Chapter Text
nights with rain hide whispers of you
the wind passing in my ears
fog covers my gaze
a dark, misty, haze
black cars patrol the streets
as you bury 'neath your cotton sheets
warmth and the smell of flowers, nostalgia holding great power
you purchase memories, bottled in glass
tiny labels, fashioned of brass
you wake in cold sweats,
haunting images flash of your past
and in the end one final whisper to end a man's days, a whistle of a sparrow with a knowledgeable gaze.
