Chapter Text
This is the story of how I died."
"Okay, okay, calm down. It’s not actually as depressing as it sounds. And to be fair, I’m not even the one who stays dead—Its more of an it's more of an... exaggeration to be honest.
Or a temporary state of being. Look, the mechanics of resurrection in this world are weird (even by my standards.), and honestly, my memory isn't exactly great anyway, so let's not get bogged down in the logistics of ghost-lore just yet.
Anyways enough about me You didn't click on this fic just to hear about me dramatically saying how I died do you?
No? Lets get on with the story. Now, to understand him—yes, him, we'll get to that—you have to understand the magic.
So this kingdom was built nearby, ruled by a perfectly nice King and Queen And there very cool Kids.
But one day The Queen got super sick while she was pregnant, the guards found the flower, made a soup out of it, she drank it, and boom. two babys were born a boy was born with bright, Beautiful golden hair while the girl was born with dirty blond.
They named them Tommy & Natalie. And to celebrate They launched a glowing lantern into the sky. And for that one perfect moment everything was fine.
until it wasent.
Some say it was kidnappers, some say a lone actor, or wicked sorcerers. But regardless of who you ask, they’ll all tell you the same thing about that late summer night: a cry rang out, and two princes' lives were lost that day.
The eldest prince was slain, the second eldest cursed, and baby Tommy was completely gone. The only thing left behind was a single compass on the nightstand, pointing straight at the twin sister still sleeping soundly in her bed.
The kingdom was completely mortified and deeply, deeply sad. The vibrant, chaotic life of the palace just... vanished overnight. To honor the tragedy and keep a sliver of hope alive, every single year on the twins' birthday, the King and Queen would light thousands of glowing lanterns, releasing them into the night sky, praying that the lost prince would see them and finally return home.
Now, fast forward 16 years.
An item that points directly to a missing prince—the one guaranteed to take the throne when he comes of age? That makes for one hell of a bargaining chip. And I knew a couple of buyers who would pay a pretty penny for something like that.
And me? Well let's just say what I did next was the worst idea in my life
(End of ranboos pov)
(No ones pov)
Ranboo was having a very wonderful day. Well Not really but you get the idea. I mean it wasn't his fault that his best friend left him by himself. Forget about the wanted posters around the village and the looks that people gave him he's under the Princess protection he's fine.
But right now, she's Doing something and he's by himself which is kinda bad considering Hes in a room filled with loot. Nothing's wrong with taking just a little peak.
Admittedly, he wasn’t the most inconspicuous. He was very tall and visibly not human. Which was fine Theres plenty of hybrids in the village but Rans a little different.
Well for starts, he's part endermen part something else. He may be really clumsy for his age but haveing teleporting powers also has its perks.
Like how he was able to wander into the treasure room, look curiously around at the busts of previous kings and queens, meander towards the center display, teleport behind the guard, steal the younger prince’s compass, and bolt through the door on the opposite side of the chamber.
Ya know, small perks like that.
Which was a good idea at the start but then the guard whipped around just as Ranboo clasped it in his hands. He winked at the guard then teleported away. It wasn't really his fault that they left the princes compass out in the air and one guard really?
Idiots.
Did he just betray the trust of his best friend and sort of sibling? Yeah. He does feel guilty but now's not the time to be guilty because right now, he's got 50 guards chasing him.
Ranboo took a sharp left, Then he saw his chance at escape: an open window. Launching himself out of it, he grabbed a hold of the rim and he could see the guards still inside.
Ranboo Started to climb higher, The Yells of “Thief, thief!” would be enough to make them catch on. "Great now how am I supposed to get down?" He groaned
This was a terrible idea.
Then, Ranboo Saw the roof which naturally was the best escape route. So, like any sane thief would do he wrapped his long leg around a pole and started to climb his way up.
Normally he could teleport but sometimes he would get really dizzy and it reallyyy wouldn't work so climbing it is! Once he got on the roof, he started to look for a exit rout but then he heard the sounds of guards coming up to the roof.
Gods why is his limit of teleportation such a pain in the ass? He Looked to see a massive thing of hay and without thinking he bolted and jumped yelling the hole way down.
