Work Text:

"Odasaku?"

Oda blinks. Once, twice, then a third time. He is utterly certain that he was just staring at the— unfairly attractive —boss of the Port Mafia, who was explaining something about alternative universes.

So why then, was he staring at a slightly younger— two or so years by his estimation, but no less attractive —version of the man.

That thought about the Port Mafia boss' attractive is something that he will never say out loud. Absolutely and totally not.

Was this the past? No, it couldn't be, for he had no memory of this ever happening.

Ah…this must be an alternate universe then.

"Hm? Apologies Osamu," his mouth opens, but he is not the one controlling it— was he a passenger then, along for the ride? That must be the case. "I was lost in thought. What were you saying?"

The younger version of the Mafia boss, Osamu, frowns, tilts his head like a cat studying a particularly interesting mouse. "Odasaku," he says slowly. "Are you sure you're alright?"

"Yes."

"Really." He slinks forwards suddenly, hands grasping at Oda's face, and Oda hates how this version of himself is leaning into the touch. "Odasaku, were you hit by an ability? No, it couldn't be. It would stop the moment it came into contact with me. Odasaku," Osamu says again, eyes darkening. "I think you, somehow, have an alternate version of yourself stuck in your body with you."

Ah. The Port Mafia boss had clocked it far sooner than he had expected. Maybe he shouldn't be surprised, but he was.

"Do you think? What are we going to do about it?"

Was there even a way for him to get back to his universe? He doubted it. If there was, he is not sure he wanted to owe the Port Mafia anything, even in another universe. They were vicious when it came to debts owed to them.

"That," says Osamu, gaze still shuttered even as he kisses the corner of this body's lips, the jaw. "Is for me to figure out."

"If it's my alternative self riding along with me, should I not help?"

Ah. He had a sinking feeling that they were about to get sappy. He not even sure if he can look away, considering he was currently sharing a body with this guy.

"No, no, Odasaku. I'll handle it all."

"You know I can't say no to you."

"I know," Osamu chirps, leaning to kiss his— this Oda's —jaw again. Oh god, they were gross. "It's why I'm asking."

"You know Osamu, nobody's around…Ango's out doing something and the bartender is in the back…"

"Why, Odasaku, suggesting we do this in front of a different version of you…how scandalous of you."

"Well, he's got to learn how to treat his version of you well, doesn't he?"

"Oh Odasaku….you're a romantic, aren't you?"

"I do try, Osamu…"

He has to kill himself. He does not want to watch this. He absolutely does not want to watch them be utterly awful.

He has a feeling he is about to anyway, that he cannot escape it.

Awful. Awful. They're actually so awful, and he has to watch them be awful. The worst part about it is that he's pretty sure that this isn't the worst they can even get.

What did he do to deserve this? What in the world did he do?
