“You're gonna have to apologize sooner than later, Proud.” LaCienega said as she was trying to convince Penny to apologize for something she obviously did wrong–yelling at her. You see, they got into a minor altercation that turned into a screaming match in less than a second. Penny's words were throat-cutting; she didn't intend to be so harsh on her girlfriend, but shit happens.
That's why she found herself sitting on LaCienega's front porch like a kicked puppy.
“You really hurt her feelings.”
“As if you know what feelings are, you don't even have none,” Penny sneered, drawing her knees close to her chest, “I'd rather play Double Dutch in highway traffic.”
“You are so unbelievable.” LaCienega groaned, now yanking Penny up on her feet. “Okay, that's it! If you don't drag your feet over to her house, then I'll do it for you.”
Penny tried to release the grip from her forearm. “Is this really necessary?!”
“Yes.”
“Oh my God.”
“You can complain later.” LaCienega rolled her eyes before taking Penny's wrist, but the girl didn't protest at all.

“Oh, hello girls!” Barry greeted them, now noticing Penny via body language, her arms crossed, “LaCienega, what's wrong with her?”
“Apparently, the two of them had a small fight–” Penny nudged her in the ribs with an eye roll, “We had a teensy tiny fight, not as big as she's implying it. But yeah, where's Maya?”
“In her room,” LaCienega nodded and went straight for the stairs, Penny still in tow, whatever was going on between them, they're gonna settle it for themselves.

“Can't you go away?” Maya said, her voice muffled by the pillow that was wet by her tears, LaCienega sighed and raised her hands in surrender, “I come bearing gifts,” she said sarcastically, “but seriously Maya, Penny's here and she's gonna apologize.”
Penny rolled her eyes. “Yeah,” she snorted, “by choice. I was practically dragged by Miss Armstrong over here, she wouldn't stop throwing obscenities at me in Spanish.”
“It was deserved.”
“No it wasn't.”
“It was.”
Maya cleared her throat. “Did y'all forget that I was here? I want my apology and we'll be cool again.”
“See?” LaCienega grinned, very unhinged, “Penny, she's an easily forgiving person!"
“She shouldn't be doing this to herself but okay,” Penny took a deep breath before shrugging, “I'm sorry, like, genuinely.”
LaCienega rolled her eyes. “That didn't sound sincere, Proud.”
“It doesn't have to be–”
“It does.” Maya sat up before crossing her arms. “You just can't take accountability for hurting me, can you?”
Penny finally sat down and grabbed Maya's hand, caressing it softly. “I can and I'm going to, I'm really sorry.” She smiled before leaning in to kiss Maya on the cheek where a tear rolled down; and the dark-skinned girl smiled back before hugging her, giggling, “Thanks for the apology, I forgive you.”
LaCienega made a grossed-out face. “You two are disgustingly cute. I might die from the sweetness,” she cringed after hearing herself saying that, meaning Penny and Maya giggled while continuing to snuggle with each other.
Penny had mouthed “thanks” to the Latina as she shrugged nonchalantly before mouthing “you're welcome, but you owe me” to her friend, and then she walked out the door.
Welp, thank God for LaCienega Boulevardez.
