Eight Times, James, EIGHT TIMES!

Summary:

8 times James wanted something and Severus refused, but in the end he went along with it.
8 times the marauders have heard their best friend complain that his almost boyfriend never gives in, even though all know that Severus always, ALWAYS, gives in.
8 times James has just been silly and forgetful —or something like that.

Notes:

James and Severus in a sort of relationship, being two idiots in love, are making me want to wake up every day.

Spanish version, made by me: Ocho Veces, James, ¡OCHO VECES!

Chapter 1: He doesn’t want to come to my match

Chapter Text

“But–”

“No, I’ve already told you.”

“Oh, come on!” James pouted, “It’ll be fun!” he tried to persuade him.

“It’ll be noisy.” retorted the snake.

“Well, yes,” conceded the brown haired one, “it’s a match.”

“That exactly why I’m not going.” Severus declared; which led the brown one to roll his eyes and sigh dramatically.

And there were no more salvation for him. His almost boyfriend didn’t want to go to his match, and only Godric himself knew how hard James had tried over and over the last week to convince Severus to at least try to attend the last match of the season; but nothing seemed to please the dark haired lad, who was always coming up with some excuses to say no —it was all so frustrating.

“It’s just one —one match and I’ll leave you in peace for the rest of the year!”

“The year ends in two months!” retorted the dark haired.

“Ugh!” groaned James, who with no other options, had to resort to the most desperate measures, “Fine, you don’t want to go, okay, but it’ll be over my dead body.”

The replay came almost immediately. “In that case, I’m sorry to hear of your early death.”

“Oi!”

Severus sighed. “James, going to the matc–” he began, but was brutally interrupted by the hand the brown haired boy placed on his cheek.

“Sev,” he began, and from the slight flinch of the Slytherin, James knew he was on the verge of changing the boy’s mind, he just needed a little more persuasion. “please,” he tried to plead as best he could, but those dark eyes looked away at the last moment —another clear attempt by the Slytherin to stick to his decision to not go to the march, however, James still had a few more tricks up his sleeve. “it’s the march —do it for me, please?” he finished, giving him a smile which, according to his mum, was blinding.

The trouble was that his rival was none other than the most stubborn Slytherin in existence; the same boy he had been chasing since his third year and who had finally spoken to him by the middle of his fourth —that was Severus Snape. He wasn’t someone who gave in easily, so his next reply was to be expected.

“No.”

“But Sev, everything’s going to be fine. I mean, Lily will be there, and, and, and… Rem!” he almost shouted, “You like them, don’t you?” and the dark haired, trying to cut him off, made James hurry to finish, “Let it go, Sev! Do it for me, do it for your almost boyfriend.” he whispered the last part very close to the face of the snake in front of him.

And the blush that began to colour the pale cheeks was the only proof James needed to know he had won the argument.

After five seconds, during which they simply stared at each other, Severus sighed, “Fine.” and that was the only word that accompanied his subsequent groans.

James, wasting no time, lifted him up by the waist, grinning from ear to ear, whilst shouting. “Severus Snape is going to James Potter’s match!” ignoring the snake’s protests.

“Potter, put me down this instant! Potter!”
