Chapter Text
‘Where am I?”
That was the first thing that came to my mind as I came into consciousness. Everything was warm, and I was in the arms of another. Who? I didn't know. I could barely remember my name. No, no, I could remember my name. It was…. It was….
My mind raced as I tried to fill in the gaps. Where was I? I was on the street last. Yes. I was walking home after school, but I couldn't… couldn’t place what had happened. It's been a bright light and then everything had been warm. And wet.
Everything was blurry, in a physical sense, but also a mental one. Not as one would expect, I still could remember things, I remembered. I could remember my favorite books, What colors were called basic facts, History, words, everything. I could remember my father teaching her to ride a bike. I could remember my mother teaching me how to bake, I could remember my little brother, the little gremlin. But their faces. The names, my own name. They all eluded me.
I also knew I was disturbed by this, but I also knew that was not the thing to be focusing on, especially since there was a person holding her. Since when was she small enough to be held like this? I still didn't know who that was, and they were crying and saying something. What was it?
“Oh my sweet girl, You’re perfect. So perfect. You look so much like Bella don’t you!” the voice called out. The voice was very tired, it seemed, it sounded like a woman. I still couldn’t place who it was at all though. As I peeled back my eyes- which took an alarming amount of strength to do, by the way, since when did it take so much strength?- and found myself looking at a very tired looking woman. Her eyes were blue, an almost startlingly bright blue, and she had flowing long blond hair, almost white but not entirely so, and fair skin dotted with freckles……
‘Still not ringing a bell. What the hell is going on? Who IS this! She seems nice enough i guess, but I'll just call her the first person I saw since the weird memory thing. A bit long i guess, but its accurate at least’
What seemed less accurate was the way the woman was cooing at me. Why was she doing that! I’m not a baby, I'm…. I’m…. okay i can exactly remember my age but i know i’m older then her, she looks only like, 20!... Am I older than that? You know what, not important.
The woman tilted her head slightly down at me, a tired smile gracing her face “you’re quite a bit early, Merlin be, bella will throw a fit she didn’t get to see you first, hmm? A little trouble maker so quick?”
‘Merlin? Wasn’t that some weird old wizard? Why is she swearing to him? Who the fuck is Bella? Didn’t she say I looked like this ‘Bella’, before? This is already getting very confusing.’ I mused silently, staring up at the woman, this was all very strange, and judging by the very fragmented memories i had, it certainly wasn’t normal.
I was startled out of my thoughts when the door practically slammed open, someone barging in with a crash. I looked over, my eyes taking a moment to fully adjust to looking in another direction. Wild black hair, black outfit, black eyes. The only thing breaking the weird color coordination was the fair skin, and I guess the wildness practically vibrating off her skin
“SIENNA! The one time in the last WEEK I’m out fighting Aurors, and you give birth NOW!” The woman's voice was… familiar, from where, from what? A movie? Yes, a movie. The woman holding her- Sienna, apparently- honestly, the first person I saw after the weird memory thing was more fitting.- laughed “Ha, Bella blames the baby not me!” this bitch. I felt my face scrunch up in annoyance, what even was happening? The woman called Bella walked up, and smiled down at me
“How cute. We’ll need a name benefiting the black heir hmm? What was the one you liked, Sienna? Samantha Moris Black, of the most noble and ancient house of black?” the woman said it proudly, as if announcing a new law. And now that she was closer to me, I could see exactly who she was.
……’You have to be kidding me. Is Bellatrix fucking Black infront of me right now?’
****************
Turns out, yes, she was, and I was her child. That was certainly a weird thing to come to terms with. I had several things to accept now apparently. One that I was in a different world or at least in the past as a wizard. Or is it a witch? I would probably never see my parents again, not that I knew who they were anymore really. Which was also horrifying in several ways.
Another thing I had to deal with, being an infant with an adult mind was absolutely horrendous. It was so boring. I know newborns are supposed to sleep a lot, but I have a mind to think with man, and when I’m not asleep, I’m dealing with constant boredom. And dread
Yeah it wasn't the best to know that wizarding Hilter was just…. Running around right now. From what I had gathered, it was winter, 1980. So, I was about the same age as Harry Potter, but the Godric Hollow events wouldn’t happen for another year. The question was, how would my existence affect the timeline?
Would Bellatrix be different? Probably not, I've heard her ranting about mudbloods already, not a great vibe, especially since I've been here for at most two weeks. Would Dumbledore read my mind? Definitely, I should avoid eye contact and research Occlumency quickly. Then again, I doubt even the madwoman was Lestrange (or not Lestrange? The woman named Sienna seemed to be her lover. Not entirely sure what was going on there, and how they made me, honestly not something I'll have to worry about for about two more decades.)
If you couldn’t tell, I've been awfully bored for the past few weeks. Not much to do when an infant, as I've said.
I guess I'll have to plan. Top of the list: Get close with Harry when the time comes. Don’t want to be a death eater, mothers' choices be damned. Not that Bellatrix was my mother, but then again, I couldn't remember my own.
Maybe I should write it out somewhere…. Once I learn how to write again, it's gonna suck so bad, with shaky kid hands. At least English will be the same.
The ‘Try Not to Die In Harry Potter Universe List’
1. Make sure to be on the light side
2. Master spells as early as possible, especially more useful ones like stupefy, expecto patronum, epsky, and as many others as I can think of.
3. Maybe turn into an Animagus? Seems like a useful skill.
4. Destroy horcruxes as soon as possible (what to do about Harry? Not a clue. Figure it out later.)
5. Explore and learn as much as I can. My existence certainly isn’t canon, so I might as well learn the other things that aren’t as well.
6. Don’t die
