I just wanna get to know ya

Summary:

Raspberry was counting down the minutes until she got off her shift. She just wanted to go home, turn on the T.V., and cuddle with her cat.

The café dinged as yet another customer strolled in for their caffeine fix. Internally groaning, she plastered a smile onto her lips.

“Welcome!” she called out cheerfully. “What can I do for you today?”

She made eye contact with the person in front of her, and her heart skipped a beat.

Work Text:

Raspberry was counting down the minutes until she got off her shift. She just wanted to go home, turn on the T.V., and cuddle with her cat.

The café dinged as yet another customer strolled in for their caffeine fix. Internally groaning, she plastered a smile onto her lips.

“Welcome!” she called out cheerfully. “What can I do for you today?”

She made eye contact with the person in front of her, and her heart skipped a beat. Right there, in front of the counter, was the most beautiful woman she had ever seen. Clenching her jaw to keep it from clattering to the floor in awe, she waited patiently for a response.

The woman purred, “I don’t know. Why don’t you tell me what you can do for me today?”

Raspberry’s cheeks caught fire like dry tinder.

“Uh, I, uh-” Her brain was foggy. Was this goddess flirting with her?

It was a miracle that Raspberry's habits from the endless cycle of orders from months of working at the café took over her stuttering mouth, and she said, “This month’s special is our caramel pumpkin spice mocha. How does that sound?”

The woman wrinkled her nose in distaste.

Eyeing her name tag, she smirked, “How about an iced raspberry cold foam matcha? And really pump those raspberries.”

Choking on air, she nodded and typed it into the system so Orange could prepare the drink.

“Can I get a name for that?” she asked politely.

“Strawberry,” the woman told her with a wink, and she tapped her phone to pay. Oh, god, Raspberry was done for.

Typically, this is where the interaction ended, but she was desperate to stay in Strawberry’s orbit. Thoughts racing, she searched for a topic of conversation, unwilling to let her go just yet. Her eyes caught Strawberry’s pink stiletto nails. They were two inches long and sparklier than a drag queen’s heels.

“Oh my god,” she said. “I love your nails.”

“Aww, really?” Strawberry responded, pleased, and displayed them so Raspberry could see the strawberry detailing better. “I just got them done yesterday.”

“I’ve always wanted to do them, but they look so sharp I'm scared I’m gonna cut myself,” she sighed.

The woman chuckled. “I get what you mean.”

“Here, give me your arm,” Strawberry asked, holding out her hand. Raspberry gave her her wrist, worried, but also slightly excited.

Strawberry met her eyes. Maintaining eye contact, she took her open hand and pressed her nails to the soft underside of Raspberry’s arm, before dragging them up and down. Goosebumps broke out over her entire arm. She tried to suppress a shiver, but knew she failed when she saw the smirk return to Strawberry’s glossy lips. Her luscious lips. They were quite distracting.

“See?” she hummed. “It doesn’t hurt at all.”

Raspberry didn’t think her face could get redder until Strawberry slowly slid her hand along her own, and fluidly released it. Their fingertips brushed against each other for a second, and Raspberry’s breaths shallowed.

“Yeah,” she squeaked.

With perfect timing, Orange passed her the finished drink, but it was slightly messy. Some of the foam had spilled onto the plastic lid.

Nonetheless, she handed the iced matcha to Strawberry. “Your order, ma’am.”

Once again capturing her eyes, Strawberry lifted the cup to her mouth and sensually licked the overflowed cold foam from the lid of the cup; it was a quick but deliberate motion.

Sipping her drink from her now clean cup, she deftly snatched a straw before winking at Raspberry one last time and sashaying away.

As soon as the doorbell dinged closed, Raspberry collapsed to her knees in front of the register.

“That bad, huh?” Orange laughed.
