Work Text:

Chris sighed, getting off a call with his boyfriend. Sam chewed him out for leaving all of a sudden, and that it was stupid even for him. The nineteen–year–old tried to reason with him that it was Claire they were talking about. His older sister stopped answering his calls a few weeks ago, and when he called Jill, she told him that Claire was fine, just didn’t feel like talking to anyone after what they encountered in the Arkley Mountains. As much as Chris could understand everyone else, he didn’t understand why his sister was ignoring him. Scratch that, Claire wasn’t ignoring him. Something was wrong. However, Sam didn’t understand. It was Chris’ last string. He broke up with the asshole and hung up.
Whenever some shit would go down, his sister would have told him she wouldn’t be calling for a while, but if Chris wanted to, he could come down and visit her. The teenager wasn’t always able to, but at least if Claire didn’t call, he was calm that she was simply recovering physically and mentally from her missions.
From what Chris researched, there were some cannibals in the Arkley Mountains that killed the entire Bravo Team, aside from their rookie, Rebbeca. Most of the Alpha Team died as well, and Chris was saddened when he read well–known names to him. They were Claire’s friends, some of them helped Chris with school back in high school. He couldn’t imagine what his sister must have felt like, but she would never have ignored Chris. No matter what happened.
As he approached his bike, he noticed that some woman was standing and staring into nothing.
“Ma’am? Are you alright?” Chris touched her shoulder and she turned around. Before he could blink, the woman attacked him, weird sounds coming out of her mouth. “What the fuck?!” he yelled when he noticed her eyes. They were white–ish and her skin was grey. She looked like… Like a fucking zombie! The young man struggled, taking out a knife that Claire gave him when she taught him combat a couple of years back. Chris was always joking that she gave him military/cop training for what? For a thief? All that knife combat… Now, Chris was more than grateful for Claire’s overprotectiveness. He killed the woman– no, the thing and ran toward his bike. When he reached the store door, it opened and a man, a very handsome man, a very alive man pointed his gun at him.
“Don’t shoot!” Chris raised his hands to show the blond that he was not dangerous.
“Get down!,” the man screamed, and Chris obliged. He shot the zombie and Chris got up. “You alright?” he looked at the teen.
“Yeah, I think so. Thanks,” Chris looked at the stunning man next to him.
“You can thank me later. When we’re safe,” the blond nodded at the zombies.
“Holy shit,” Chris pulled out his gun. They looked around, the zombies from the station approaching them. The other set of those assholes was pushing at the store door.
“Come on!” the man screamed and Chris looked at him. He ran, and the teen followed him. “Get in!” he yelled, and Chris got into the cop car. “Hold on,” the blond looked at him and reversed the car rapidly.
“What the hell is going on?” Chris asked, breathing heavily. He looked at the man, hoping for some answers. Was he local? Chris had never seen him around Raccoon, but then, he hadn’t visited Raccoon for quite some time. Claire visited him in June, and before she got back to work in July, they drove around the U.S., visiting places together.
“I don’t know,” the blond breathed out, looking as confused as Chris was. “Hopefully, they’ll have some answers at the police station,” he added quickly.
“Wait, you’re a cop?” Chris asked, looking away from the window back at the blond. He would see him at the RPD, wouldn’t he? He visited Claire plenty of times. Maybe the man was from another town?
“Yeah. Leon S. Kennedy. You are?” he asked, stealing a glance at Chris.
“Chris. Chris Redfield,” Chris looked around.
“You live around here?” the man asked, trying to make small talk. Oh, he was hot, sweet, and awkward. Just Chris’ type. Dammit, focus!
“No, I’m looking for my sister. She’s a cop, too,” he said while looking at Leon.
“Well, it’s a good thing we found each other. I don’t know what to expect anymore,” the blond’s eyes kept going from Chris to the road and back. As he said that, they passed the sign that said ‘Welcome to Raccoon City’. The deeper they went in, the more shocked Chris was. How long was it going on? Was that why Jill lied to him and Claire ignored his calls? Were they busy handling it?
The teen looked around, not believing that it was the same town he always visited and used to live in. When he looked at Leon, the man looked just as shocked. It was probably because the blond couldn’t believe how abandoned Raccoon looked like. Not to mention that announcement. It was giving Chris the creeps.
“God, this is so unreal,” Chris said quietly, looking through the window.
