Work Text:

Chanel was walking around the innermost parts of the leisure centre, she was unsure. She didn't want to do much nor have to do the hassle of killing someone who would pester her on her journey to find answers, answers of how and why the mafia dragged everyone into this place. She wanted answers and she would get them, and one way or another she would.

Fallon just so happened to be wandering through those very same halls that Chanel was walking through, she felt solemn and that could be visibly seen on her face. She didn't have much purpose in the mafia as she couldn't be put on most missions, almost as if her unluckiness caused her to disrupt the plans of the organization she had once called her so called home.

Both of them took step by step, maybe exploring the other places at different times. Fallon didn't know what to do, Chanel knew what she wanted to do. Both of them walked closer and closer to the inevitable fate of them encountering each other. They stopped walking to a halt, The two of them saw each other. They... Didn't know how to feel, how to react about them meeting each other... Once more, maybe twice more.

But... They had one reason to live, and that reason was to kill anyone disturbing them.

They both froze in place with a look of horror on their faces, Fallon held her breath as if she was waiting for something to happen to either of them. Chanel gripped the knife she held behind her back, although both of them didn't want to betray each other. They had to. They had to or else both of them would end up in trouble. But it was better than one of them dying than both of them dying together.

"I-I... Chanel, what... Are you doing here? You're not supposed to be here." Fallon held out her free hand as the other was holding her free arm, her voice croaked as it had a clear voice crack. Both of them felt shock as they thought the other wasn't supposed to be here. "I could ask the same thing... What are you doing here?" It was a mix of confusion and even fear in Chanel's voice. I should've killed her the first day we met.

Fallon's mind went blank, Chanel's mind was racing with thoughts about it herself. She put the knife she held behind her back into her pockets. She then gripped the gun that was in her other pocket, she didn't want to do this. She didn't want to kill Fallon, Fallon in the mean while was just... Standing still. She opened her mouth as she reached out but then closed her mouth. She then put away her arm, it also went into her pockets and guess what was in there. Another gun!.. Jokes aside.

Both of them knew what they had to do, after all. They were sent on this mission for a reason, to kill the other, to kill the slower one. The two of them pulled out their weapons, holding it at each other. They were scared, afraid. Just anything that could describe a sense of dread and fear. The once shining, pale, yellow stars in Fallon's eyes, were now just... Dull. Just dull.

They both wanted to pull the trigger on each other, finish the mission and live another day. But they both just couldn't, they didn't want to kill one another. They just couldn't, tears started to well up in Fallon's eyes as she set the gun down on the floor. Well not exactly set, she threw it on the floor behind her. She couldn't do it, but Chanel could. The sound made her yelp and shoot.

The bullet hit Fallon, she coughed out blood as the bullet struck her. She herself wasn't even sure where it hit her, but she knew only one thing after that... That day would be her last, no one coming to save her. Just an old "friend". Maybe someone she loved, more than anyone ever could love a girl like Chanel.

Chanel didn't realise what she had just done, she put her gun back in her pocket and looked down at the floor where Fallon was lying in a pool of her own blood, the sorority president was in shock. She didn't know why, she didn't know how. She rushed over to Fallon's side where the other girls breathing got shallower and shallower with every breath she took. Blood trickled from the corners of her mouth as her eyes looked up at Chanel.

Chanel couldn't do anything, neither could Fallon. Chanel sobbed as she held Fallon's hand, it was surprisingly warm considering the girl got cold easily. Tears streaked down her face, mixing with the blood on the floor. Fallon gave one last glanced before smiling at her. Slowly closing her eyes as the feeling of her heartbeat faded away.

Chanel was on her knees, almost begging for Fallon to miraculously wake up again and be all happy and help what used to be of an independent girl, was now just a sobbing mess of a mourning woman. She didn't want to be left alone, she wanted to be with Fallon. And so she took out the gun again.

She pressed it against her head, her hand was shaking so bad it could barely stick to the side of her head. The bloody silk of her glove pulled the trigger again, she felt a sharp pain go through her head. Blood came out of the other side of her head, she fell besides Fallon's body. She reached out her arm one last time, and her fingers seemed to intertwine with the Baker's. She felt at peace, knowing she would join Fallon again. Her vision blurred before she closed her eyes as well.

Goodbye Fallon, Maybe in the next life. I'll get to stay with you, as long as we both can. Once more... I miss you and you miss me. I know that...
