Work Text:
On one of those nights, Franz and his gang—consisting of Aru, Kuron, the Spy, and Natsu from Sukhavati in the Kingdom of Dante—met in the wasteland near Waruland to visit the Officer. However, by mistake, they took another officer instead. The problem was that they couldn't tell the officers of Waruland apart because they looked so identical; the only way to distinguish between them was by their voices.
The officer yelled,
"I've been kidnapped!!!"
so loudly that those around heard him.
"There's a noise over there,"
"Let me move."
The two guards ran toward the source of the commotion. Franz and his group fled hurriedly toward Kuron's carriage. Thus began the legend of the Golden Man, Franz, and the Grey Dwarf, Kuron.
The officer was stunned by them, and according to the testimony of this abducted officer, he gave his colleagues an accurate description of them.
From that moment on, they became the talk of the town and a laughingstock all at once.
The news even reached King Felix and King Waro, drawing the ire of Jack of Spades. Waru was furious about the matter and reprimanded Felix, but Felix's reaction was sarcastic and indifferent. Kuromaku also heard the news and didn't bat an eye, even as it reached every corner of Kurugrad.
Kuron's colleagues began taunting him at every opportunity with the story of the kidnapping legend.
However, Kuron's blacksmith was drawn to the matter and wanted to try being kidnapped himself, just to witness the legendary duo, Kuron and Franz, abduction of Waruland's officers.
At night, the blacksmith hid in a wooden crate inside Kuron's carriage.
Kuron and Franz's gang went to the same spot in the wasteland as before. This time, they told the Officer to come... Before the Officer reached the vicinity of the main gate, the gatekeeper teased him,
"Do you want to get kidnapped by them too?
Hahaha... I can't believe they abducted someone, hahaha... What losers, hahaha."
The Officer hesitated to proceed, fearing for his reputation lest it be tarnished by this famous legend.
Meanwhile...
The gang was waiting for their Officer. As Franz and Kuron stepped away to walk together, the blacksmith climbed out of the carriage crate to catch his breath, since the crate was completely unventilated. The blacksmith had been listening to them the whole time, treating it as a delightful and unique experience.
Suddenly, the Spy, Aru, and Natsu panicked.
They tried to hide the blacksmith from Kuron, knowing Kuron's fiery temper, and wanting to ensure no one noticed another Kurugradian in the carriage.
Kuron and Franz returned to the carriage. Fortunately, they didn't notice the blacksmith's presence. The carriage started up and hit the road.
As they traveled, the silence of the night was suddenly shattered by Waro's motorcycle—which he had summoned using his generator—speeding right behind their carriage. Aru noticed that someone was pursuing them. It was indeed King Waru, deadly serious this time, desperate to defend his kingdom. He pointed his lethal weapon at them, firing rounds as he gave chase, though ultimately he failed to capture them.
Waro shouted in a furious, indignant, and desperate voice,
"You will pay for this!!!"
And so, Franz and Kuron remained anonymous to the people of Waruland.
