Work Text:
In the coming night, I strayed from the
forest path and fell into madness.
I welcomed the endless darkness and
prayed that it would swallow me completely.
I pray that it will devour this guilty
emptiness in my chest.
Will I be able to smile when the morning
comes and you’re gone?
Your innocent gaze, your earnest love,
your anguished cry…
That blossom of regret, a milk-white bone
glimmering in the moonlight.
I am not allowed to grieve for you; my
sin can never be forgiven.
No amount of earth can hide the remnant
of violence I carelessly buried.