CRASH!
He thankfully landed in the hay, but he felt like his ribs just broke. He stumbled out of the hay and started to bolt. Then someone yanked him back making him stumble back.
He turned to see Natalie who by the way was the youngest daughter of the queen and king. And She was glaring at him.
Then, they heard the sound of guards and screaming "Great now what did you do- You know what never mind I'll yell at you later come on!" Said Natalie looking like she wanted to kill him but couldn't.
Ranboo didn't need to ask twice He scrambled to his feet and ran right after Natalie as they Sprinted to the woods to hide. They quickly Hide behind this big wall, and they could hear guards pass by.
The Panic was Getting to Ranboo and he could feel a warble coming from his chest. Natalie must have seen it too because she clamped her hand over his mouth.
They both held their breath. After a few minutes they couldn't hear them. Then Natalie calmly punched Ranboos arm hard. "Ow, what was that for!" He yelped.
"What did you steal this time you idiot?!" Natalie Lectured Now pissed.
"Oh, um maybe-" Ranboo started and finished mumbling your brothers' compass."
If Natalie wasn't pissed, she would have been. "Ranboo I left you alone for 30 minutes to grab something and you think 'oh hey I'm just gonna steal my brothers compass cause I feel like it' Honestly what were you thinking?"
"Well-, I thought maybe I could maybe find the lost prince then all would be forgiven." Ranboo stammered looking like he wanted to dig a hole and die.
"And what would have happened If tech found out huh? He would kill you mainly me because I let you do that?!" Natalie pinched the brige of her nose deeply annoyed of this teenager.
"Look just next time please don't steal anything ok I don't want you to get killed." Natalie said looking at him still annoyed but with a stern look.
"Ok I promise." He responded as he got up and stretched. "Do you want to head back?" She asked also getting up. "Nah let's just walk it's pretty out anyways."
They started to walk through this deep and wavy path not really saying much but Ranboo did have a little limp. He thinks he twisted his ankle from the fall.
"You good Dude?" Natalie Asked breaking the slience. Right Ranboo completely forgot. "Eh it's just a bruise its fine see", He saw this big ivy wall that was massive. "Here ill rest on this wall to show you I'm fine." said ranboo acting confidently
Ranboo proudly leaned against the ivy-covered cliff.
Ranboo promptly ascended into the ivy-covered cliff.
Natalie watched as her best friend fall backwards into the cliff. The poor kid yelped as he fell onto his back. Natalie approached the ivy and pulled it back to find her friend looking dead on the floor. She snorted He looked like a noodle
"I totally meant Todo that." Ranboo said while trying to keep his chin high it would look like he was fine if he wasn't clutching his arm like he broke it. She gave him a amused smile and helped him up. "yeah Totally." she joked back then Ranboo turned at spoted something that made his eyes go wide.
"Um Nat? you might want to see this." Ranboo said as he walked more forward.
On the other side of the cave was this beautiful tower that stretched into the clouds. It was surrounded by massive stone walls that curved around the tower. "Woah." they both said at the same time mesmerized.
That's when Natalie spotted a light coming from the tower. "There! do you think there's someone home?" she asked. "I don't know should we find out?"
"Yeah, you go first I'll wait here." Natalie said. "What why me?" whined Ranboo. "you're a good climber I'm not just go you wimp." "Fineeeeee." Ranboo said with a groan. He grabbed two arrows from his inventory and started to climb the tower.
how high does this thing go?! Ranboo thought as he made his way up.
When he got to the top and climbed into the tower and plopped down was that the first thing he saw was how cozy it looked. Huh it looked like the fire was just put out and there was paper on the ground.
Maybe this person likes crafts?
He opened his notebook and wrote what he saw down because who knows when he's gonna forget. He has a really bad memory no one knows why, the only thing he could Remember was his name and he guessed how old he was.
That's when He thought he saw something blond run past him. He blinked confused.
Huh wonder what that was.
But Thats When He Felt Something Hard Hit him across the head and everything went black.
CLANG!
(Someone's Pov)
"Holy shit!-"
