Jenn couldn’t tear his eyes away from the bouquet on the table. Under the moonlight, that was piercing from the window, the white lilies were as if vibrating with some living spirit. Some flowers were still closed, the buds long and slender. They were slightly puffed, hardly containing themselves at the seams, ready to burst open at any moment. The ones in full bloom were proudly taking the space around, showing the beauty of each petal to the light.
The light breeze coming from the window was slightly shaking the stamens of the blooming flowers. Its sweet scent was now slowly spreading in the room, entering its every corner and making itself the new constant there.
Jenn closed the eyes, inhaling deeply. He wanted to remember this scent. He wanted for the smell to enter the bloodstream, circulate with the blood and stay in his body forever. He exhaled and hungrily inhaled again. Even with the eyes closed the lilies were still there, behind the eyelids. But instead of the vase holding their stems there was a hand. Jane’s hand, fingers gripping the stems.
That how he met him earlier today at the university gates. One hand in the pocket with the other holding the bouquet, Jane was lazily leaning on his car. The white flowers were a striking contrast with the man being all in black, which drew even more attention than he usually did.
Jenn approached Jane hesitantly, afraid that he was waiting for someone else.
‘Jane’, he called him with a quiet voice, locking his gaze with the older man and then shyly lowering it to the flowers.
‘I brought them for you’, Jane said, handing them to Jenn.
‘Why?’ Jenn looked up at Jane again, accepting the bouquet.
‘They reminded me of you. So pretty’, he smirked, winking at Jenn.
Jenn blushed, lowering the gaze at the flowers again.
‘Let’s go. I get you home’, a hand touched his back, guiding him inside the car.
The ride was quiet, as Jenn’s mind was solely on the bouquet that was laying heavily on his lap. Jenn delicately traced the soft petals with the fingertips, breathing the sweet scent that was slowly spreading in the car. Then he moved to the centre – the pistil. Its head – stigma – was shining, catching the light from the outside. Jenn could not resist touching it, getting in the trap of the sweet sticky nectar of the flower. He started slowly thumbing it, feeling moisture under the finger. Then slowly traced down with the help of the index finger, smearing the sticky substance up and down. Jenn felt his cheeks heating, his breathing speeding up. He kept stroking the pistil, the air around filling up with more sweetness.
The whole pistil was sticky. The pollen from the stamens was clinging to it and Jenn just kept spreading it up and down. It was on the petals, smeared on Jenn’s fingers and even on his pristine white cuffs.
‘Jenn’, a hot whisper touched his ear.
Jenn tore the gaze from the flowers surprised by the voice. ‘Ha?’ he rasped, suddenly unable to make a sound. Jane was facing him, one arm on the wheel, the other behind Jenn’s head. He was close, his breath faintly brushing the younger’s lips.
‘We are at your home.’
‘Mm’, Jenn hummed, not fully grasping what was going on.
Suddenly a hot hand cupped Jenn’s left cheek as lips touched the other. Mind still foggy, Jenn closed his eyes, giving himself in to the man, who started moving lower to his neck. The kisses were feather-light, barely touching the skin. Jane was teasing, but Jenn could hardly breath, opening the mouth hungrily sucking the air in. He was squirming in the seat, the hand that was previously exploring the flower was now clinging to the hand on his cheek.
Jenn was on the verge when everything suddenly disappeared.
‘Go, Jenn’, smirked Jane, leaning to open the door.
The sound of a loud thunder brought Jenn back to the room. It was completely dark. Then everything was lit by the lightning, the flowers coming into vision again. They were shaking as the wind was blowing from the window. One more thunderclap followed shortly.
Jenn stood up to close the window. As he approached the bouquet, the smell became only stronger. He stopped by them, leaning down to inhale, slowly burying his face into the flowers. He felt stamens tickling his chin as the stigma smearing its nectar on his lips. Jenn couldn’t get enough of the scent, burying his nose even further right to the heart of a flower, wet lips brushing the petals. He took a deep breath, the scent so strong he tasted it on his tongue.
When gust of wind brought wetness with it, Jenn managed to tear himself from the bouquet to close the window. Drunk on the sweet nectar he limped back to bed on his trembling legs.
Jenn laid down, mind blurry and eyelids heavy, ready to fall asleep when suddenly he felt the movement on the bed behind him.
The sheets rustled as someone moved close to his back. A big hand circled his waist, finding its place on the belly.
‘Jane?’
Without answering, the body pressed itself fully to Jane’s back, the second hand coming under his neck.
‘Jane’, called Jenn again. There was still no answer, but the hand started slowly rubbing the belly in a circle movement. Shortly after the hand gathered the fabric of the t-shirt, letting itself touch the bare skin. Jenn gasped at the sudden contact, the stomach quivering as if trying to escape.
The other arm came to the shoulder, pressing Jenn to the body behind. It was hard. And it was so hot.
It became even hotter when lips slightly touched the ridge of the ear. The hand on the belly started moving again, now applying more pressure into the touch. The lips were moving along the ear, nipping it from time to time. The hand moved higher, firmly pressing to the body behind. And the lips moved lower, kissing the neck. Jane felt heat creeping to his face, his breathing becoming more elaborated. He wanted to escape, but the arms held him strong.
The mouth was moving on the neck, slowly sucking the skin, leaving wet marks behind. The hand moved to his chest, squeezing it tightly.
Jenn couldn’t bare it, hiding his face into the pillow. It was too much for him. He could barely breath, huffing. Wet kisses turned into bites, scraping the delicate skin with sharp teeth. The man sucked harder with each kiss.
The pillow was dump from the breathing and occasional split coming from the mouth. The man’s hand left no untouched place, the kisses became aggressive and urgent.
Jenn could hardly control himself. His hands were on the arm circling the shoulders, scraping it with the nails. He wanted to pray it away from himself. He wanted to break free and at the same time be as close to the man behind as it humanly possible. He kept the face hidden in the pillow, stiffening the moans. His arms restless, body squirming and legs tightly shut, rubbing themselves.
Jenn was caged, desperately trying to breath. The mouth kept abusing the sensitive skin. The hands turning tender touches into rough groping.
Jane thought that he would suffocate, sweat soaking his t-shirt, hair sticking to the nape. The hand started moving lower again, to his belly. The man pressed him to the body behind and then shamelessly reached under the elastic of the pants.
Jenn woke up abruptly, mouth open hungrily gasping for the air. His forehead was wet, the t-shirt was clinging to the body. The heart was thrumming in his ears. He felt headache creeping in as he tried to breathe through the nose. The aroma in the room was suffocating: the sweetness from earlier turned into a rotting smell.
Jenn turned the head to the window. The thunder was gone taking the dark clouds with it and the moon was shining in the window again.
The lilies were there on the table, dazzling under the moonlight, but now too bright for Jenn’s eyes.
He stood up rushing to open the window as the nausea was building in his throat. His legs were shaking and he almost tripped down on his way.
The fresh air burst into the room filing it with the smell of the clean air after the rain. Jenn closed the eyes, inhaling deeply. The fog in his head finally began to clear.
He went back to the bed not giving a glance to the flowers. And as he was climbing on the bed, the phone on the nightstand lit up.
‘Can’t stop thinking about you’, said the message.
