Immunity

Summary:

Roswo has a tendency to disappear for long periods of time. He usually comes back hit it’s always so frequent. It’s always so hard to get a hold of him.

Though recently it’s gotten worse.

Notes:

I’m aware of the controversy and the series ended but I’m hyperfixated and this is more taking the characters than the people themselves.

Again, I do not support Roswo’s actions.

If I do any more stories in the future for Builder Bros, I am gonna replace Roswo with an OC to avoid me seeming like a racist and supporting him.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

“If he coming?” Wykull leans over Blake’s shoulder as the loading message to show the other was typing though after a couple minutes, it stopped.

”No, he got sick again and I’m pretty sure he just fell asleep at his phone. He smiled nervously

“This is the third time this month!”

”Fourth…” he huffed. This wasn’t out of the ordinary to happen, it was just annoying when it does happen.

”When was the third?”

Blake turned his phone off to save the battery since he forgot to charge it last night. “Two weeks ago. It was when we hung out instead.”

…

”I still think he’s just s avoiding us.” He grumbled.

”He doesn’t seem like the guy who’d avoid us…well, except you but he’d make it very obvious if he was avoiding you.” He sighed, “Besides, We’ve both seen him when sick. It’s not great…”

Wykull huffed, “Fair enough. Fish’s investigation always proved Roswo being actually sick or at appointments.” He rubbed the back of his neck.

He put his hands on his hips, “It doesn’t help that he never tells us anything. Like, we didn’t even know what he was until Zizzo told us!” He was a bit annoyed but also hurt as someone who was supposed to be their friend just kept leaving them in the dark about everything.

Roswo was just face planted in his bed, his phone and arm above his head. He knew Blake texted him back but he doesn’t have the energy to do anything. Never actually did have the energy for much. A part of him wondered why they were even friends with him. He’s barely around especially during spring, fall and very much in winter…he’s mainly active in the summer since the only thing that throws him off is the heat. Besides that, he’s never around…

Why did Scliff have to introduce him to these guys? He knew his condition and especially now with everything that’s played out, they aren’t one the greatest terms. Barely talking and only hanging out when someone else is there and wants them to be.

Huffing, he forced his body against the head rest. Looking at the message on his phone…”Do you need anything?”…

Nothing that he can give…plus he made it clear he was uncomfortable with the stalking and whatever….Roswo probably should’ve stopped before it started to strain their relationship…

Damn…probably shouldn’t have slept in my binder again. He sighed before using the nightstand to get up, stumbling a bit as a wave of nausea hit him…shaking his head he reached over and grabbed his shirt before falling backwards in bed.

”Oomph!”

yeah he was not gonna take his sweet time sitting back down. Too much energy that he didn’t have. Taking a deep breath, letting the dizziness settle down before sitting up against his wall and taking his binder off and taking a sigh of relief. I forgot how easy it is to breathe without this dumb thing….

Putting this shirt on, it had Hello Kitty Island adventure on it. At least it was easier to-

GURK-

he jolted and leaned over the trash can before throwing up….

BLECH!

He huffs, catching his breath…”My fucking yogurt…” he mumbled, he is so used to this feeling that he was more upset over losing his food over actually throwing up. Mainly because most of the nutrients he gets is from medication than actual food. Can’t stomach a whole lot….never could. Though he can force himself too. With the after affects of feeling like shit later.

Faceplanting back in bed, he’d just rather sleep until the feeling goes away. Not like it ever does.

Blake tapped his finger against his phone nervously. Wykull couldn’t help but notice. He peered over Blake’s shoulder trying to read the messages, though he couldn’t much of what was being said….something Something…eh whatever…but it is bothering his homie so.

”What he say?” His fin twitched a bit in confusion.

Blake took a deep breath, “He just told me to leave him alone..” his bit the inside of his cheek. Something told him that something was wrong. Roswo never tells him this. He never talks to him like this….

”….we sure he ain’t possessed?” His expression became a bit nervous.

”I don’t think shadow’s can get possessed…..Maybe we should ask Scliff, he knew him longer than we have.”  He looked over at the siren with a concerned look.

