Chapter Text
1. Dorms
Harry was sitting alone at the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall, eating dinner absent-mindedly. Like most winter holidays, he stayed at Hogwarts. He loathed going to his relatives, a sentiment they returned with interest, and he didn’t want to impose on the Weasleys after the events of the previous Christmas, although they had invited him more than once. He was surprised when someone plopped down on the adjacent seat, and turned his head to see who it was.
“Hermione!? I thought you were at home with your parents. What are you doing here?”
She finished taking off her heavy winter coat, laying it on the seat next to her before replying. “My parents got a call informing them of an old friend who was severely ill, probably dying. As they had known him during their studies, they wanted to go visit, although he had moved to the States a year before I was born. I had no reason to join them, and I didn’t want to stay alone at home. I accompanied them to the airport and then took the Knight Bus to Hogwarts.”
Harry grimaced, remembering his bumpy ride on that bus. Hermione laughed. “It wasn’t that bad, you know, and it was much faster than a train. I had to walk from the gates to the entrance, though.”
Her cheeks and the tip of her nose really looked redder than usual, yet Harry thought she looked adorable, barely refraining from saying that. He didn’t think she would appreciate such a compliment. Instead, he asked, “Won’t they miss you at the New Year?”
She shook her head. “They’re only coming back a week after the New Year unless they need to prolong their visit.”
“You could stay with Ron. His family adores you.”
“Are you trying to get rid of me?” she asked, with mock hurt. She then added more seriously, “After the way he acted with Lavender, I’m not sure I want to be there, you know.”
“Not trying to get rid of you, really, but it’s quite boring here, with only some fifth- and seventh-year students staying. I’m the only sixth-year here.”
“Not any longer. I’m here as well,” Hermione said, smiling widely.
“I’m really glad you’re here.” Harry smiled back. He suddenly felt his appetite returning. He helped Hermione fill her plate, and they both ate in companionable silence.
“What did you do until now?” she asked while they were heading back to the Gryffindor tower.
Harry shrugged. “Not much. I finished our holiday homework during the first couple of days. I then decided to rehearse material from previous years, especially DADA, since we didn’t have many competent teachers of that. I even went to the library for a few hours each day.”
“You must have been severely bored,” she chuckled.
“Not really. I found some interesting books at the library, making me understand why you’re so fascinated with it. I still prefer flying over reading, though, yet the weather wasn’t supportive of that.”
“You make me proud of you, Harry. I was wondering if you’d ever grow up, but it seems like you’re doing just fine.”
“Without Ron distracting me, it all seems much easier.”
She grimaced at the mention of Ron.
They were already approaching the portrait of the Fat Lady. “I need to put my stuff back and use the loo. Please wait for me in the common room. I want to talk to you some more,” Hermione said when they reached it. Once inside, she bee-lined to the stairs leading to the girls’ dormitories. Harry just sat on “their” sofa, the one nearest to the fireplace. Nobody else seemed to ever claim that place, and the common room was almost empty, as the remaining students were studying either in the library or in bed.
⁂
Hermione returned a few minutes later, looking relieved, and sat at his side. “So, you’re the only one in your dorm, aren’t you?”
“Yes. There’s nobody to snore there and keep me awake.”
“There’s nobody in my dorm either. It makes me feel lonely,” Hermione noted.
“Why so? You have your own room at home, don’t you?”
She sighed. “That’s different. I always know my parents are nearby. Usually, the other girls in my dorm, despite talking too much, still give me a nice feeling of company. I don’t like sleeping there alone.”
Harry had a certain suspicion rising in his mind, but dismissed it immediately. This was Hermione. She wouldn’t even think such a thought!
“So, what will you do?” he asked.
She faked thinking hard. “Well… If you’re alone and I’m alone, maybe… we could be each other’s company.”
He was surprised by her answer. “Wh… what do you mean?”
She turned a bit more serious. “There are four unused beds in your dorm. I can certainly take one of them for the rest of the vacation. It doesn’t need to be near yours, and we can close the curtains when we need some privacy, yet still be together.”
“But… what about the bathroom?” he stammered.
“Since it’s only the two of us, we can manage using the attached bathroom. I can also use the girls’ one if I need to.” He failed to see the glimmer of mischief in her eyes.
“Well, in that case…”
This seemed to settle it. They moved the conversation to other subjects. Harry didn’t notice when Hermione moved closer to him, nor when she cuddled with him, resting her head on his shoulder or when he lifted his arm to her shoulder to allow her to cuddle closer. He only felt content, not even noticing how time passed. Eventually, he yawned, and Hermione did the same. “I think we should call it a night,” Hermione said. “I’ll change in my dorm and then come to yours. Be sure to be decent by then.”
She stood up, seeming a bit reluctant to leave her comfortable position. Harry stood up as well, noticing that his muscles seemed to stiffen where she’d been pressed so tightly. “Fine. I’ll be ready in ten minutes,” he said, hoping his estimate wasn’t too optimistic.
Harry first changed into his pyjamas before doing the rest of his preparations. He was barely ready when Hermione arrived, wearing a thick dressing robe over her sleepwear.
“Where do you think I should sleep?” she asked.
“It doesn’t matter. The house-elves made the beds and changed all the sheets,” he said.
