Work Text:
Holmes was leaning rather heavily against the wall. Watson wasn’t sure if he would remain standing, and moved as quickly as he could to place a cane in his best friend’s hand.
“Dear me,” Holmes murmured, squeezing it tightly. “I fear that the nearest chair is an impossible distance from here.”
Watson frowned. The chair was several paces away, and his arms too shaky from pain to lift it, so he dragged it along the floor instead. “Here, Holmes.”
Taking his offered arm, Holmes lowered himself in. “Thank you, dear fellow.”
Rather winded, Watson sat himself. “It was my pleasure.”
