A Christmas to remember
The sun was going down fast and it was getting cold. Touya was on his way back to the League's hideout, hands in his pockets and facing the ground, trying to avoid any unwanted attention from civilians that could attract heroes. That was a difficult task during the holidays, what with all the Christmas lights and the people that seemed to never leave the streets. Everyone was out doing last minute Christmas shopping and the jolly, slightly panicked atmosphere made the villain inside him want to vomit. Dabi hated the holiday season, but Touya had grown fond of the gatherings at the hideout with the League.
He reached the building and hesitated at the back door; A tiny spark of hope grew in his chest, but he brushed it off immediately.
He's probably celebrating with the heroes, he thought to himself, he's not dumb to spend Christmas Eve with a bunch of villains.
He took a deep breath and opened the door.
“Oi, Dabi! Where've you been? We were just about to exchange presents!” Twice exclaimed as soon as Touya stepped inside.
Toga, curled up in the corner, started giggling; that creepy, crazy laugh of hers.
“What?” Touya raised an eyebrow. She was acting more suspicious than usual.
“Oh, nothing…”
Mischief shone in her eyes.
Touya rolled his eyes and sat on the trashed sofa.
“Where's Shigaraki?” he asked, looking around.
“He's…meeting with someone. He'll be back soon.” Kurogiri said in his almost robotic, deep voice.
Touya shrugged and lied back, putting his arms under his head.
“So, gifts?” he suggested and Toga and Twice jumped up in excitement.
“Yours first, yours first!” Toga giggled again and Touya grew even more suspicious.
“Ok…”
“It's in the other room, go see what it is!” Twice explained happily.
Touya got up, curious to see what the 2 had planned. A prank? Possibly. He shrugged and went towards the other room. He slowly pushed the door open and looked inside. A gasp left his lips before he burst out laughing.
“Hawks?” he exclaimed in disbelief.
The #2 hero was tied up with red ribbon and a red bow was placed in his hair, making him look like a wrapped present. Hawks laughed too.
“Merry Christmas, Dabi.” he smiled widely.
Touya was stunned. He just stood there and stared at the man sitting across the room, wrapped in ribbon just for him.
“Could you, um, unwrap me, please?” Hawks said with a laugh.
“Oh, right, sorry!” Touya walked up to him and untied him, then helped him up.
“Hi.” he whispered as Hawks’ face came close to his.
“Hi.”
They stared into each other's eyes for a long moment, then Touya leaned in for a desperate kiss. They kissed for what felt like eternity, yet when they pulled away, Touya felt as if it'd only lasted one second.
“What are you doing here?” he finally asked, “I thought you heroes would spend Christmas Eve together, with All Might dressing up as Santa Claus and everything.”
Hawks chuckled.
“I'd much rather spend it with you than with a bunch of people who pretend to care about me. You are my family, not them.”
Touya would blush if his skin wasn't completely ruined.
“Come on, the others are waiting for us.” Hawks said, taking Touya's hand and leading him back to the main room.
“So?” Spinner asked, smiling.
“Thank you guys, I love it.” he said with a wide grin.
And I love him, he thought but didn't say anything else.
They both sat down on the sofa next to Mr. Compress, who'd been watching them the whole time.
“How long have you two been together?” he asked.
They exchanged a quick look.
“Err, 2 months?” Hawks shrugged and Touya laughed.
“Yeah, that's about right.” he nodded.
That's when the door opened and Shigaraki walked in. He scanned the room and his eyes stopped on Touya. Taking a deep breath, he turned around and whispered something to the person standing behind him before stepping in without them.
Touya raised a curious eyebrow.
“Hello everyone, there's someone I'd like you all to … meet.” he said almost under his breath.
“You say it as if we already know him.” Touya joked, his curiosity growing.
“Well…” Shigaraki sighed and turned around to open the door, letting the person standing outside walk in the room.
Touya's smile dropped.
“Natsuo?!” Touya jolted up.
“Hey Tou…” Natsuo waved awkwardly at him.
Touya was speechless. What was his brother doing here?
“Do you guys know each other?” Hawks asked and the rest of the League murmured in agreement.
“Oh we know each other alright.”
Everyone looked at the two brothers as they stared each other down.
“I know this looks weird but let's just spend a peaceful Christmas Eve all together, no fighting.” Shigaraki broke the silence, attracting Touya's attention.
“You're dating my brother and you want me to be cool about it?” Touya exclaimed.
“Your brother?!” six pairs of eyes turned to look at the Todoroki siblings.
“Yes, my real name is Todoroki Touya, but that's not relevant right now.” Touya tried to brush it off, but Hawks stood up.
“Hold on, you're Endeavor's lost son?”
He looked betrayed. Touya knew Hawks had looked up to Endeavor his entire life, so the news of his boyfriend being the son of his hero must've been big.
“Hey, I barely know anything about you and I've never even asked for your real name. Why should I tell you mine?” Touya shot back.
Everything about this was wrong. His boss was dating his brother, his boyfriend admired his father who he'd resented his entire life, and his friends have hated his family since forever, because they were heroes.
He took a deep breath and fell on the sofa.
“Ok, Shigaraki is right. We'll sort all this shit out after Christmas. Now let's just … have fun.” he sighed, defeated. He couldn't deal with all this at once.
Hawks looked at him, eyes sad.
“Sorry” he whispered in his ear. “My name's Keigo. Keigo Takami.”
Touya smiled.
“Nice to meet you, Keigo. I'm Touya.” he leaned in and kissed Keigo on the cheek.
“Get a room, you two…” Shigaraki said, rolling his eyes.
Natsuo stared at them in disbelief.
“You-” he started but Touya raised his index finger to shut him up.
“I said we'll talk later. Now we celebrate.”
They all laughed.
“Guys! It's almost midnight and we still haven't exchanged our gifts!” Twice jumped in.
“Right!” Toga exclaimed.
“My turn, My turn!” she started jumping up and down.
Touya looked at them all as they rushed to give out the presents and as chaos erupted once the clock struck 12.
This is my family, he thought to himself, I couldn't have asked for anything better.
