Chapter Text

“Boys! You gotta believe me, I'm innocent!” Mabel yelled from the back of a cop car, her hands cuffed behind her back.

“I couldn't believe you if I tried.” Ford muttered, watching as the car drove away.

“Ice lolly secured!” said an agent, ripping the treat from Stan's hands.

“Hey! Give it back!” Stan raced after the agent, screaming like an insane chicken.

Ford went back inside, seeing Abbie protecting the vending machine in the gift shop. “Excuse me, Abbie.”

“No! Mrs. Pines said to not let anybody near the vending machine.

“Ford! I got you a popsicle!”Stan yelled as he walked into the gift shop, holding a popsicle covered in grass. “It's from the ice cream dude. I went to the freezer to grab it for you but I dropped it on the ground.”

“Get her arms.” Ford took the popsicle, wiping the grass off. He stuck it in his mouth, darting around Abbie.

“It's A1, B, C3!” Stan shouted, fighting off Abbie. “I saw Graunty May put it in!”

“Got it!” Ford pressed the buttons, the vending machine turning into a door and opening. Ford looked down the stairs, then rushed down with Stan.

“Woah... Wait, this was in the journal...” Ford whispered, looking up at the massive portal. A clock reading 5:21 counted down each second.

“We have to turn it off!” Stan yelled, pressing a button on one of the desks.

Gravity completely failed, causing everything to be lifted for a second.

“Ow! Don't touch anything, Stanley!” Ford yelled, pushing his brother out of the way. “The author wrote about this in the journals!”

“Don't push me! I can do what I want, Stanford!” Stan argued back, rushing to the red button in the middle of the room.

The sound of footsteps came running down the stairs, landing at the bottom with a thud.

“Don't press that button!” screamed Mabel, panting at the doorway. She ran into the room, but suddenly, everything was lifted again.

Mabel and Ford were slammed against the wall and pinned by a metal bar, and Abbie was holding onto a support beam.

Stan held onto the stick the button was on, glaring at Mabel. “Why, Grauntie May, why!?”

“I was gonna say, you're going to hear some bad things about me.” Mabel started.  “Just let go.”

Stan paused, taking his hands off of the stick. “Grauntie May, I trust you.” Stan let go completely, letting himself float in front of the portal.

-

CRASH! Everything came back down, the portal opening as well. A figure stepped through and picked up the first journal, then took off their mask.

“Who's that?” Ford asked, looking at the person in front of them.

“The author of the journals,” Mabel said. “My brother.”