“Police station is not much farther. They’ll know something,” Leon said, looking at him again. Chris looked at his feet, facing reality. What if everyone were dead, what if Claire was–
“Yeah, but… What if we’re the only ones?” he asked the painful question, looking at Leon. What if there’s no survivors–”
“No, there’s survivors. It’s a big city… there has to be,” Leon said, his voice determined and hopeful. Chris sighed and looked ahead. They drove in silence until they got to the point where Leon couldn’t keep driving. “Looks like we’re walking from here,” he said, looking at Chris. The younger man frowned, looking out the window. Those things were eating someone. He looked closer as the zombies turned around.
“More like running,” Chris commented, and Leon looked to where the younger man was looking.
“Yeah, good call,” the praise gave Chris shivers over his back. One of those things hit on the door from Leon’s side, spooking both of them.
“Jesus Christ!” Chris yelled. He jumped when another zombie hit the window from his side. “Leon, we gotta back up!” Chris said with fear in his voice. They looked back to see a truck coming right at them. What the fuck? “What the–” the younger man didn’t finish, fear cutting him off.
“Holy shit!” Leon gulped, both of them knowing they were about to die if they didn’t do anything. Claire, I hope you got out of here, Chris thought. “Chris, get out,” Leon said, trying to keep calm. “Get out, now!” he screamed. They tried to open the door, but the zombies that were at their door didn’t let them. They were too heavy, they couldn’t open the door. Holy fuck, they were about to die.
“I can’t!” Chris screamed, looking at Leon. The truck was getting closer, it didn’t look like it was going to stop–
“Hold on!” Leon said, gripping the wheel. The truck hit a dozen cars before hitting them, the impact of the hit sending them into another car. Chris groaned, getting out of the car. Before he could see if Leon got out as well, the car blew up, throwing Chris away. He could see that the truck blew up as well. He could only hope that Leon was okay. “CHRIS!” Leon yelled and Chris sighed, relief flooding him. The younger man got up, wheezing. “Chris, you okay?!” the blond asked loudly.
“Yeah!” Chris answered, wiping his face from sweat. “I’m alright! How about you?!” he asked with worry in his tone.
“I can’t stay here! It’s not safe!” he said, and Chris looked around to see a bunch of those things coming his way. The younger man could guess that Leon didn’t have it calm on his side either. The explosion must have got their attention. No louder sounds, got it, Chris thought.
“Go on ahead! I’ll meet you at the station!” Chris screamed.
“I’ll be there!” Leon answered, and the younger man started running. Before he took off, he noticed that he was on the right side of the street. Claire’s apartment, the whole S.T.A.R.S. apartment complex was a little away. Without a thought, he rushed there, hoping to find anything. It was on the way to the station anyway. He searched through his pocket, sighing in relief when he felt the keys to Claire’s apartment. Chris got his gun from his holster and rushed through the herd. He shot as little as possible, wanting to save ammunition. He wasn’t prepared for a zombie apocalypse, so he didn’t take additional ammunition. Chris could only hope Claire would have some in her apartment.
When Chris got to the building, some parts of it were on fire. He frowned and got in there anyway. When he got to the floor Claire was living on, the door was open. He got in, trying to switch the light on. However, there was no power. Chris sighed and reached into his pocket once again, this time to pull out a small flashlight Claire made him promise to have with him at any time. He could almost hear his older sister’s voice in his head, telling him that he never knew when he would need it when Chris laughed about it. All the things Claire taught him? Chris guessed that tonight was the biggest test of it all. If you ever need to use one of the things I taught you, don’t panic. It will give your opponent an advantage. Always breathe before doing anything, Claire’s voice sounded in Chris’ head. He sighed, turning the flashlight on. Claire’s apartment was squeaky clean. What the fuck? His older sister was the messiest person Chris knew, messier than himself. Something was not right.
Chris looked through the apartment, noticing that Claire’s cell phone had new voice messages. He frowned. Maybe she was busy at the station? He played the messages.
You’ve got five new messages. Message one. Sent on September 14, 1998.
Hi, Claire. Sorry I didn’t call back on Friday. Your message seemed like you were in a hurry. I guess you were going on your shift. I gotta go to class, call me later, okay?
Wait. It was the first message he had sent to Claire two weeks ago. What the–
Message two. Sent on September 20, 1998.
Claire, are you okay? You didn’t call me back. I called Jill, and she says you’re okay, just don’t feel like talking to anyone. Is that what you wanted to tell me on Friday? I’m so sorry I didn’t pick up. Please call me as soon as you can.
