Lymielle couldn’t help but groan over the never-ending class works that seemed to never stop pouring out. Her desk was buried beneath worksheets, notebooks and half-finished assignments, not only that, exams were just right around the corner. While the ticking clock on the wall only seemed to tease her about how little time she had left.
She glanced towards her window, she couldn't wait for all this to be over and finally be able to read her precious fanfictions.
Just as she was about to return to doing her homework, a faint fluttering sound caught her attention.
Lymielle slowly looked up. Then, boom !!!
Her magical cat (she totally is not allergic to) was floating outside her window, its little paws gently flapping as it hovered in the air. Between its teeth was a small envelope, neatly sealed with a familiar red and blue ribbon.
She carefully took it from her magical pet and began to read its contents…

Dear Lymielle,
Honestly, I cannot stress enough how much I truly am grateful to call you one of my closest friends. You’ve been there through my lows and my highs, in the same way I hope to be in yours. All my life, I’ve longed to have a friend whom I can share very miniscule details about my life with and I am so thankful to find that friend in you. I’m truly sorry for the many messages I may spam you within a day, yapping about complete nonsense (sometimes), but just know that I’m never afraid to share those little things with you because you’re my safe place. And I hope you know how much that means to me. Thank you for being someone I can laugh with, ramble to, and simply be myself around. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully put into words how grateful I am that, out of all the people I could have befriended in this school, I got to befriend you.
As you are my safe place to me, I hope that I can be that very same place for you too. I hope you know you are totally free to yap to me about everything and anything—free of any judgement. As December nears, I hope that all goes well for you, both emotionally, mentally and physically. Please don’t pressure yourself, as you are more than enough. I can see how hard you study and how much effort you put into everything you do, and I hope you remember that your worth will never be defined by your grades. I hope you know that whatever happens, I will always be proud of you.
I’m genuinely so grateful for every moment I spent talking to you. I hope that even when we eventually leave this school and life takes us in different directions, you’ll always know that there will be a part of me that is incredibly thankful that I met you in this lifetime. And so, happy **th birthday, Lymielle!
