At Brook and Franky’s wedding, Luffy manages to catch the bouquet, immediately telling himself that this is probably the best way to be able to marry someone who actually wants to be with him. During the entrance, he therefore begins thinking about the person who could be the ideal partner for him, quickly going through the people he knows before having a revelation that seems perfectly logical to him. He then announces in front of everyone that the next wedding will be Zoro’s and his, causing general silence and especially Zoro’s astonishment, who was not even aware that they were engaged.
Starting from the principle that marrying his best friend is necessarily a good thing, Zoro eventually accepts this idea without really trying to understand how they managed to go directly to announcing their wedding. He then spends the following year thinking about what they could do for their union, while Luffy has only one real request: an all-you-can-eat buffet where nobody risks running out of food. For the rest, he does not care at all, to the point of considering that the best thing would simply be to take the first town hall they find, have a quick ceremony, then invite their loved ones to an all-you-can-eat restaurant to celebrate.
The two of them eventually consider this to be the best idea possible and only warn their friends three days before the ceremony that they will have to prepare a nice outfit for the occasion. Despite the particularly short notice, everyone eventually manages to be present on the day. They are also lucky that the ceremony is not very long, quickly allowing Zoro and Luffy to kiss in front of their loved ones. Several people then begin wondering if they have not secretly loved each other for years, especially seeing how much pleasure they take in kissing each other, but neither of them tries to explain anything. They simply enjoy their wedding before heading to the restaurant.
The rest of the day is obviously dedicated to their real priority: eating absolutely everything they can. They enjoy the buffet so much that they eventually become unable to walk properly when leaving the restaurant, considering despite everything that this day was a complete success.
Zoro and Luffy do not yet know if they will remain married for their entire lives, but for now, they are happy together and have no desire to be with anyone else. In their eyes, a happy marriage does not necessarily need to be based on particularly strong romantic feelings. They are best friends, enjoy their daily life together and feel sufficiently good in this relationship not to need to look for something different.
