Work Text:

Sara ran up after Kyra, glasses foggy.

"Ky! There's another student who needs your help. Again."

Kyra sighed, then turned around. Sara noticed the mask on half of her face, but didn't bother to say anything.

"Hey, babe. Are you going to stare or..."

Sara snapped out or her daze, and shook her head. "Nope! Um, follow me."

Kyra started walking, but Sara pulled her arm.

"This way."

Kyra rubbed her eyes, then followed Sara.

Sara looked at Kyra's face once more. Was she ok?

"Say something, say something!" Sara thought.

"Um Ky?"

Kyra turned. "Yeah?"

Sara kept walking while talking. "What's with the mask, and did you sleep last night?"

Kyra stopped and reached for her mask, but stopped mid-way.

"Its fine. And I had to study last night. That's all."

Sara nodded. Kyra had a lot of magical studies to do, and she tutored newer students. Not to mention helping out in the diner, and...wow.

"You have a lot on your plate, Ky. You shouldn't have to feel like this school and you are fused."

Sara opened the door, and Ky went in. Multiple kids greeted her, and she smiled.

"Hey guys! Ill be with you in a moment. Who needs my help now?"

Sara smiled. Ky had always been good with younger people. That was one of the things that drew her in.

Kyra looked up at Sara after hugging the final kid. "Look, things have just plied up lately. But I'm fine, I swear."

Sara hugged Ky, and Ky hugged her back. But something was different this time. Sara chose to keep that feeling of unease with her, and store it away. It wouldnt be worth talking about now. And Kyra can get through anything... but if something was really wrong, she would tell her right?

Right?
