Subaru was frankly… uncomfortable to say the least. He was defending his silver haired heroine from libel, but may have gotten slightly carried away and declared himself to be the Knight of the half elf Candidate.
One knight(?), standing barely 4’ tall, entered the scene, with shining hair of violet, and two prominent cat-like ears on either side of the head. Having taken a particular offense and stumbled through. “Wu campt say thwat. Thwats mwean. Knights Stwong. Knight hwave dwignity. Fwight me”
“Um… what?”
“Fwight me.”
“Listen, umm… i'm not fighting a child.” The raven haired teen said, moments before the crowd erupted in anger.
“He dares insult us even further?” “The gall to refer to the finest of Knights as a mere child!”
Locking eyes with the boy, the purple haired kittens face turns sour and they yell once more, “FWIGHT ME!”
And a few very bewildering moments later, Subaru was suddenly in a coliseum of sorts, frankly still unsure of what was actually happening.
Reinhardt approached the purple haired kitten, “Julius, you shouldn’t do this,” He warned. At least Rein was making sense. “It's not like you.”
“Hwe shed sum bad thwings and twat is a mweanie”
“I admit he said some things that went too far, but for such a matter he only need to be warned and corrected.”
“NWUH-UH,” whined the kitten back at them before looking back at Subaru. “I wamma kwill wu bwut it wud mwake mwiss Emwi’ia-chan swad,” they say before raising a wooden practice sword at Subaru, almost falling over in the process.
Felix handed a matching sword to Subaru, who bewilderedly asked, “You really can't be going along with this can you?” losing respect for Felix in real time.
The blue wordlessly walks away with a shiteating grin on his face as the cat apparently known as Julius says “Argh wu weady?”
“Like I said, I'm not doing this.”
“Two bwad.” Said the small feline, charging their way to Subaru slowly.
The Teen takes a slight step to the left, and dodges the strike, resulting in Julius stumbling, and the entire crowd erupts.
Reinhard, observing from a distance, is in shock. How did he so easily predict and evade Julius's strike? No wonder the sword reacted so harshly to him.
Julius winds up another attack, and swings the sword aiming at Subaru's shin, and Subaru takes a step backwards, the weight of the sword causing Julius to fall and hurt his ankle, and the crowd goes silent.
“GWAH,” screams Julius, stumbling to get back up on his feet. “Hwohw are wu doing thwissssss,” he cries. “WU WARNT SWUPOSSED TWO WINN”
“hey… you good?” Said the boy, not yet comprehending the situation at hand.
“GWAAWAWAW,” winced the pained demi-human, before swinging the sword, clearly pushing himself to stand on the injured leg.
“Listen, if you need to stop we can stop… you don't need to push yourself okay?”
“Bwuttt… our dwignity as Knights… *sniff sniff* and wu rwar a mweaine” the boy says between his attacks.
“Alright, Julius was it? Please don't keep pushing yourself. I really don't want to see you hurt yourself.”
“I nweed two win… I… nweed two bwuhee the best… I… hwalf to…” the kitten cried, almost out of breath.
Subaru locks eyes with the boy, crying his heart out, and feels a wave of guilt wash over him. His gaze lands on the little kitten boys' little leg before he returns it to the sobbing visage of the determined purple haired boy. Quickly he comes up with a plan to help them stop crying.
*thud* The sword welded by the finest of Knights, has finally made contact with the raven teen, who immediately shouts out, “Hah, finally trying huh, mister Knight?” Before Subaru draws his sword for the first time in the battle.
The entire crowd erupts in cheers. Of course the Kingdoms finest of Knights was merely going easy to warm him up. As expected of the most honorable of the royal guard.
Julius, still hurt and struggling to stand, takes a slash at Subaru who blocks it singlehandedly before quickly bracing himself to attempt a riposte. Julius accounts for this and manages to adjust the angle resulting in Subaru's blade sliding across it and giving the perfect opportunity of attack for Julius to finally plunge the blade straight into the heart of the fool who dared besmirch the reputation of the Knights of the Kingdom of Lugunica, finally ending this duel once and for all.
"Ah. You have bested me, small knight. You truly are the strongest in the land”
“Dwid I do it… I… I DWID IT” the young Demihuman exlaimed, before quickly falling to his knees. He truly was the Finest of Knights.
