Chapter Text
He was clutching the floor while shaking, the gems, his dad and Connie were watching. He closed his tightly. This was the last thing he wanted. Some pink tears started to flow from his eyes and landing on the floor underneath him creating a puddle that without his knowledge shined.
Suddenly he felt warm air hit his arms, making his hands relax. It felt...good. He slowly opened his eyes seeing pink grass and some white flowers underneath him and when he looked at his hands he realised he wasn't pink anymore. He stopped shaking and lifted his head to see his gem counterpart kneeling in front of him. It was stronger and his hair was longer, exactly how he looked seconds ago.
He stopped touching the grass and leaned back, now being on his knees. What was this place? He raised an eyebrow looking at the other for answers. "Mind" the pink one said with the same serious face he remembered. Mind? In his own mind? The gem nodded. "i had to stop you" They added with their hands on their thighs. Stopped him? Why? "Before we turned into a monster" they finished the explanation. So blunt...wait Monster?! The human flinched and his eyes went wide. "Yes" Steven frowned. He tough he was monster just before... He looked at his lap, his chest felt heavy.
"But i have a solution" The gem slowly put their hand on the human's hand and he looked ah them, his eyes shining. "You have to choose." Choose? Well if he had to. "Tell me" he nodded. Determined to fix himself. "Do you want to talk to the others to stop thinking you a monster or..." the brown-haired boy raised an eyebrow again. "Is everything ok?" he asked. Why did they stopped? "or...feel better automatically?" Even if the gem still looked serious, Steven saw how they were frowning ever so slightly.
The one with brown eyes looked at the grass again. The first option was good, he could get better, he smiled at the thought, but he knew he'd feel empty without anything to do or anyone to help. He gulped. Maybe it was better to..."Feel better..." he replied clenching his fists. He knew it wasn't the most healtphy choice.
The pink one grabbed both of Steven's hands. "As you wish" They smiled a little and one of his hands was placed on Steven's forehead making a pulling motion and making the human close his eyes for a second. Steven also smiled. It felt...warm? When he opened his eyes he saw that the gem had a bubble with a grey fog inside. He tilted his head. "What's that?"
"This is your bad memories" He explained motioning it forward so the other could see it better.
The human looked at it closely. He saw the time were he almost turned into a giant cat monster. All those cat head coming out of his body. He blinked and shook his head. He wasn't watching that. he looked away. "Got it" He took a deep breath. "So..?"
They made a stretching motion and created a necklace with the pendant beeing the bubble. "You have to wear this and not take it off" The pink one gave it to Steven. Why couldn't he take it off? "Because something horrible will happen if you do" they finished explaining. The brown-haired boy felt a shiver down his spine. Oh no...
He shook his head and lifted the necklace, trembling a bit. he wasn't going to do that. He putted it on and he felt a wave of...something...something he forgot. He smiled and chuckled, the gem did too, and just like that, he was back to the temple, kneeling down and surrounded by his the others, who were looking at him while frowning. "Wow, it's ok" he chuckled.
