posting habits are like.
“Ehehe, its settled then, Ehe Rikki is my girlfriend!” Anon said triumphantly, keeping quiet enough to not immediately break what Taki had asked of her.
Several days had passed since Taki had agreed to date Anon, but they haven’t don’t anything relationship related the whole time, much to Anon’s dismay, she had planned and invited Taki out on various dates but the girl never said yes to any of them.
All of MyGO had gathered at Anon’s, as was customary when something needed all of them, their next live was only two days away and they still needed to figure out the set list, as well as several other details. After the work was finished Raana tugged on Tomori’s sleeve and both girls left, followed not to long after by Soyo.
As the door shut Taki packed away her tablet and stood up from the sofa, only for Anon who had been kneeling at the table sketching an idea for new band outfits to quickly stand up and push Taki back down onto it, straddling her lap, both girls blushing from the closeness.
“You’re not going anywhere, we haven’t been out on any dates, you refuse to invite me over because of your sister.” Anon said accusingly. “It’s been a week and all I want to do is cute girlfriend stuff with you.”
“It’s not like I’ve been avoiding you…” Taki said knowing she was lying.
“Well you can’t avoid me now, I’m not letting you leave unless you make me.” Anon said looking into Taki’s eyes, her heart beating loudly in her chest.
“C-come on stop fucking around Anon.” Taki stammered, a blush crossing her face.
“I’m not.” Anon said as she took off her glasses and cupped Taki’s cheeks not letting the girl turn her head. “You need to tell me to stop or I’m going to kiss you.” Anon said softly.
Taki’s words caught in her throat, her blush growing intensely as Anon leaned in and softly placed her lips against Taki’s, the kiss was brief, as Anon pulled away she looked into Taki’s eye’s, a smile spreading across her face, before leaning back down into another kiss.
And then another and another, four became six became ten, each deeper and needier than the last. Anon wrapped her arms around Taki’s neck, pushing her tongue into Taki’s mouth as the drummer surrendered to her, their tongues dancing together, saying a weeks worth of unsaid words and actions.
Finally Taki pushed anon back a little, panting heavily as she tried to catch her breath, both girls looking at each other as they both realised they had just crossed over the line of ‘seeing if it was something they both wanted’.
Taki took a deep breath before leaning up into Anon to kiss her, her arms moving to Anon’s back holding her tight into the kiss. Anon is the one to break off the kiss this time, Kissing along her cheek, against her earlobe before planting kisses down her neck.
“I’m gonna mark you as mine Taki~” Anon practically moaned as she sucked against Taki’s neck, nibbling it. Taki didn’t respond, only flushing hard hearing Anon use her actual name for once, but her hands were exploring, one held Anon’s head against her neck while the other hand moved lower, cupping the pink haired girls ass possessively.
Anon pulled away and giggled to herself marvelling her handiwork.
“Stupid idiot, what am I supposed to tell the others.” Taki said pouting.
“That your girlfriend loves you of course!” Anon replied giggling before capturing the girls lips in another kiss.
Both girls got absolutely lost in making out as their hands moved over each others bodies, Anons hips subtly rolling against Taki’s toned legs, their tongues fighting back and forth for dominance as they tried to explore each others mouths.
Both so lost to the act that neither of them had noticed the door to Anon’s room opening and the foot steps of three girls entering.
“Sorry, Tomori had forgotten something and neither of you responded to your messages so we came to se-” Soyo said as she entered the room, before stopping in her tracks, shortly followed by Tomori and Raana.
Anon and Taki finally pull away from the kiss to catch their breath before Taki glances over and freezes up.
“Anon…” Taki said nervously.
“Yes baby~ ♡” Anon replied with a lusty drawl.
“No, Anon…” Taki said motioning her head as Anon turned to see her bassist’s regular glare, Tomori’s look of wonderment and Raana grinning.
“Interesting women…” Raana said smirking, as Taki’s face turned bright red and Anon let out an ehe as she scratched the back of her head.
