Jolly are those who take no issue
In leaving ones they swore to love.
Shrug they and live their life completely
With no weight hanging from above.
But one who takes it as his mission
To reach in darkness and return
With loved ones, even through the fiction,
That man shall be forever known.
Coined in stories, told to children;
The tale they should keep in their heart.
The father risks his all for wisdom
Of long lost careful, loving art.
The partner and the parent fondly
Looks back at his child’s empty crib,
And knows, she’s out there, sleeping calmly
As she grows up, his precious kid.
And even if he’s gone forever,
A plate with names and dates beside,
In reverence he dances, staying
Forever in his daughter’s mind.
