Work Text:
Craig Tucker is an asshole.
Craig is a stuck-up, self righteous, violent, uncaring asshole. Or, at least that's what everyone belives.
What he believes.
Sunlight was glaring through his window, peaking through half open blinds, warming his sprawled out body - his blanket long since having been kicked off in his annoyance from his alarm blaring in his ears at 7:whatever in the morning waking him from his dreams of the cosmos.
It's always the same thing, or something akin to it. Wordlessly, aimlessly wandering a foreign planet, searching for something he's unsure of. Something he doesn't know when he'll find, something missing. That - or the view of Earth, which he can only imagine from images he has on his walls from NASA, while he is floating in the space outside, slowly falling into orbit like he's just a rouge space rock or broken satellite. He revels in the fact that no one would ever be able to see the shit hole that is South Park from all the way up there, feeding his complex that nothing he does, will ever mean or amount to much.
Craig's dream induced spiral is interrupted by one of the most aggravating voices he's ever heard.
"CRAIG! We have to be at the bus stop in- 10 minutes!!" His little sister, Tricia practically screeched at him from his doorway. "Get your ass up before I'm late." She groaned dramatically before rushing downstairs to wait for him.
School is a drag.
If Craig had a list of things he loathed the most in this god-forsaken town, every year, time and time again it proves to be School. Which is why, he ignores his friends incessant droning on about bullshit he doesn't care about; sports, plays, grades, girls. Opting instead to stare, in Jimmy's words, "stoically" out the window of the school bus, cheek pressed onto cold, frosty glass, making his face go pink from the chill.
It's only once his Algebra 2 teacher, uses him as an example of someone not applying themselves, first thing in the morning, that he decides the only option is throwing himself into the frozen over Starks Pond is the only option for him.