….

”Probably best bet. We honestly don’t know crap about him. Like, didn’t we have to force his birthday out of him?”

”we tried….uhh…Zizzo is actually the only one who knows apparently.” He mumbled….both him and Wykull tried to find out his birthday since when they originally met he said he was 17. He’s now 18 and had no clue when it happened. Not even Scliff knew when it happened but Zizzo apparently knew since she said she hung out with him on her server. That doesn’t limit it down one bit…

“Damn.” Wykull was shocked, he assumed that they did find out but apparently not. “Well, you call him on the way. We’re going to talk to him.” He was now irritated. So many things he refuses to explain. He’s gonna answer to them whether he likes to or not.

Landing on the red bricks of the home, Scliff popped off his elytra and took a deep breath. Getting a phone call about Roswo wasn’t something he planned but it was inevitable. He had a feeling people would want answers for his secrets. I mean, the guy hides everything! His species, birthday, interests even his gender! No one outside the main group even knows Roswo is transgender. It doesn’t help that he’s clearly insecure about it.

Shaking his head, he sighed. They haven’t been on good terms for some time now since they betrayed and hurt eachother, but he’s not gonna ignore Roswo’s health, for a guy sick most of his life, he’s really bad at remembering to take his meds. Whatever, he’ll at least check in and wait for the other two to arrive. Shouldn’t be too bad….right?

Roswo did change his locks to a keypad recently since he kept forgetting his key at his place….yeah….

Bury the body.

He was curled in bed, coughing and exhausted. Sleep was definitely not something he was getting……with his stomach hurling at anything he ate or drank, his head spinning like someone spun really fast on a merry go-around…well probably, he never actually been on one. But this is probably what it felt like.

His wings that were like miniature bat wings shifted bigger as it wrapped over himself in a protective way. God he hates this feeling, he hates how normal this is to him….but dealing with it alone wasn’t out of the ordinary. He was always sick….stupid body….first it was born as the wrong thing then it struggles to survive….

….

His body jolted hearing the faint sound of a door knob squeak before a silence returned…

… someone was here?

.

The door could be heard gentle closing before footsteps grew closer then a pressure was placed in front of him on his bed.

”Hey….” His voice is familiar…..an old friend, “How you feeling?” His hand hesitantly touched one of the shadowy whisps coming from his hair…not really touch, can’t exactly touch a shadow.

….

”Mnnn….like shit..” he mumbled with his voice raspy and just filled with exhaustion….”W-why are you here?” His wing shifted slightly, letting Scliff be able to see him a bit.

“Blake called. He’s worried about you.” He sighed seeing the bit of Roswo’s expression…., tired…. “Have you taken your meds?”

….

…”I’ll take that as a no..” he sighed standing up, “Where did you put them?”

Roswo took a deep breath and mumbled, “Bathroom, top shelf….bottles should have cherry blossom stickers on them.” He shifted to his back and put his hand over his eyes..

…..

Scliff made an awkward face, “Did you seriously decorate your meds?” He smiled a bit at how dumb that was.

“So what? Let me at least have somet-“

his body jolted as he leaned over the trash and threw up, though there wasn’t much besides water…barely even that…

Scliff rubbed his back while he grimaced at the vomit…..”I’ll get you your meds, and more water. Probably see if you got ginger ale or something.” He sighed as he helped him sit against the wall though his hand phased through Roswo’s upper arm making him have to readjust him.

Roswo wiped his mouth and huffed, “T-thanks..” he tilted his head back and closed his eyes. “Can you uhh….turn on my fan?”

”Please?” His wings shifted to their smaller shape and to a wispy shadow.

Scliff went over to the box fan in a corner and put it on a chair and plugged it in before turning it on.

“Do we have everything?” Blake looked towards where Wykull was with a soft smile.

”Uhh…what’s on the list?” He gave a Blake eyed stare….not a thought behind those eyes..