His second message. Chris felt sick. Jill lied to him, he knew that. But– Claire didn’t listen to the messages, her apartment was clean. Everything was wrong. Where was Claire? Why did she tell Jill to lie to him?
Message three. Sent on September 21, 1998.
Claire, I’m fucking worried. You’re not answering, Jill’s lying to me, and when I called Barry’s house, he was the one to pick up! He told me that after what he had seen, he needed to be with his family. What the fuck, Claire? What happened there? Why are you ignoring me? Are you even alive?
Chris swallowed, blinking away his tears. She didn’t listen to any of the messages. Jill was lying to him. Barry moved. Claire– What the fuck happened to Claire?
Message four. Sent on September 25, 1998.
Claire, I’m worried. If you don’t call me back, I’m coming to Raccoon. Are you okay? Please, call me back.
Message five. Sent on September 28, 1998
Claire, I’m coming to Raccoon. You better be okay when I find you.
His sister clearly wasn’t okay. If she cleaned the apartment, it meant that the older woman was trying to hide something. Chris swallowed again and started searching for any clue that would point to where Claire might be. He searched through her cabinets and everything Chris could think of. The man didn’t find anything, except–
Except when he entered the kitchen, the floor was weird in one place. Chris stopped and kneeled, knocking on the wood. Bingo. He grabbed his knife and took the part out. There were… files? Chris took them out, looking through some of them. Some contained notes, scribbled in Claire’s handwriting.
Umbrella. Europe. France. Check.
Chris frowned. What did his sister want with a pharmaceutical company? He looked at the rest of the notes.
Irons. Corruption? No reaction when I told him about what really happened in the Spencer Mansion.
What? What did she mean by that?
Wesker. Glad that asshole died.
What was his sister on about? She never complained about Wesker. Claire always looked up to the man.
T–Virus. Wasn’t that enough? G–Virus. Is it a strain? Need to look for more. Maybe ask Rebecca?
Chris’ frown deepened. What was T–Virus? And that G–Virus? She must have been onto something. He looked through the rest of the notes and files, only reading each briefly. Chris didn’t have time for a proper read, he still needed to join Leon at the police station and find Claire.
On the other side of the last note was a letter. A letter addressed to Chris.
Chris,
I need to leave I’m sorry Umbrella is corrupted Please, always have your gun on you
Chris,
if you ever find this
I’m sorry.
Chris sniffled, noticing his tear on the letter. He didn’t even realize he was crying. Claire wasn’t here. She left, according to her notes, she left for France. What the hell? Couldn’t she tell him anything? Maybe she wanted to, when she called. Chris would never forgive himself for not picking up that day. He wanted to, but Sam convinced him he could call Claire back–
Chris screamed, throwing the damn files away. He cried and wanted to throw up. He disappointed Claire when all his sister wanted to do was protect him.
Eventually, he wiped his tears away and got up. Chris needed to join Leon, he couldn’t leave him because he couldn’t get a grip. Before he left, Chris went to Claire’s room. Her stuff was there. Chris knew that this city was lost and no one would be coming back here. He grabbed their photo at Claire’s nightstand and took it out of the frame. He folded it and hid it in his jacket pocket. Then, he went into the room that used to be his. He looked at it for the last time and left, saying goodbye to this place.
Chris left the apartment complex and ran toward the side entrance to the station. He ran past herds, only to stop when he noticed a face he knew. Brad. Chris swallowed, looking at his gun. He could pass all of them, but Brad. He was a friend. Chris couldn’t leave him like that–
With tears in his eyes, he shot the man in his head. Chris swallowed and entered the police station yard. He locked the metallic door behind him, ensuring none of those things would get in.
“Leon… I’m sure you beat me here,” he sighed and looked at the yard. Were those… graves? Oh. Oh, Chris was going to get sick–
He managed to calm and move through the yard eventually. When Chris was making his way up the stairs, he could hear a helicopter crashing. He rushed to where it crashed, looking at the locked door. I hope you’re okay, Leon. Chris noticed a cutting tool and picked it up, remembering that one of the doors he passed was chained shut. It must have been his lucky day in his bad luck. Chris noticed Leon looking at the crashing site, smiling in relief.
“Hey! Leon?!” Chris screamed, trying to get the blond’s attention. Leon changed his clothes, now in police gear. The younger man bit his lip, feeling his dick hardening. Dammit, not now! Fuck, that was embarrasing. Chris could only hope Leon wouldn’t notice.
