Lindsay takes care of Danny after Snow Day. She brings him home from the hospital after his overnight stay due to broken ribs and possible concussion.
She brings him to his place where she’s already set up the couch with extra blankets, two bottles of water, and a trashcan.
“You didn’t have to do this.”
“You literally saved me from that, the least I can do is nurse you back to health.”
Danny tries to brush her off, “Awhhhhhhhh, you don’t have to do that.”
“I know.” She looks at him, love pouring from her eyes, “but I want to. Now come on. I think the Yankees are playing today.”
“You wanna watch baseball with me?” He asks incredulously. “The woman who two weeks ago asked me if the quarter back was gonna get a goal?”
“Well, you convinced to try it again.”
“You’re spoiling me, you knwo that?” He says, lifting his arm for her to snuggle into him.
“Maybe you deserve it.” She whispers, kissing his cheek before turning her attention back to the TV.
She spends the next couple of days cleaning Danny’s apartment, changing his bandages, and cuddling with her lover while they’re both off work. She has to go back sooner because she’s not injured. She reluctantly goes back to work, leaving Danny some surprises.
Including but not limited to: his favorite gatorade stocked up in his fridge, numerous easy snacks in arms reach in his cupboards, an empty trash can, no dishes left dirty, a pizza delivery that night that he did not place, and new towels in the bathroom because ‘his crusty ones were not conducive to healing.’
He felt entirely grateful for his girlfriend’s hard work. Even more so when he discovered his favorite meal in the fridge, with a note from Lindsay, telling him to enjoy his sick day.
