Chapter Text
Seungcheol came across a cute little cafe deep in the streets of Seoul.
"Is this cafe always here? It's so close to my place, and I didn't even notice it," he asked his guard.
"It is, sir. It's not that popular, so you may not know it. But I heard it's quite good," the guard replied.
"Should we stop here today?" Seungcheol asked.
"As you wish, sir."
They went into the cafe, grabbing everyone's attention.
(Choi Seungcheol, 30 years old, an alpha mafia boss. His short black hair and fierce eyes made him stand out even more. He was feared by the whole of Seoul.
Kim Mingyu, 25 years old, Seungcheol's personal assistant and bodyguard. He was tall, muscular, and handsome. Despite his scary appearance, his personality was like that of a cute puppy. Seungcheol and Mingyu had been best friends for many years. They were so close that Seungcheol almost treated him like his own kid.)
They sat at the farthest table, from where they had a full view of what was happening outside. Mingyu received an "important" call, so he walked out for a moment. Seungcheol ignored the stares he was receiving from the people around him.
"WON'T YOU TAKE MY ORDER?" he yelled.
He looked down at his phone again when a hand appeared on his table and tapped it lightly.
"It's a self-service cafe, sir! You need to order from the counter. Can't you read?"
Seungcheol was shocked at the bullshit he was hearing. He was ready to shoot down anyone who dared to talk to him like that.
"HOW DARE YOU TAL—Oh?"
He looked up at the man with rage, but his anger quickly turned into admiration when he finally saw his face.
The man standing before Seungcheol was ethereal. He looked like an angel who had descended to Earth just for him. The pretty man frowned when he noticed Seungcheol staring at him for too long.
"Excuse me? Can you stop staring at me and get up from your seat? ...Sir," the man said in a cute voice.
Seungcheol smirked while continuing to look at him. He slowly stood up without breaking eye contact.
"Hello? Can you hear me?" The man waved his hand in front of Seungcheol's eyes, giving him an annoyed look.
"Jeonghan?" a distant voice called, dragging the pretty man away against his will.
"Jeonghan... His name is pretty, too," Seungcheol murmured, smiling to himself.
Another barista approached him and said, "I'm really sorry for the inconvenience, sir. Just order anything, and I'll get it for you. It's on the house because one of us acted very foolishly. Please forgive him. He doesn't know how to speak properly."
The barista bowed deeply.
"It's okay. Don't let him repeat it. I'll visit this cafe... often."
Seungcheol smiled.
Mingyu returned from his call and saw Seungcheol blushing like a little girl.
"Sir? Why are you smiling like that to yourself?" Mingyu asked, frowning.
He received no answer.
"Sir? Are you even here with me? Hello?"
Seungcheol finally noticed Mingyu standing there.
"Oh? When did you come in?" he asked, still smiling like an idiot.
"When you were thinking about something while blushing. What's wrong with you?"
"Nothing. I just... saw someone... interesting."
"Ooooh, I see."
Mingyu gave him a silly smile while raising his eyebrows up and down.
"What was that look? Shut up and give her the order."
The female barista came over and took their order. They both ordered black coffee.
After finishing their coffee, Seungcheol got up from his chair and walked to the counter. He rested his arms on it.
"How can I help you, sir?" the female barista asked.
"Umm... Jeonghan? Did I get his name right?" Seungcheol asked, still smirking.
"Sir? What are you referring to?" the barista asked, confused.
"I need Jeonghan. I need to talk to him. Can I see him?"
"Just a minute, sir. I will... I'll call him outside."
The barista looked frightened.
(Yoon Jeonghan, 29 years old, owns a cafe that serves coffee and pastries. He works there during the day. It had always been his dream to own a cafe, and now that dream had come true. He had long, silky, neck-length hair and feminine facial features that could make any man go insane.)
"Jeonghan! Sir! The mafia boss is calling for you. Go..." the barista whispered to Jeonghan.
She was terrified of what might happen next. Was this going to be the last day of his life? He shouldn't have spoken to a mafia boss like that.
Jeonghan came outside hesitantly.
"Sir? You wanted to see me?" he asked slowly.
