Pi’s POV:
I wake up at 7:00 am on the dot as usual. Still getting used to this whole structured sleep schedule thing, but we're getting there. After Euler accidentally destroyed the playground a few days back, I've been on Square Roots back CONSTANTLY trying to get him to help me pick everything up, and most importantly watch Euler. We seriously can't have them blowing up part of the playground again. I get why she blew up and all, it's just that SQUARE ROOT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE WATCHING HER!! when I get him I swear… Anyway, back on task. Morning routine time. Out of bed. Brush teeth. Go downstairs. Say hello to Square Root and Eule..
“Hi Euler!”
“oh! Hi Pi..”
“Hang on.. E, where's Square Root?”
“He went out to… I don't know actually. All he told me was he was gonna run some errands.”
“ when I get this him..” I muttered.
“I WAS SUPPOSED TO GO OUT AND HELP I AND HER VARIABLES TODAY! OH MY GOD” I… accidentally bursted out. *shit, I shouldn't have screamed like that right next to Euler…*
“He was also supposed to watch YOU during and after that, because I need to help I fix the damage around the playground.”
“Pi, I'll be fine.. don't worry about it-”
“No. Euler, I'm not leaving you alone again. I'm sorry, but someone needs to watch you, I need to find Square Root, and I don't feel comfortable leaving you with I again!!”
“Couldn't someone else watch me? Like thirtee-”
“Absolutely not. Thirteen’s awesome, but I'm not leaving you with someone whose luck is as bad as hers.”
“mm.. can't you just take me with you to find Square Root? And then he can watch me while you do whatever with I?” Euler countered.
Gotta admit, Euler has a point. I *suppose* she can come with me to find Square Root. It's not like she would be too annoying or anything. Just gotta keep. Her. On. Track.
Yeah.
I sigh and give a hesitant response.
“..Y'know what? Sure E. You can come with, as long as you stay with me.”
“Promise I'll stay right behind you.” She replied, honest about trying to stay with Pi.
I start to think about where Square Root might've gone. Then I remember, we need breakfast!
“Hey Euler, did you have breakfast yet?”
“No, not yet. Square Root said he would be back by now and make us food.”
Oh my fucking god, whenever I find him.
“We can stop at I’s quickly and grab some food from her. I don't have time to cook, and she always has leftovers.”
“Ok..” Euler answers.
She's probably not SUPER excited to go back around I and the variables again, but I can't really blame her. If I destroyed the playground in front of a group of people and partially because of them, I wouldn't wanna see them for a bit either, but I don't know where else we're gonna get some quick food.
Eulers POV:
I'm not thrilled about going back over to I and all her kids, but she does make some good food. I guess that has to count for something.
We start walking across the, honestly really demolished playground towards I’s house. I remember to stay next to Pi, as promised.
I'm just worried what they're gonna think of me after I literally destroyed part of the playground right in front of them. Just because Square Root wasn't there! I wish he'd just listen to Pi or keep up his promises, or- or ANYTHING!! What am I gonna do if something happens to Square Root? What if one day he's gone? For no reason? What if he just disappears, or stops taking care of me and Pi? What if, what if, what if!?
Suddenly, I snap out of my head when I accidentally run into the wall of I’s house. I should've been paying attention.. Like, what if something fell on me? Or I landed on something- ok. Nope. Shut up. No more ‘what ifs’. Not until we find Square Root. Then he can help me.
Pis POV:
Eulers been doing a good job staying next to me. A bit quiet, but thats not too out of the ordinary for her.
*crash*
I heard a LOUD crash. *where did that come from? Is E ok? I should check.*
I look behind me, above me, to one side, then to the other side. Then i see that shes ran into the wall.
“E! Are you ok?”
“yeah, yeah. Im fine.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah, just, uh.. hit my head..”
“Alright.. I can grab food if you wanna stay out here?”
“That sounds fine”
I walk in, greet I, and ask if I can take some breakfast leftovers from her. She quickly agrees and hands me 2 breakfast sandwiches, which just happens to be one of Eulers favorites. I head out the building and hand Euler their sandwich, which she quickly eats. Now its time to figure out where this guy could possibly be..
“You said he was ‘running errands’ right? Any specifics at all?”
“No., Not really, just said he would be out of the house for a bit ..”
“Well, do you have any ideas for where he might be?”
“He could be getting food or something..?”
“True,, we can check the grocery store first, it's not too far off.”
Euler nodded and trailed behind me, just humming and occasionally asking me something like normal. Eventually we make it over to the first area of suspicion for Square Root.
I open the doors of the grocery store and walk in trying to not look urgent. Even though I am. I'm supposed to be helping I in like.. 30 minutes.
I grab Euler's hand to make sure they stay behind and start half walking half jogging through the aisles. So far, no sign of him. Amazing.
We've ran through the entire store. Not a singular glance of him. I think it might be time to check somewhere else.
“Euler, I think we gotta check more places….”
As I look at her I see her pointing across the store to the entrance. I look at her confused.
“What?”
“Square Root was right there.”
“Well, HURRY UP! We don't have any time to waste.”
I run across the store to the entrance and quickly dash out the door. In the distance I think I spot him. I speed up to catch up to him and hopefully drag him back home so he can watch Euler.
Eventually, I manage to get to him, making sure Euler is still right behind me.
“SQUARE ROOT!!”
“Ohh.. hahah hii Piiiiii”
He pulled me up into a hug.
“Missed me didn't ya?”
“No..”
“Yes you did,”
“Ok fine. MAYBE I did. BUT YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE AT HOME! WATCHING EULER! I TOLD YOU I HAD TO HELP I TODAY!!”
“See, you did miss me.. And sorry, I didn't think I would be out this long.. I ended up getting stuck with a few people l used to know, and time caught up to me,..”
“oh my god it's fine I guess. But. You HAVE to watch Euler next time. No side quests without telling me.”
“mm.. ok!”
“Now we have to go back home. I'm already late to help I.”
He put me down and grabbed my hand and started dragging me along, all while I was making sure Euler didn't get lost.
“Why didn't you leave her with I?” Square Root asked me.
“What kind of question is that?”
“OOHH. I might be a little dumb with that one..”
“Might?”
Square Root fondly rolled his eyes and giggled.
“Come on!”
