Work Text:

Today is the day I die.

How beautiful, is it not?

Other robloxians would think not.

"Suicide ideation" they would say,

It's pathetic, I am, that is.

I idealise death so much, people no longer bat an eye

My father believes it's just a phase,

Maybe it is

maybe it's not.

None the less, I am dying today.

No one can stop me, I've made my mind

Today is the day I die.

Something unusual happened, not that I care

Seven came in to the pizzeria,

He apologised.

I stared at him, quiet, waiting

I knew it was some joke.

He looked at me dumbfounded

I stared back.

He left in a huff.

Today is the day I die.

I clocked off late again,

It doesn't matter if I don't get paid overtime

I won't be here for my next paycheck anyways.

My little sister came in

Mia,

She told me she was going to hang out at a friend's,

I smiled.

Good.

She won't have to wonder why I'm not home yet.

She ran off happy, my smile brightened

Today is the day I die.

I didn't take my bike, I walked.

I walked to the railway near the outskirts of the city.

I sat down on the rocks,

Now I had to wait.

I sent my father a text.

"I love you."

It was simple, like our life.

I was typing to my sister

I paused

I then deleted it.

I stared down at my phone

I couldn't hurt her like this

"I'm sorry."

I whispered to the air like it would carry the message along.

It didn't.

Today is the day I die.

I heard the train,

I smiled.

I sniffled.

I cried.

I was sorry, to everyone I wronged, I hurt, I spoke to.

I watched the lights of the machine come closer until it illuminated against me.

My smile cracked.

A frown.

Then a bigger smile.

I closed my eyes.

Today was the day I was meant to die.

A hand grabbed me,

I froze.

My smile fell.

I felt warm hands hold me,

A familiar voice shushing me as the train past both of us.

I wanted to pull away,

The hands did not.

I was held tightly against the person.

A tail wrapped around my legs.

I paused,

My crying stopped.

I saw red,

I saw black,

I saw purple.

I saw a face, faces.

Concern written on them.

They didnt let go of me.

Not until my phone started blowing up with texts.

Today was the day I was meant to die.
