Chapter Text
"That’s strange—” Y/N mumbled, hand reaching a white coat that was messily placed on a chair. “It's not usual he left his coat?”
This Friday was supposed to be the day for Check-Up. The doctor in question has been promising a lot for rescheduling the agenda— and even till today he hasn't shown up anywhere.
“Well- waiting for another 30 minutes won't hurt~ Aunt Pong already told me to wait anyway.”
Y/N decided to sit lightly at the edge of Lee Yau’s mattress- While praying for dear life that she won't mess up someone else's bedroom, Or at least her lover’s one.
And of course our little farmer tried to take it seriously but failed miserably. It's not past 1 week after that night with a lot of rum and wine, and that stupid drunk confession- until Y/N had kept behaving like a wanted robber, trying to escape.
She avoids any greetings with The Doctor. Using another path to run through with her bicycle without passing The Hospital building. Even successfully ignoring the Bar when it's already dark. This obviously must’ve driven the doctor insane. Why would your so-called new relationship status start with a silent-treatment??
Back to the moment at that night when Y/N shouted those words, Her first intention was only to give her gratitude towards him. Who knows if it's because the intense atmosphere that made her blurted out something she doesn't mean to say it out loud. Then without needing the time or days to think of an answer, half sip of wine and the rest of consciousness that man had- Lee Yau muttered a word that only Y/N, him, and god could hear.
It is truly the night that made everything felt different for Y/N.
Something grew violently in her heart, but she's not entirely sure what it is. She thought she always had it there when it's just between her and Lee Yau. Maybe the feeling of joy and peace? But this might be an intense one- She could slightly feel a little Pressured, Warmth, and euphoria at the same time.
Y/N knew she couldn't stay silent as nothing ever happened. Not after they're fully conscious over their both decisions for going into a deeper relationship. She really wanted to make up for it, and decided only one way is to agree for this check-up. It was Lee Yau’s offer anyway, but they just kept delaying it again and again.
“... It’ll be fine” a sudden heat strike to Y/N’s face. “And of course I don't have fear of needles or hospitals, right?— what could possibly happen?”
It never was about the Medical check-up.
And out of Nervous, Y/N grip firmly to the white coat that Lee Yau’s left. She started imagining things that she would do when Lee Yau arrived. First come first, is to apologize. Second, ask if He wanted Y/N to do something that at least makes her forgiven. Well, if it's necessary of course. Lee Yau is quite hard to please when he's holding a grudge anyway.
She kept murmuring as she held those coats closely. A gentle fragrant somewhat tingling her nose. A flower perhaps, but more likely Herbs. And a quite strong scent.
“... Does Yau smell like this?”, a strange but funny feeling tickles her in some way.
It comes to Y/N’s senses that she has never remembered Lee Yau's body scents. Considering physical touch was an unfamiliar gesture between both of them, even just holding hands. They didn't really get that chance to have any intimacy such as that.
Strike with an idea— Y/N decided to take off her own Red Jacket then replace it with Lee Yau’s white coat. Not a perfect size for her, but somehow those oversized fabrics gave her comfort more than any other of her clothes could give.
Who knows the important part for comfortable wear was Lee Yau's scents?
Y/N suddenly giggles by those thoughts. She lay down without hesitation into the bedsheet, while playfully snuggling with the warmth from her coat.
And as corny as it sounds, Y/N found comfort and Secure just by wearing it.
She realizes Lee Yau has always been given her the Warmth through his presence, even for a slightest. Remembering every detail, the secret, while also giving her space to stay and room to understand,
A hand to hold, a heart to trust, and a person to go to. And what she could possibly have asked for more?
“Did I interrupt your time here?” A very low voice came uninvited, successfully giving a girl in her 20s a heart attack.
“For goodness sake-” Y/N immediately sprang from her deep thoughts and laid position. “...Did you even knock on the door?”
“Must I remind you that you waited in my bedroom and went out of your way to lay down here?” Lee Yau lifted his left eyebrow. A tone quite for authority.
“Right. I… I'm so sorry” a second heat struck the girl’s face. “I swear, your mother made me wait here. She were quite busy at hospital counter, so—”
“no need to mention. It doesn't bother me that much.”
As if he was intentionally forgetting what they were going to do, or even asking anything Y/N just did in his bedroom, Lee Yau lazily threw himself to his bed.
“Give me 30 minute break, would You? I’d still remember the check-up, don't worry.” Lee Yau murmured while covering his half face with one arm.
“Got it…then, I'll just wait outside—”
“Don't even think of going outside.” A bit of a firm voice suddenly filled the room. “If you're just going to run away again then go back home, I suppose you should’ve forgot today's schedule anyway.”
Lee Yau gradually positioned himself sitting, while putting his sight through the girl who stood frozen in front of him. A guilt must’ve embraced those poor girl.
“Speak to me. Please.” A plea came out from the man’s mouth. His gaze might be softened for Her, but the frustration and exhaustion were shown on his sapphire eyes. “Anything is fine. I rather sit for hours just to hear You talk about something that doesn't make sense. Or perhaps this is because I'm in the wrong after what happened that night, then—”
“No, No. Yau you didn't do anything wrong I swear-” Y/N urgently answered. She almost hit a higher tone, showing how panicked she is and not wanting to build misunderstanding.
“Then cut it out with this nonsense.” The man blurted out.
A few seconds of silence wraps the entire Lee Yau's bedroom. Unsurprisingly, this isn't the first and hopefully not the last time these two have arguments, especially over small things. A two person that can see and feel everything differently- What could you expect from a chemistry like this?
Thankfully, there's still room for both of them to understand each other. Because a minute later, tears break down and flow through Y/N’s cheek. A wall that has been gripping on her slowly collapses. And the man who had just spoken with her unfortunately was too stunned to say anything. Lee Yau clearly didn't mean to say anything that’ll make her cry.
“It is my mistake. I'm sorry… I'm sorry for being a coward and running away.” Y/N keeps muttering word by word while sniffling. “I shouldn't have done it. Not because it's Yau’s fault. nor because you ever did upset me. But it did feel overwhelming for some time. I’ve never dated anyone. I never asked anyone out since high school, and I'm stupid when dealing with boys… Im completely clueless. If I had done something wrong, or anything that embarrassed you, I kept thinking you might deny this decision. And I don't want that.”
More tears begin to fall again before Y/N could finish. “.It’s fine if you no longer interested with this date, But I rather don't want to lose what we had. Not as a lover, but as someone to go to… You're a dear person of mine.”
The last same sentence that once was shouted that night. And it seems like the man notices, because Lee Yau reacts exactly the same as the night they once had before. He memorized those words clearly, as if it was a magic word or something.
