Hey guys… I never thought I’d be typing up something like this. But after what happened, I knew I needed to warn people about what happened.
It all started when I was playing Penguin Origins, a Club Penguin Private server. I always loved it for the classic style it had and the great characters. (Shout out Denny) I was in the moment for some Catchin’ Waves, even though I’m absolutely terrible at it. Like so bad I’m embarrassed to even admit I was playing it. But anyways, I waddled my penguin over to the hut thingy and hit play. Freestyle was the only one I didn’t instantly fail at so I clicked on that one.
Things started totally normal. A few minutes into the game I surpirsingly hadn’t lost any surfboards. But a few seconds later at 3:57PM the banger tunes of the game were suddenly replaced with a loud buzzing noise. I was a little shooked, I had never encountered something like that happening in the game before. Assuming it was a glitch I kept going, but I quickly lost all of my surfboards. The game rewarded me with one coin, the highest amount I had ever received.
And once I exited the game the noise stopped and the music of the cove filled my eargans (ears and organs). I sighed in relief, the buzzing was starting to hurt my ears. Feeling more confident than usually I decided to play the game again. Foolishly thinking the glitch wouldn’t happen again. But it did happen again. It appeared even faster this time!! Only 1:36 minutes into playing freestyle the buzzing once again filled my ears.
“Darn!” I said aloud to myself. The sound was starting to hurt my ears, and just as I was enjoying Catchin’ Waves for the first time in my life! The world really is fucked up… But my curoisty was peaked, I wondered if the glitch was persent in the other game modes?
“Hmmst…” I once again said to myself. I hit the X button in the top corner to leave the game. The textbox popped up saying I was rewarded 1 coin again. Because I suck at Catchin’ Waves. After exiting the game I was booted to a loading screen. Usually it only takes a few seconds to load, but I ended up waiting for 24.7 seconds for the game to load! Much longer than normal. But given everything that was going on I brushed it off as the game having some issues.
Once I saw the Cove load in with my yellow penguin in the centenr of teh screen I moved my mouse back over to the hut and clicked. Yet my penguin didn’t move. I clicked again in a different cpot. And it still didn’t move! I shook my head, perhaps this was a sign I needed to stop playing and finish up my work for college. After closing the tab, and sending a bug report descirding what I had encountered, I closed my computer and got to work.
Oh how I wish things ended there…
After some time had passed (a few hours) (like maybe 3) (or two) I had finished my work and not written a shitty Penguin Origins creepypasta. Because that would be foolish. And I am not foolish. Anyways, I decided I wanted to do some research on Catchin’ Waves. Maybe i could improve my skills, or lack there of. I opened up my puter and typed “Catchin’ Waves” into google. It give me the fandom wiki page for Catchin’ Waves. I shrugged and clicked on the page. Normally I don’t use fandom wiki, but thankfully I had an ad blocker installed which saved me from being blasted with ads.
The page seemed pretty thorough at first glance, so I started to read through it. But not even half way through the page I gasped in shocked. I couldn’t believe my eyes!
“You can do tricks by pressing different buttons?!?” I exclaimed in shook. I had no idea that was possible in game! That explains why I never got many points. Surprised, I kept scrolling down the page, unsure of what else awaited me. That’s when I saw it. Under “Unused judges” images of the weirdest creatures I’ve ever seen. They didn’t look like penguin judges, they looked likes something I would doodle half asleep when I was still in the womb.
I let out a laugh. “Haha!” I laughed laughly. What silly creatures I thought to myself. But when I looked back on the screen…my jaw dropped. All the penguin’s eyes had turned white!
I didn’t know why such a thing happened, I refreshed the page but their eyes remained white! What an odd glitch I thought to myself. Shaking my head I shutdown my computer, thinking my tiredness had caused me to see white eyed penguins, because that’s a very normal thing that happens to me. A bit of rest would solve might problems. Having made up my mind I brushed my teeth and tucked myself into bed. Though admitting it was embarrassing, I struggled to fall asleep because I was kinda scared. Like just a bit. Thankfully after 35:80 minutes I managed to fall alseep.
Once I was deep into sleep, I ended up dreaming a dream. I was seemingly in the middle of a snowstorm, barely able to see three feet ahead of me. Looking down at myself I discovered that I was in the body of a penguin! Wearing teh same clothes as my penguin in Penguin Oirigins wore! Though it was strange, I wasn’t too surprised. Tons of my dreams had featured Club Peungion before! Nothing like this before, but it wasn’t too out of the blue. I shivered from the cold, hugging myself I moved my feet (or flippers?) through the thick snow.
For what seemed like hours I trudged through as the cold air whipped at me and snow continued crashing down. But eventually I saw something in the far distant, I couldn’t make out much besides a blot of yellow. It didn’t matter what it was however, I ran towards it as fat as I could. The shape got closer and closer as the temperature dropped further and further. Until I blinked through the snow and finally saw what I was running to.
It was a surfboard. A yellow surfboard with a red line in the middle. The same one from Catchin’ Waves. I was too stunned to speak… But to my horror, moments later a excruciating buzzing sound filled my ears and organas and toes. It made my ears ring in pain, I tried to cover them but that did nothing! The noise won’t stop! I couldn’t take it anymore!!
I jolted, but the sound kept going! That’s when I noticed a light coming from my room. I pushed aside my Shrek themed bedspread and approached the light. That I now could see was coming from my computer, which was cracked open a few inches. Though I could have sworen I had closed it before I went to sleep. Getting closer only made the buzzing become louder. Feeling pretty annoyed at this point I swung my computer open.
On the screen it only displayed Penguin Origins, where my penguin was trapped in a white void. Firstly I hit the mute button, which didn’t do anything, which only made me more mad! Then I tried clicking around the screen, but nothing worked. My little penguin was stuck in place. Finally I sent I message in chat.
“What is going on?”
The message sent no problem. I held my breath waiting for something, anything to happen. And I didn’t have to wait long. Another penguin appeared on screen. It was a dark blue and wore a red bandana on it’s head.
A textbox appeared above the other penguin “You showed up quicker than I expected. Good.”
I was in awe, and still pretty mad but also in awe. Once that message disappeared another took its place.
“Let’s cut to the chase then. For both of our sakes.”
I gulped nervously. I was starting to think something strange was happening.
“I’d like to think I’m a fair man. I like to see a variety of everything.”
The blue penguin waddled towards mine. Uh oh, that doesn’t seem good.
“But you… I’ve never seen someone so bad at surfing. I didn’t think it was even possible to surf that bad!”
I scoff, a little offended even if the odd penguin’s words are true. Without thinking about it I type out another message. But when I press enter nothing happens. Instead the strange penguin speaks again.
“This is your first and only warning.”
Suddenly my whole screen turns to black leaving me in total drakness. Only for the lights in my room to turn on, revealing a message written in blood on my wall!
“DON’T PLAY CATCHING WAVES EVER AGAIN!!!!!! Also your outfit is trash”
I screamed in horror. Everyone knows it’s “Catchin’ Waves” not “Catching Waves”! What was I gonna do?!? I slammed my computer shut, turned off the lights, and ran back to bed. My eyes were shut tight, hoping for this too all be just a bad dream. I passed out from scared.
And when I woke the next morning the blood writing on my wall was gone, and so were all my coins in Penguin Origins…all two coins I had…
I know this story sounds too crazy to be true, but it really happened to me!! Sometimes I can still hear that buzzing noise in my nightmares. I haven’t played Catchin’ Waves since out of fear. Please be craeful when playing the game so you don’t suffer this fate too!!!