"Yes... Jeonghan..." Seungcheol said, staring directly into Jeonghan's eyes as the latter tried to avoid his gaze.
"How can I assist you, sir?" Jeonghan asked sassily.
Seungcheol raised his eyebrows at the attitude.
"Can I get the bill?" he asked, his eyes still fixed on Jeonghan.
"Here is your bill, sir."
Jeonghan placed the bill on the counter. Seungcheol had expected him to hand it directly to him, but Jeonghan didn't.
"Here... Keep the change."
Seungcheol handed him a 50,000-won bill.
Jeonghan looked shocked.
"Sir... The coffee only costs 4,000 won. What do you expect me to do with a 50,000-won bill? I can't keep the change," Jeonghan said seriously.
"Oh, come on... You deserve that much. With a face like that and a bo—"
"Sir... Please be respectful! You cannot just say whatever you want!" Jeonghan interrupted with an attitude.
He handed Seungcheol his change.
"Please leave!" he added, glaring at him.
Seungcheol narrowed his eyes.
"You're a bold one, aren't you?"
He bent forward over the counter, moving closer to Jeonghan. Jeonghan turned his face away and closed his eyes.
"It's fine... That much attitude is exactly what I crave," Seungcheol said, winking.
He took the change and turned around to leave, with Mingyu following behind him.
Jeonghan took a deep breath in relief as Seungcheol walked away.
Seungcheol paused at the entrance and turned back one more time.
"I'll be seeing you often, so make sure to keep up that bitchy attitude of yours. I like it."
He smirked before leaving.
Jeonghan cursed internally. He didn't want to see that man often. He rolled his eyes and returned to his work, refusing to let Seungcheol's words get to him.
Seungcheol went back to his hideout. He had several meetings to attend, but he couldn't stop thinking about Jeonghan.
The way he spoke, his voice, his beautiful face, and especially... his body.
Fuck!
He just couldn't get Jeonghan out of his mind.
A few days later, he returned to the cafe around closing time. He had picked out a beautiful bouquet of flowers containing roses, tulips, and other flowers.
He stood at the counter, seeing no one but Jeonghan, who was working on something. He looked incredibly attractive while concentrating on his work.
Seungcheol intentionally cleared his throat to make Jeonghan notice him. Then, he placed the huge bouquet of flowers on the counter.
"Sorry, sir. We're closed for th—"
Jeonghan stopped mid-sentence when he saw Seungcheol standing at the door.
"You!"
His expression immediately turned irritated.
"Yeah, it's me... Happy to see me, aren't you? Did you miss me all day?"
Seungcheol walked behind the counter, getting insanely close to Jeonghan.
"Whoa! Sir, you're not supposed to be here. P-Please go to the front side of the counter," Jeonghan said, glaring at him with narrowed eyes.
"Oh? So who's going to make me go? You?"
Seungcheol leaned close and whispered near his ear, making Jeonghan flinch as hot air brushed against it.
Jeonghan rolled his eyes.
"T-Tell me what you need, sir?" he asked.
There wasn't even a trace of fear in his eyes.
He crossed his arms and looked straight into Seungcheol's eyes.
"You have no fear at all, I see..."
Seungcheol stepped back and walked away from him, sitting at a table near the counter.
"I need nothing. You're working so hard... So I wanted to... appreciate your work."
He looked Jeonghan up and down hungrily.
Jeonghan rolled his eyes and returned to his work. He quickly finished closing the cafe and picked up his things, glancing at Seungcheol one last time.
Seungcheol was still staring at him.
"I need to close the cafe, sir. Do you intend to leave?" Jeonghan asked, raising an eyebrow.
Seungcheol got up with a groan and stretched his arms above his head. He walked out of the cafe without looking away from Jeonghan, not even for a second.
Jeonghan took a deep breath, closed the cafe, and turned to Seungcheol, who was still standing there.
"Not leaving?"
"Do you want me to stay?"
Seungcheol leaned forward.
"Tsk. Why are you bugging me, actually? What did I ever do to you?" Jeonghan asked in a serious tone.
"Me? Bugging you? Oh... no, no."
Seungcheol chuckled.
"I'm just admiring you."
"What do you actually want from me?"