“Chris! Hold on, I’ll be right there!” Leon said. Was that relief in his voice?
“Okay!” Chris smiled. Leon was adorable when worried. Wait. Chris tried to open the door, hoping to open it with force. Maybe, just maybe, he wanted to show off in front of Leon.
“Chris… It’s nice to see you,” the blond said on the other side of the door. Leon placed his hand on the door, a goofy smile on his lips.
“How’re you doing? That helicopter just came out of nowhere…” Chris bit his lip.
“Yeah… I’m in one piece,” Leon said.
“I’m guessing you don’t have a key in one of those fancy pockets?” Chris said with a flirty tone in his voice.
“Unfortunetley, no…” Leon said sadly. “But… How are you doing?” he asked softly.
“You know, just surviving,” the younger man said, not quite convincing.
“That’s good,” Leon chuckled. Oh my fucking– he’s so adorable. “Any luck with your sister?” he asked and Chris looked down.
“No, not yet,” he said quietly.
“I’m sorry,” the blond said and grabbed Chris’ fingers through the door. “Really,” he smiled reassuringly. Chris looked up and noticed that Leon was blushing.
“It’s okay. To be honest, I was scared I would find her dead or… Worse,” he said, looking at their connected fingers.
“Chris, remember not to lose hope. I’m sure we’re gonna find him–” Leon stopped because the helicopter blew up. They got spooked, their fingers separating. The blond turned, looking at the explosion site. “Dammit. You know what it means…” Leon sighed.
“Yeah… Dinner time,” Chris looked at the zombies that were getting up.
“Chris, I think you should go,” the blond said worried.
“Don’t worry about me, Leon. You take care of yourself,” Chris smiled sadly.
“Chris, you need to go–Now!” he screamed, and the younger man turned around, fear painted on his face. Chris walked away a few steps, his gun in his hands. He turned to Leon, looking at him.
“Hey… Let’s get through this. Both of us,” Chris said softly. Leon nodded, and the younger man went away. He rushed through the zombies, the cutting tool heavy on his hips after he caught the bolt cutters on his belt. Chris took them out, cut the chain and went into the room. He could only hope the zombies wouldn’t get in here. Chris smiled when he found some ammunition and the courtyard key. Additionally, he found a hand grenade. Sweet. Chris ran back to where he had seen Leon and opened the door. He threw the keys away, not wanting it to take up his limited space. He opened the door to his left, feeling sick at the sight of dead bodies and bloodied corridor. Did Leon see this earlier? Chris was going to be sick.
The rest of the night was kind of a blur. He had met with Leon in the parking lot after confronting Irons. The blond told him about an FBI agent he had met prior to reuniting with Chris. Leon was so happy to see Chris in one piece, and they looked for the parking lot key card together. It was nice to have someone he could trust by his side.
When they met up with Ada, the woman saving Leon from the big ugly grey motherfucker, Chris didn’t trust her one bit. She was trying to manipulate the blond man, using her good looks to do it, though she seemed annoyed at Chris’ presence, since he took up most of Leon’s attention. Before they left the station, Leon told Ada to wait and dragged Chris back to the station.
“I need to show you something,” the blond smiled. They went up to the S.T.A.R.S. Office that Chris decided to skip on, not wanting to see his sister’s desk. He had cried enough tonight. “I found this,” Leon showed him a letter he had found. Chris read it carefully, frowning with each word. The handwriting was Claire’s, for sure, but… It was as if Claire’s personality did a 360.
“I think it’s a coded letter. We played something like this when I was a kid,” he bit his lip. “But we don’t have time for this. We can’t have Ada waiting–” Chris said, but Leon interrupted him. With his lips. The younger man made a surprised sound before placing his hands on Leon’s hips, pulling him closer.
“I know we just met,” the blond said with a blush when they broke the kiss. “But we can die any second,” he looked away, letting Chris go. “Ada can wait. Your sister– this is what you’ve been looking for. A clue,” Leon smiled. “You even have the address, everything. Let’s write it down on some paper, hm?” the blond offered a smile and Chris nodded. They did as Leon said, and they managed to decode Claire’s message. Before they left the S.T.A.R.S. Office, Chris grabbed Claire’s red jacket and Jill’s beret. Maybe, one day, he would give it back to them. The beret fit into the holster, but he had to tie the jacket around his hips. Leon smiled at him and kissed his lips again. “If we get out… Meet me for coffee?” he asked shyly.
