Work Text:
Sam stood in front of the mirror of her cramped bathroom, staring at what she couldn't believe was herself, as the tackey floral patterens on the walls watched her pathically trying to sort her shit out.
She was wearing a sparkly, rainbow dress that looked like it could be an outfit of one of the dolls Jessica owned when they were little. Especially, with the white belt she had just put on; the gold buckle adding a extra shine to the outfit, that Sam though was absolutely unneccessary. She sighs and rebrushes her wavy hair for what feels like the hundredth time, she knows Kelly wouldn't care no matter how messy she looked, but that doesn't seem to concern her anxiety.
She walks into a substantially vast room considering how cheap-looking the town is; adequate is not even close to a word Sam would use to describe the quality of the town. There already are a group of possibly fifteen people, amongst them stood Kelly holding a wine glass in that peculiarly posh way of her's.
Sam felt emotionally nauseous being here, the walls swaying back and forth as her perfect beacon of light talked to people Sam couldn't be bothered to give a fuck about. In Sam's mind she's still a little kid fighting to be who she currently is, as she constantly bleeds bright orange liquid, it's like melted wax and it's in every part of her. Her dreams and hopes melting, she slowly drowns in everything she hoped to be, the orange filling her lungs. And there stands her beautiful princess, and she's walking over to her and Sam finds herself back in reality.
Kelly had a strapless, baby blue dress on, that was slightly too tight and hanging only bearly below her knees.
"Are you just stand there or are going to join the rest of us in the real world," Kelly laughed, teasing Sam just a little. "You know this place is surprisingly cool."
Sam looked around little more, there was a banner on the wall that was celebrating the grand opening of the club. The floor was covered in brighly coloured tiles; mostly orange ones. It actually looked decently acceptable. Although, she responds with the sarcastic remark of, "I suppose this town really can do something right."
She wouldn't admit that she actually found it quite favourable. It wasn't over-the-top; it had a mild feeling to it, people talked softly in their own groups. There was no need for loud music and energetic dancing as everyone pushes up against each other in a horrible way that Sam hopes to never experiance here.
Kelly graps Sam's arm and pulls her over to the drinks bar, they pour themself some of the free punch; which Sam can't even believe, they're just giving it out for free! After they capitalise the punch, they find a nice, empty patch of wall to stand by and do nothing by talk about completely irrelevant topics.
After a couple hours Kelly leads Sam onto the dance floor, Sam spins Kelly around as they both laugh. The moment is pure, it has a certain serenity to it, as they dance and nothing really matters but the moment itself.
Sam remembers Kelly telling her that she hopes that they'll meet over and over again in every universe, Sam stays skeptical of the multiverse, but it's a nice thought. The two them personally destined to be together by the stars, fovever intertwined.
