Here she was roly poly, sitting on a tree branch sweating her ass off. she had thought about it for months but being a little too scared to actually do it most likely because Ray was the first one she gave her trust to and she didn't die overnight, but still here she was sitting on a tree branch, 3:00 a.m. and thinking how to pop the big question to her beloved.
Ray's family had high standards to say the least considering her dad was the trident and the fact that they were considered royalty to other gods, other than the goddess of land which no one knows her name. not to mention they were rich like really rich. they lived in a mansion at the bottom of the ocean how is she going to compete with that!!! I mean roly poly is a Roly poly who lives in the woods not some fancy Stingray!!!
But that was a problem for tomorrow honestly she just wanted to sleep she would seek some help from banana tomorrow but right now she just needed a calm herself to go to sleep and that's just what she did
The next day come and Roly poly did exactly that she called up banana and met at a little cafe and let's just say he went straight to business
" Roly poly going to be completely honest with you right now. DO IT!! like today" Roly poly was mortified "today!!!" she screamed but quickly shut up noticing the people looking at her "today!?" she whispered yelled repeating herself "banana I don't even have a ring!!" "okay then we'll buy one" "banana we can't-" "nope don't give me that come on let's go" he said while standing up and grabbing her wrist
Banana walked her out of the coffee shop and straight to a random ring store "banana I don't even know her ring size!" roly poly told him when they walked into the store "don't sweat it girl I have her ring size, and personally I think she would like a diamond ring nothing too special but I know she'll love it"
Roly poly (as expected) didn't have money, like basically none. but banana did, and apparently he's been saving up money for this day. as much as roly poly was it against doing it today she eventually caved in and bought a beautiful diamond ring that sparkled whenever any type of light touched it. she managed to get it the metal in the color teal which shocked her a lot and honestly she thought it was perfect but she couldn't say that Ray thought the same cuz she wasn't here.
Roly poly knew the ring wasn't expensive, one of the reasons why she was so nervous but the other reason was trying to find the perfect spot to do it and she found it.
"Banana where would I even do it?" she asked him while walking out of the ring store "hmmm I'd say that beautiful spring that survived the fire from the war" roly poly thought about it, and honestly he was right. that place was her sanctuary it brought her Joy so why not combined it with another thing that brought her unimaginable Joy.
Roly poly called up Ray and told her where to meet, and without hesitation Ray agreed! it was a little sudden to her concerning the fact that they would meet up in 3 hours she was still excited
Once Ray and roly Poly met up they sat down on a really Crooked tree in front of the body of water that was in the spring. Ray had only been there around five different times. she know how much a men to Roly Poly so she never pushed her to take her there. they talked for a little while, (around 30 minutes) until roly poly thought that it was the perfect time.
Ray was laughing at a cheesy joke that Roly poly told. roly poly was practically hypnotized by her laugh, her beautiful soft voice, her tail shooting upwards and curving at the end to show her happiness, the way she put one of her hands on her forehead, Ray was just so perfect♡. she slipped herself off the tree and stood in front of it. Ray (when she stopped laughing) noticed and slipped off too, walking to the side of her as roly poly faced her once she got to her.
"Ray there's been something I've been meaning to ask you for a few months now" Roly poly said putting her hand on her neck, looking away for a second right before looking back at Ray. "okay what is it?" Ray said. her tail shaping a question mark.
Roly poly softly took Ray's hands in her own as she began to speak. "Ray you're the best thing that has ever happened to me you spent 15 years gaining only my trust and slowly my love to show me that your trustworthy enough you showed me love patience and years of trying and failing and trying even more just the show that you wouldn't die overnight like every other person I've given my trust to you've shaped me into the person I am to this day you sat through every family dinner you comforted me when I cried had you had me meet your family even knowing what they could do and that is something that younger me couldn't imagine me doing so please Ray give me the honors of asking you this" (I'm not adding punctuation to this)
Roly poly got down on her left knee Letting Go of her hands in the process as she slowly reached into her non-existent pocket to pull out the beautiful diamond ring banana helped her pick out.
"Ray will you marry me" Roly poly said with the biggest Gran you'll ever see. Tears pricking at the edge of her eyes
Ray stayed silent before laughing like a maniac. but... the laugh was slightly flustered with pure joy overtaking a part of it. Roly poly was completely stunned has she said something wrong did she kneel on the wrong knee did Ray think she was a joke!!! but it was none of that Ray reached into her own non-existent pocket and pulled out a dark gray ring custom made, and it was a lot more expensive than roly polys.
Roly poly was stunned as Ray finally stopped laughing wiping tears from her eyes roly poly stood up off her knee as she let a smile over take her face "yes I will with all my heart" Ray yelled while pulling roly poly into her arms Roly poly hug back without any hesitation but right before they could kiss she stopped Ray and grabbed her hand slowly slipping the teal ring she picked out for her on her left hand ring finger Ray did the same once Roly poly was done that's when roly poly suddenly lift up Ray pulling her into a kiss (which is a little surprising concerning the fact that she's half her size for pretty obvious reasons ps I'm not putting punctuation on this too)
As the newly engaged couple enjoyed their time hugging and kissing each other, behind a bush banana kneeled peeking over smirking. as a glanced over to his boyfriend Coco also smirking they had planned this from the start. Coco convincing Ray to propose to roly poly, and banana convincing roly poly to propose to Ray. as I looked at each other they whispered "everything goes according to plan"