“Then I think I’ll take Ron’s bed, staying closest to you. Care for a Goodnight hug?”
Harry couldn’t refuse it. He hugged Hermione just as tightly as she hugged him, becoming acutely aware of her breasts, which were evidently not held by a bra. Hermione didn’t seem to mind, though. As she released her hug, she kissed his cheek. “Goodnight, Harry.”
He was barely able to answer, trying to keep his body under control. “Goodnight, Hermione.”
She seemed a bit disappointed, although he didn’t understand why. He just moved to his bed and pulled the blanket. Hermione moved to the other bed, untied her dressing robe and folded it on the nearby chair, letting Harry enjoy the view of her sheer nightgown hiding very little of her body. Harry groaned silently when his body reacted to the view. She then slipped into bed and pulled the blanket, turning the lights off as well.
⁂
Harry found it difficult to fall asleep. The view before he closed his eyes was still haunting him, and his body was still responding to it, making it very difficult to relax. He could also hear Hermione breathing on the adjacent bed, evidently still awake as well. He wondered why he had never really thought about Hermione as a very desirable young woman, not even after seeing how impressive she’d been at the Yule Ball.
“Are you asleep?” he heard Hermione asking in a stage whisper.
“Not yet. Why are you still awake?”
“It feels wrong to be in Ron’s bed, and I don’t think the other beds would prove any better. May I join you in your bed?”
Harry felt a lump rising in his throat, making him almost unable to breathe. “Fine,” he managed to say after a short while.
He could barely see in the darkened room, and without his glasses to boot, but he noticed Hermione leave Ron’s bed. “Move aside a bit,” she told him, lifting the edge of his blanket.
Harry obliged. Hermione tucked herself in and shifted closer until their bodies touched, except for the thin layers of cloth between them. “This is much better,” she sighed contentedly.
Harry couldn’t say it made him any more relaxed. Her proximity, as much as he liked it, made his body react in ways he considered improper, and he didn’t want Hermione to be offended. There was no way he could hide the bulge in his pyjama bottom. He wondered how long it would take for her to notice it and reprimand him.
Hermione didn’t seem to notice, though, and she was still moving restlessly in bed. She tried resting her head on his shoulder. Both liked it, yet neither could find rest.
A few minutes later, Hermione sat in bed. “I think I know what we need to do,” she said. She grabbed her nightgown and pulled it over her head. Despite the darkness, Harry could see that she was wearing nothing else.
“I suggest you also take off your pyjama,” she told him.
“Are you sure? I mean… what may happen if anybody sees us or if…”
“Nothing will happen. Girls are allowed to visit the boys’ dorms, you know, and I don’t mind if this makes us more intimate. I actually feel like you’re the one who I’d like to rid me of my virginity.”
Harry felt hot and cold waves travelling in his body. He felt stunned and unable to move. Hermione wouldn’t relent, though.
“Harry, you need to take it all off. We won’t be able to sleep until this is over.”
He reluctantly took his pyjamas off, still feeling like he was in a dream, or maybe a nightmare. Once he was naked as well, Hermione covered them both and cuddled even closer to Harry. “Much better this way,” she said.
There was no more talking. Hermione rested her head on his shoulder and then directed his free hand to her chest, making him caress one breast and then the other, before moving his hand to the opening between her thighs. She left his hand there and started lightly touching his erection as if studying it. Harry groaned as her touches were bringing him too close to the peak, and she released him immediately.
They stayed that way for a while. Harry’s hand started studying her entrance and the folds around it, noticing it was becoming wetter as he touched different places. Realising that she really wanted this, he became a bit bolder, exploring around that place, finding the sensitive points by touch. Hermione spread her legs to allow him better access.
There didn’t seem to be any explicit decision, yet the reluctance and the timid exploration were replaced by decisive and purposeful actions. Without uttering a word, they changed position, with Hermione on her back, her legs wide apart, and Harry perched between them. He wasn’t sure when his fingers were replaced by his organ, nor when he started kissing Hermione’s body all over. He wasn’t even aware of penetrating her, taking her maidenhood, and she didn’t seem to mind. It all flowed perfectly as if it was something they had rehearsed many times over until they both reached their peaks in an explosion of physical need and desire.
When Harry came back to his senses, he found himself still lying over Hermione, who seemed to smile blissfully, hugging him tightly. His spent member was still touching her soaked entrance. He felt perfectly relaxed and content. Somehow, he was sure that Hermione felt the same.
“Am I not too heavy to stay this way?” he whispered in her ear, adding a kiss.
It took her some time to answer. “You’re not too heavy, love. Thank you for making this experience perfect.”
He was still not coherent enough to notice her wording. “Thank you for making this possible. It was perfect for me too,” he said.
As he became more aware of what he was feeling, his body seemed to react once again to the naked young woman on whom he was resting. Hermione felt his stiffening erection and was quick to make it reach its proper sheath. They resumed their previous activity with less urgency. This time, Harry tried to pay attention to all the points that he had overheard boys talking about in the common showers and to be more attentive to his partner. He enjoyed the way he was engulfed in her body and the way she was reacting. Despite taking it slowly, they were both too enticed to make it last for long. Soon enough, they reached another peak together. They then cuddled with each other and promptly fell asleep.