“Yeah,” Chris smirked and they left. Side to side, Ada noticed that there was something more between the two. She sighed, making some stupid joke, but Leon only frowned and said that they had something important to do.
When they left the station, Chris told Leon about Sherry and that he needed to find her. The blond was sad that they had to separate again, but Chris kissed him softly and promised him that he would find them. Chris didn’t like the idea of leaving Leon with Ada, but he trusted the blond and knew that Sherry needed him. Before Leon and Ada got to Kendo’s shop, Chris told him to mention him by name. He would help them faster if they said they knew Chris Redfield. Leon thanked him and they went their separate ways. The closed door by the gun shop was downed by zombies that Chris decided to kill. While going through the precinct, he found plenty of ammunition, some left behind by Leon for him.
Once he cleared the zombies, he rushed through a well–known shortcut to him. Finding himself on the other side of the shortcut, he killed some infected dogs and moved forward. Chris ran onto the basketball field, sighing at the memory of playing ball with Claire back in high school. Before leaving the field, he killed more zombie–dogs and left the field behind, along with the happy memories of the city.
The young man thought that he was stuck after he saw the car pile up, but the bus was open and Chris could only hope that the back door would be open, or that he could open them somehow. Of course, zombies were there as well. Wanting to save some ammunition in case the ugly grey guy shows up, he took out his knife and killed the two zombies inside. By some fucking luck, before Chris left the bus, he found a hand grenade.
Eventually, he got into the orphanage, hoping that Sherry was okay. He wouldn’t forgive himself if the little girl got hurt because he was too slow.
“Hello?! I have the pendant!” Chris screamed. When Irons didn’t show up, he went to the open door, running through the corridor. He jumped when Irons popped up around the corner, grabbing Chris by his shoulders.
“Your fault! Took too long!” What happened to his face? It was burned– Chris didn’t focus on him. He pushed the older man off of him.
“Get off of me!” Chris screamed.
“Damn you, William!” the man screamed, falling to the floor. Chris looked at him in horror. Was he dead?
“Jesus Christ!” he gasped and continued going through the corridor. Chris reached a room that Irons came out of and looked around the messy place. Was there a dead body of a girl? Oh fuck, it was disgusting– Irons must have killed her. Chris sighed, going to the end of the room. Sherry wasn’t there, he was late, he failed her– Chris took a deep breath in, noticing a hole and a ladder. He groaned and walked down the ladder. Chris was tired, but Sherry needed him. The mess told the young man as much. He ran through the basement, hoping to find the girl. “Sherry! Where are you?!”
“Chris!” she said with happiness in her voice.
“Sherry! I’ll be right there!” Chris said, relieved that the girl was okay. He ran toward her voice, running to her. The little girl screamed, noticing the ugly grey guy behind them. “Go, go, go!” The man rushed her and they ran, trying to escape the asshole.
“Chris! It’s behind you!” Sherry said, terrified. The young man tried not to focus on it, as he ran behind the girl. In case the ugly thing got him, Sherry would be able to run. Maybe Leon would find her–
“Don’t stop!” he told her, the heavy footsteps right behind him.
“Hurry!” Sherry cried out and they ran faster. An elevator. Bingo. Chris ran into it, grabbing the girl’s hand to make sure she wouldn’t stay behind. He clicked on the button rapidly, hoping that the door would close before that ugly thing got to them. It closed, but the ugly guy opened it. Chris felt sick. Not only did he fail Sherry, but he also failed Claire. His promise to Leon was nothing. He was going to die as a disappointment. Chris hid Sherry behind her, not wanting the girl to die. When the grey guy opened the door, he was impaled by claws, some other thing getting it. “Daddy?” Sherry said and Chris looked at her.
“What’d you say?” he asked. Once the thing killed the ugly grey dude, it threw itself at them.
“Daddy, no!” Sherry screamed as the monster brought the elevator down. Chris covered the girl, wrapping his arms around her before everything went dark. “Chris? Can you hear me? Chris…?” the man heard in and out, the darkness winning again. “Chris, you have to get up, he’s going to get us! Wake up! Wake up!” Sherry said with fear in her tone.
Chris didn’t know how much time had passed before he heard fingers snapping. “Wake up. Wake up,” he heard a woman’s voice as he opened his eyes. “Open your eyes. Hold still…” she said, and Chris groaned. “Not infected,” she commented, and the man looked around, confused.
“Sherry…?” he asked, looking for the girl. “Where’s Sherry?!” Chris asked, getting up slowly.
