Told You So

Summary:

Jay is bullied because he's single. His hot boyfriend says otherwise.

Work Text:

Jay stood in line, earbuds crooked. He held his breakfast tray with the sort of energy that said, "I Know What's About to Happen and I Hate It."

The girls behind him giggled and shrieked, eyes scanning him.

Eventually, one of the girls, Samatha, your stereotypical blonde popular girl popped her gum at him, starting a conversation.

"So, Jay, what's it like dating the 'hottest man to walk the Earth'?" she mocked, her friends whispering behind their hands. Sometimes Jay wanted to punch them in their perfect teeth.

Instead, he rolled his eyes and moved forward. "Well, pretty good to be honest." Much better than this conversation. But to be honest, anything is.

Samatha punched his shoulder, "You are so funny, cuz I swear, I thought he didn't exist. You know, Jay Walker and his overactive Imagination once again."

Jay held in his weakening desire to slit her throat, then and there. He didn't grace her with a reply, hands tightening on the cardboard tray.

And this went on. All freaking DAY. And Jay was pissed.

Eventually, Lunch, the savior that it is swooped in and saved Jay from the fate of having to make sure Samatha's boyfriend can no longer use HIS imagination. Or his mind. But it's not like he was using that anyways.

Jay rushed through the halls, setting a new personal record, slumping next to Nya, his ex who are still on good terms.

Nya patted his back, "I know. I want to punch his lights out too. You're not the only one."

Jay groaned. "She's just so annoying. Just this once? No one has to tell Master Wu about it."

"You and I both know he'd find out, one way or another. I swear, that man must have some all-seeing eyes or something because ..." The rest of Nya's words went in and out of Jay's brain because if he pissed before? Now he was royally ticked off. And Jay wasn't even a royal!

Samatha and her goons (goonettes?) strutted by him. She "accidently" tilted her lunch tray over Jay's head, milk running down his back in rivers and sweet potato fries decorating his head like a foody crown.

"Oops!" she snickered, blue eyes filled with malice and hate.

Nya rose to her feet, and don't ask him what happened or what was said, but he remembered enough. Like, up to the point where him and Nya were in the principal's office. Jay toned out most of his words, but he remembered "suspended", "don't aggravate", which is stupid because Samatha and her goonerettes started it firsts. (That's what he should call them! God he's so smart.) Nya, the badass that she is, didn't hesitate to argue with their principal's absurd logic.

He was standing outside the door with Nya, who was doomscrolling on her phone. She held her bag up with tired confidence. Jay was not confident. "Nya, where are we going?" she looked up, face blank.

"I may have forgotten about that bit but it's fine, I'll just call Cole." She rang his phone up. Cole was the only one in the group who was legally allowed to drive. Jay and Nya had been caught too many times with Cole's license. Also, he had a day off today! So, it would be fine, hopefully. He didn't want to interrupt anything, if his boyfriend was busy, then he'd just wait in the cold with Nya. For an hour. But it's fine.

"I just woke up, let me get my coffee first." Nya put the phone on speaker mode and Jay heard the tinny steps of his beloved Cole walk towards his prized coffee machine. They waited until Cole smacked his lips, yawning.

"What do you guys need?" he muttered, throwing on his coat. Nya didn't call Cole for just anything.

"We need someone to pick us up." Nya replied.

"On it. Be there in 20." He hung up, reaching for the keys on the standby the door.

Jay went to sit on the stairs, swinging his legs. The bell eventually rang, while Nya fell asleep on the walls, snoring softly. He didn't know how she could do that.

A hand shoved him in the back. Jay forced himself to look like he was shoved over. "What the frick?"

Of course. Of fucking course, Alex Russo of all people had to start something now when he was already bloodthirsty and his patience was thin.

Jay gave a fake groan. 'First Spinjistu Master, please forgive me for what I'm about to do.'

But before Jay had the chance to give Alex Russo the fight of his life (or the one ending it), when a familiar car pulled up. Jay knew this car like the back of his mind. Black, sleek and everyone was now looking.

"Who owns that?" he heard one of Samatha's goonerettes whispered.

Then the door opened and Jay swooned. Mentally, (maybe a bit externally but who had to know). Nya woke up startled and quickly strode over.

"Took you long enough." She muttered, belting herself in.

Cole turned to him and Jay would never get tired of those thoughtful, emotional mocha brown eyes. Not now, not ever.

"Bluebell, you ready?" He asked, tilting his head.

Jay looked behind him, the clique behind him in awe and jealously. He grinned. "Always have been."

Cole then did something very romantic. [Or not, I've never been in a romantic relationship.] He picked up Jay gently, bridal style, carrying him away to the car. Jay turned his head to Samatha and flipped her off, making eye contact. She backed off first, which he was really smug about internally.
