Work Text:
Laundry is evil.
I dodge the giant toad.
Somehow, a giant slime-spitting toad is living in the sewers.
OF COURSE, it's my job to get rid of it.
I'm just your friendly neighborhood plumber.
Ok. I admit it. This sucks.
I uppercut the toad, sending it flying.
As it hits the wall, a ball of green slime splatters all over my suit.
"AAHHHGGG! That doesn't wash out!"
I secure the toad to the sewer tunnel wall.
"Time to wash the suit."
2 hours later.
I scrub furiously at my suit.
After two trips through the washing machine, AND way too many chemicals, nothing has come off.
I moan.
"It's not like I have more backup suits! Maybe it will come out at the laundromat?"
I get up and start walking, because there's no point swinging without the suit.
After ten minutes of walking through New York, I finally arrive at the laundromat.
I load the suit into the washer and insert a coin.
I move over to a bench to wait.
The door chimes, and another customer walks in.
At first I don't recognise her without the suit, but then...
I frown.
"Gwen?"
She jumps and whirls around.
"Peter? What are you doing here?"
"I was about to ask you the same thing!"
We sigh at the same time.
Then we reply at the same time, "It was my last resort."
I laugh.
"What jacked up your suit?"
She groans.
"I ran into Electro. Got a little singed. It still smells like soot."
I blink.
"You think THAT'S BAD! A slime-spitting toad completely ruined my suit!"
She smirks.
"Peter Parker got schooled by a frog?"
The bell chimes again.
Miles Morales walks in with a sour look on his face.
"Let me guess."
I start dryly.
"It was your last resort."
He gasps.
"HOW did you know?"
I bang my head on the wall.
"Our laundry is screwed."