“Sherry… Sherry’s fine,” the woman said.
“Do you know Sherry?” he asked, his head still woozy. The woman was mumbling something to herself, completely ignoring Chris. “Who are you? I’m Chris,” he tried, but she didn’t answer. Chris tried again, wanting to know where the hell Sherry was.
“What?” the woman finally paid attention. “Oh, Annette. Do you know what happened to William?” William? Who the hell was William? Irons mentioned him, but– Wait, was that thing that killed the ugly grey guy?
The whole conversation was pointless. The only thing that Chris found out was that Annette was Sherry’s mom. However, the woman didn’t look sane to him, so he decided to look for the girl anyway. While looking for Sherry, he found Leon again. He was fighting off zombies in the sewers and oh, fuck, they smelled like shit. Literally. He helped the blond and Leon kissed him, apologizing once they separated.
“I don’t smell the nicest. And it had health biohazards all over it,” the blond blushed. “It’s just… I’m glad that you’re here,” the older man blushed and Chris smiled.
“This whole city is a health biohazard. What happened to your arm?” Chris asked worriedly.
“I got shot. Some blond woman shot at Ada. She would have died if I hadn’t pushed her out of the way,” he said, biting his lip.
“You– and she left you?!” Chris said with anger in his voice.
“Don’t be mad. She’s just– she cleaned the wound and bandaged it. She has a bigger mission–”
“Ada Wong is full of shit,” Chris said, interrupting Leon. “I know that you want to believe in her, but– If she was the real FBI, wouldn’t she call fucking back–up?” he tried to reason, but Leon shook his head.
“Chris, she’s legit. Trust me,” the blond said softly.
“I trust you. I don’t trust her,” Chris’ lips formed a thin line. The two decided not to elaborate on it, not wanting to argue. Eventually, they found Sherry, and surprisingly, Ada.
They solved the weird chess puzzle and fought William before they got to the woman and the girl. Chris rushed to Sherry’s side, the girl breathing heavily. Fuck, she was infected. No, no, no, no, no!
Annette mentioned something about a lab and Ada told Leon about the NEST. Maybe they could–
“Chris, breathe,” Leon said, touching his shoulder. “Ada has a bracelet that is needed to get into the cable car. We can help her, okay?” the blond whispered and Chris nodded. He looked at Ada, who managed to walk on her own. They got into the cable car and Chris put Sherry down, sitting down next to her. The girl’s head rested on his thigh and Leon kneeled next to them, introducing himself to her and trying to make the girl smile. Once he achieved that, he moved to start the cable car up. They moved, the course set automatically. Leon smiled and told Sherry he would be right back. The blond talked to Ada, who tried to kiss him, but he moved away with a frown, glancing at Chris. That fucking bitch–
Chris’ thoughts were stopped by Sherry’s grunts and shivers. He bit his lip, touching Claire’s jacket. It was dirty, but so were all of them. He took it off and helped Sherry to put it on.
Eventually, Leon and Chris had to separate again. The younger man focused on helping Sherry, while Leon and Ada went for the T–Virus. Before they separated, Chris asked Leon to keep in mind what he told him earlier.
After what felt like hours, he managed to help Sherry and meet with Leon, who looked devastated. When they got onto the train, the blond told him that he was right about Ada. Chris wanted to answer, but something hit the train.
It turned out to be William, the ugly not wanting to die. Leon managed to kill it and jumped back to them before they lost the cart. Chris kissed Leon, the heat of the moment getting over them. When they got out, they held Sherry’s hands.
They got to a motel and cleaned up. While Sherry was showering, they kissed some more. Then, Chris showered, and Leon took a shower as last. In their room, there were two beds only, so Chris and Leon slept on one bed.
Chris decided to follow after Claire, hoping that she was still in France. He didn’t want to leave Leon and Sherry behind, but the men knew that Sherry needed peace, not more of this bullshit. The blond decided to stay with her, promising Chris they would be waiting for him.
“I’m holding you onto that coffee,” Chris smiled and left the room.
He didn’t find Claire, but his older sister found him on Rockfort Island. The young man was relieved to see her, but surprised when she called Leon a government agent. None of that was mentioned in their letters, though Leon’s letters were always in some kind of code… He supposed he would have to ask him the next time they saw each other.
Now, he had to focus on getting himself and his sister off of the island. They had a lot of catching up to do.
Chris wished Steve survived. He seemed like a nice kid.