Sighing, he read out the list from what they were originally grabbing for themselves to what Scliff asked to something Blake wanted to get personally, “So we need melatonin for Safurn, cookies, banana bread, brownie mix, slippers, tums, ginger ale, yogurt, and a kinder bar.”

“Wait, why a kinder bar?”

“Roswo loves them. Not like he admits it though.” He chuckled a bit. Roswo absolutely loved kinder bars, well, any hazelnut chocolate but kinder bars were his favorite. Though his tsundere nature doesn’t let him admit it, always making excuses of that they aren’t good or that they aren’t good for him, but he usually does give in and eat it, almost like a cat in a way, being hostile then actually wanting attention.

”Quick question, why couldn’t you just summon this stuff? You literally have powers of a god!”

“Well I like to give back to the community, besides, I can’t summon everything. It’s everything natural, cookies, brownie mix and medication are man made, out of my range.” He shrugged before grabbing the Kinder Bueno bar from the shelf.

”…Bro, you are too kind for this server.” He huffs

”You”re too kind.” He grabbed Wykull’s hand as they went to the self checkout.

Walking up the brick steps, a part of Blake did want to talk to Roswo about improving his porch though right now, not the time. Wykull was holding a grocery bag around his wrist. They were now in front of the door Blake perked up seeing the doorbell, same design he showed in one of his videos.

”Huh, i didn’t know he added a door bell.” He smiled a bit before ringing it.

minutes pass….I think I hear someone coming down stairs? After some more waiting, Scliff opened the door.

”Hey, you got the stuff?” He held the door open, letting them in.

”Yep.” Blake and Wykull entered. The place was dark, not much for life in this place. Curtains were over the windows, very few lights that were on, despite it being a warm day and the room being dark, it was chilly.

”Jeez, this place looks like a horror movie.” Wykull laughed nervously. I mean, he wasn’t wrong, looked like a haunted house.

Scliff rubbed the back of his neck, “Yeah, I lit some lanterns to at least give some light here.”

“Why didn’t you turn on any lights? Is he sleeping or something?” Blake tilted his head confused.

“That would be a bad idea.” He was quick to shut it down. “Darkness helps shadows heal and be comfortable, though if you suddenly turn light on one of them…or specifically Roswo, he’ll just screw with you. Stole my dog once when I did it.” He pressed his lips tight as his face was awkward.

Wykull snickered, “damn, for a stalker he’s petty.”

”Yeah yeah, uhh….he’s not asleep but he’s also not feeling great, so if you guys want answers, my recommendation is to not be on his bad side.” He rolled up his sleeve to show a bite mark.

“Ooo..” the two winced.

”….Honestly, checks out.” Blake said embarrassed.

”Wait what?” Wykull looked at Blake confused and surprised.

”What? He bit my arm sometimes. Tried to bite my neck but It wasn’t it my comfort zone so I asked him to back off.” he showed the subtle scar on his arm that he had once bandaged and claimed a dog bit him…

…”You seriously covered for him!? Bro you had to get stitches!” The siren’s expression was annoyed.

”Anyways!” He quickly shifted topics, “Can we see him?”

Scliff shrugged, “Yeah, but again, not feeling the greatest….Oh! How many yogurt cups did you get?”

Wykull grabbed out of the bag a box of Danimals strawberry yogurt, “Does a box work?” Honestly, he just assumed a box and Blake didn’t correct him.

”Eh, it works. Just give him one when you go up, he’s literally living off medication right now.” He was a bit disturbed but it’s not like he’s wrong.

”Alright, uhh…Hope you’re okay with the bite and all.” Blake did a nervous smile.

”Oh yeah, besides he can bites harder-“

”UPSTAIRS WE GO!” Wykull pushed Blake, not wanting to hear anything else dirty. They already do it enough as it is.

