Chapter 1: 1.

Chapter Text

Juntae only recently downloaded tiktok, maybe a month ago, and all he’s been seeing on his feed is couples pranking each other. He always ends up sending them to Sieun, telling him how fun it would be to try them on someone, and now that he has a boyfriend of his own, he can actually do all of them.

The fact that Gotak doesn’t have the app totally makes everything more exciting.

They’re both lying on the couch as Gotak watches the tv while Juntae leans against him, scrolling on his phone when one of those prank videos makes its way to his for you page.

He’s quick to turn his volume down before Gotak can pick up on what’s being said, thankfully there’s subtitles so Juntae can easily tell what’s happening.

Juntae quietly giggles to himself as the girl asks her boyfriend for permission to eat in front of the waiter, taking note of how flustered the guy gets. That’s when he remembers the new restaurant that just opened up not too far away from his house.

He perks up at the idea of recreating the video and throws his phone down next to him, startling Gotak in the process.

“You okay, Jun-ah?” Gotak asks, immediately pausing whatever's playing on the screen.

“Do you remember when I was telling you about that new food place that just opened up like ten minutes away?”

“The one with that tteokbokki you said you wanted to try? Yeah I remember, what about it?”

“When do you think we can go?” Juntae pouts but he knows exactly how his boyfriend will respond.

“Let’s go right now, it’s not that late so we have time.”

“Really? You’re the best, Tak-ah.” Juntae leans over to peck him on the cheek before getting ready to head out, a grin plastered on his face.

…

The second they get there, Gotak holds the door open for Juntae to walk in first, grabbing his hand once they’re both inside and he leads them over to an empty table near the back of the building.

“It’s so cozy here, I’m glad it isn’t too crowded." Juntae beams as he looks around, at least this way Gotak won’t get too embarrassed after he pulls the prank on him, Juntae isn’t that mean.

“Mhm, yeah me too.” Gotak responds as he passes a menu over to the other boy, "What do you think I should get? Everything sounds so good.”

“Hmm, why don’t you get the fried chicken, you can send a pic to Baku and make him jealous.” Juntae laughs thinking about Baku complaining that Gotak was eating chicken at a place that wasn’t his.

“You’re evil, Jun-ah.” Gotak chuckles along with him, “Good idea, I’ll do it, You know what you want right?”

“Yep, you can call over one of the waiters.” Juntae smiles innocently as he watches the other raise his hand to get someone's attention, Gotak has no idea what he has planned.

It doesn’t take that long for someone to take notice of them, heading over to their table to take their order, “Hello, what can get for you guys?”

“I’ll have the fried chicken, please, and—”

Juntae puts his plan into action, cutting Gotak off, “Are you sure it’s okay I get something?”

Gotak’s head snaps towards Juntae, “What? Of course it is, you’re the one who asked to come, Jun-ah.”

“It’s just the last time we went out… you know.” Juntae looks off to the side, if he stares at Gotak’s face any longer, he’s sure to break character.

“What are you talking about? What do you mean last time?" Gotak laughs awkwardly and Juntae takes note of the waiter looking between them as well as someone from a table not too far away.

“Rememeber? When you told me I shouldn’t order anything?”

“Should I give you guys a minute?” The waitress asks, clearly wanting to get out of the situation.

“No.” Gotak answers sternly, not taking his eyes away from Juntae, “Tell her you wanted the tteokbokki.”

Juntae doesn’t even get the chance to say anything back before Gotak’s speaking again, this time actually looking at the waitress, “He’ll take the tteokbokki with some sides as well.”

“What sides?” The girl reluctantly asks.

“All of them.”

They both watch as she leaves to go put their orders in before turning to look at each other.

“Are you crazy?!” He whispers across the table, “Do you know how expensive that’s gonna be?”

“No, are you crazy?! Why the hell would you do that?” Gotak asks and now that Juntae’s actually looking at him, he can see how red his face is.

It’s such a funny sight seeing his boyfriend so flustered, he can’t help but laugh.

“Stop it, that wasn’t funny!”

“It was so funny, Tak-ah! You should’ve seen your face.”

“Aish, that was so embarrassing.” He hides his face in his hands, not even wanting to look around to see if anyone else saw, “Never do that again.” Gotak grumbles as he slumps into his seat, a frown on his face.

Gotak has no idea what’s in store for him.
