Work Text:
Warm skin. Slow breaths.
Your chest pressed and squished against hers. Breaths twisting into eachothers necks.
Tired kisses landing wherever is closest.
Noses poking at the roots of hair.
Both taking in the scent there.
You love this.
You know Sevika does, too.
Just always been too tough to admit it.
A rumble breaks the silence that has settled around you two.
"M, damn girl gon'put me to sleep," Sevika grumbles into your ear, yet — her arms squeeze you even closer.
Impossibly so.
"You're gonna put me to death," you giggle with a squished cheek pressed against her shoulder.
One crooked, weary eye blinks down your way. Just barely awake.
"M-mm." She huffs and lets her eyes flutter shut again. The words that follow are slurred, and you struggle to make them out.
"A big'girl, y'll make it."
"I'll make it?" you question, trying to peer at her eyes.
Closed still.
Sleepy.
"Mm. Won't die."
You huff a laugh and jolt her.
That earns a dissaproving grunt.
She doesn't move.
A snore almost starts.
Your wiggles break it.
"Ugh, baby- I love you but you really are suffocating me," you whine and gently bite her shoulder.
Another grumpy grunt — and you're being hauled around. Mandhandled in the most tender way.
And so, the position has changed.
You're now laying on top of her bare back.
It looks ridiculous.
Feels even sillier.
But she seems to enjoy it.
So for her sake, you adjust.
"Whatever you're doin' t'my neck feels amazin'..." Sevika groans and smiles back at you, eyes bleary.
"Yeah?" you giggle, hands working at the knots that have gathered there.
Pressing. Rolling.
Forcing all tense that's left in her, out of her.
Sevika is drooling.
Lips curled in a small leer — saliva staining your pillow.
"You're so cute," you mumble and press a kiss behind her ear.
You catch a small smile.
Then the small brown dot by her temple.
You stare at it before letting your lips come down to press on it, too.
Sevika doesn't question it.
Not the second one.
Nor the third one.
You kissing her numb before bed (or at any other given time) is not out of the ordinary.
The spots are.
"Wha-?"
Sevika tries to roll over.
You push her back.
"No, no, shh... 'm counting," you whisper.
Sevika blinks herself awake.
"Countin' sheep?" she questions.
"Counting stars," you smile and kiss the underside of her nose. Fifteen.
Sevika rolls her nub shoulder with an involuntary, tired wince.
Yawns through her words.
"Stars? Ain't remember havin' many."
"You got plenty," you murmur — and plant yet another kiss, just above the metal ring of her shoulder.
Her eyes glint.
You don't catch it.
Too busy counting still.
You move down the curve of her back — wondering which moles you've pecked and which ones are still yet to be involved.
Her plush skin molds under your hands as you take support.
She gives a signaling grunt whenever you press a spot too sore for the touch.
Your kisses never halt.
Smootch here,
smootch there.
By the time you reach thirty, and mutter it under your breath; Sevika catches on.
"Stars, huh?"
"Stars," you nod, and finally let her roll around.
She does it with a groan.
The blanket tangles by your feet.
You giggle as her hand settles on your waist.
Holding, rubbing.
Her gaze, now a little more awake — focuses on your admiring one.
"Even got this lightning here," you murmur, fingers tracing the blue slash on her left cheek. "Glows in the dark and all."
"Too bad those stars don't," Sevika simpers, toothgap winking at you in the dark.
"I'll still find 'em," you smirk back, and come down to kiss her chin. "Every last one."
Sevika yawns.
Her eyes slip shut again.
One strong arm hugs you close again.
"Mm. Y' promise?"
You tuck a strand of hair behind her ear and smile.
"On all the constellations."