Roswo was laying on his back in bed. Subtle taste of blood in his mouth. He’s still upset at Scliff for trying to lock him in almost impossible escape rooms and whatever….what? Just because he got obsessive over Blake? He gets it….i think? Honestly he doesn’t fully. The feeling of jealousy, sure, but he doesn’t understand like others do. He just appeared from shadows and didn’t have good sources to understand how to feel things without it going into mania. No one sat down and taught him, explained to him. He just had to figure it out, he’s an adult now and he should know where to back off and where to hold back…

…

Maybe that’s why Blake probably doesn’t like him. I mean that talk made it clear so why does he keep asking to hang out? He’s running out of excuses..except the sick one. But he very much hates hate excuse the most since it’s true every time he uses it…..probably should get more yogurt, or chicken broth. Something I can at least stomach.

Creeeeak

Roswo sighed and sat up before looking over, expecting Scliff. He held his head, a bit nauseated and felt like someone hammered a nail into his skull. Looking over, he was surprised to see the yellow siren and the descendent of the god creativity…

…

The room was quiet as they stared at eachother. There was the soft yellow glow of the lantern Scliff lit that exposed the dust particles in the air. Roswo didn’t know how to feel seeing those two…why were they here? What did they want and what do they have??? His ear flicked with anticipation, he really didn’t want company right now, while he was barely keeping his body together with shadow wisps coming from his hair.

“Hey.” Blake waved with a soft, kind smile while looking at Roswo. He looked like a deer in headlights. An ill deer. “We wanted to check in on you. You’ve been sick a lot this week.” Wykull held up the bag with a nervous look, he honestly didn’t know what to say..

Roswo stayed frozen, even if his head ached, even if he felt like throwing bile up…he didn’t dare to move, so Blake did. “We picked you up some stuff. Uhh…I hope strawberry yogurt is fine.” He grabbed the bag from Wykull and walked towards the bed. Glancing at the trash, seems to be a new bag inside..he set the bag on the bed and grabbed the Danimals yogurt from inside and handed it to him.

…

Hesitantly, Roswo took it with a shaky hand. Blake noticed the shadowy black gradient from his hand to his arm….his form is failing…

”Thanks..” he mumbled. Not wanting to make this any worse than it already was. He twisted the top of the bottle and drank a bit of it. Not his favorite but it’s at least easier to take.

Wykull sighed, clearly this was between them and he gave a thumbs up to Blake before walking out. Shutting the door quietly behind him.

”Can you tell me what’s going on? I know you have your secrets but I’m worried about you. Even before you started avoiding me.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “You’re often sick or have appointments then all of a sudden you stop hanging out with us ever since I talked to you about my boundaries.” He crouched down to rest his arms on the bed. “Just tell me what’s happening? What’s going on inside your head?”

…

Roswo sighed and drank the yogurt again before putting his hand up to his mouth to force it down…. After swallowing, he huffed, “Well assumed we weren’t friends anymore since, y’know…the talk.” He shrugged, his gaze looked over to the blankets…they were cherry blossom themed with the subtle brown branches to hold the blossoms.

….

Blake was surprised, that was never the point of the conversation! “Roswo, that talk was about me setting boundaries with you. I never said I didn’t want to be friends.” He shifted to sitting on the bed. “I was uncomfortable with you stalking me and some of your comments. I wanted to set my boundaries with you so we could stay friends and you knew where I was uncomfortable. It’s like when I told you to not bite my neck.” He tried to look directly into Roswo’s eyes though couldn’t due to him not looking at him….

Taking a deep breath and leaned on his knee a bit. “Could you tell me what’s been going on with everything else though? You’re sick really often and usually say you have appointments. Are you okay? Did something happen?”

Before he could get another word in, Roswo covered his mouth and sighed before sitting back against the wall. “I’m fine.”

”No you aren’t!” Blake shouted a bit in a worried tone.

Roswo huffed and drink a bit more of the yogurt, taking a moment to force it down. “Me being sick is normal…I very much hate it but it’s what happens when your immune system is garbage and tries to kill you.” He chuckled a bit before jumping a bit and putting his fist up to his mouth before swallowing back….let the man have his damn yogurt.

Blake looked at him for a moment and grabbed the bag from the floor and pulled out some tums. “This should hopefully help with your stomach.” He handed it to Roswo and smiled softly.

….

”Thanks” he smiled softly while taking the tums from him.
