Please don’t ever take it from me

Summary:

Wemmbu is tired of constantly being used, so he tries to kill himself, but in the aftermath of his attempt he gets to learn how to live again, under a new identity.

(The null and all following events are severely pushed back for the sake of the story.)

English is not my first language and not a language that I speak well so please excuse any mistakes.

If you have any suggestions please leave them in the comments and maybe I’ll include them.

Also if you notice any mistakes please let me know so I can correct them as I don’t have a beta reader.

Chapter 1: Goodbyes

Chapter Text

„Because no matter what I do, that big dark hole is always gonna be there, right in the middle of my chest.”

As the purple of his skin started retreating and changing for the color of washed out bone he was overcome by waves upon waves of emotions, grief, anger, guilt, depression, and the absolute certainty of his past actions washing over any relief he might have felt. And in the end of it all he was just hollow.

He had banned Arachnid sure, but that did not mean that anything would change, in the end, he was nothing but a weapon for others to command. He thought he was something, someone else, at some point, but any remainders of that person had long been lost to time.

He brought chaos, destruction, and death anywhere he went. His friends would be safer if he just ceased existing. If not for him Egg would have never been kidnapped, Rejoice would never have died, not to mention the times he had tried to kill Parrot and Flame. He truly was a lost cause. Maybe he would fling himself into the void, maybe he would choose otherwise, though he was fairly certain which he would act upon. After all that truly was the only way he would ever be free.

However he couldn’t leave without saying his final goodbyes, especially to those he cared about, they deserved to know what had happened to him even if he knew their friendship was way to good for him.

He started writing his final letters once everyone was asleep. Each book for a different person, Egg, Jaden, Flame, Cod, Yungy, and Minute, each complete with a small parting gift.

The next morning he asked Jaden to give him Lomedy’s mace so he could return it. In exchange he gave him his newest mace. He then began his journey to the first stop on his last tour.

The journey to Flame’s base was long and supplied him with plenty of time to think about everything that had happened to him the last years. Once he eventually reached his base, he noticed it had been repaired. He thought the place was act kinda cool now that he had the time to properly take everything in. He walked to the main area of the base and placed down a chest with the book and mace, aswell as a sign with (✿◠ᴗ◠) as the message. He left quickly already headed to his next destination.

I sighed as i heard the wind charges announcing the arrival of a certain idiot already expecting another weird situation he would need my help with. In all fairness I did enjoy his company even if he was loud and didn’t know when to leave something alone he had always managed to bring out a smile on my face, he was still my little brother in the end even if he had grown a lot and most certainly couldn’t be described as little anymore. What confused me however was that just as quickly as he arrived Wemmbu left again. As I walked into the main area I saw a chest and a sign. The chest wasn’t trapped and judging by the message on the sign It was clear who had left it. I walked up to the chest and opened it.

“No way,” I muttered, “My mace!”

I picked up the book to read the message that the little nuisance had left me.

Dear Flame,

Yes, that's your mace. I got it for you from Jaden. You helped me a lot so I felt like it was the least I could do. Now that you have the mace, please stop trying to ban Jaden. There is no reason to anymore. As you said “Friends don't ban each other's friends.” Anyway that’s not what this book is supposed to be about, it's more of an informing thing. In other words I know I promised that I’d fight you when I’m feeling better and maybe I will but not now. Not anytime soon. I need to think some things over and time to myself. I hope you understand and don’t fight the whole server to find me. I’m sure there are others you could fight when I’m gone. Thank you for the pearls back and you're a good brother. Thank you for everything.

Goodbye Flame.

Your brother,
Wemmbu

He’s so weird, I thought as I put the book back into my inventory and admiring the mace I hadn't had in a long time. I’ll see you when you get back, I thought even though I knew he couldn’t hear me.

The next person I was heading to was Yungy. I left a full set of enchanted diamond armour and the book in a chest. This time the message left on the sign was a simple “for Yungy”. The book went something like this.

Dear Yungy,

I know we didn’t start off on the best of terms, but I do think of you as a good friend. I’m going to miss you and the squad, but I need to be on my own for a while.
You're probably never going to see me ever again.

Goodbye, Yungy .

From Wemmbu

Next on the list was MinuteTech. I was planning on using the End to get to spawn and by extension highwater city which would be where Jaden and Codmaster aswell as, at the moment, Eggchan were. Luckily there was a filled in end portal near the cave entrance that I could use. As I jumped in I felt the scent change to the unique smell of the dimension that I had grown up in. The end would always feel like home no matter what. Anyway that's not why I was here. I flew around for a little while hoping that Minute wasn’t here. To my relief he was not on the main island. He was probably doing something out on the end islands. It was probably better this way anyway. I placed down a shulker and put the book in and some loot I had collected. I didn’t really know what to give Minute since he was so rich and had everything so I tried my best to recreate the extra gear Minute gave me during the Law war. I left the stuff there and hopped into the portal back to spawn.

When I got back from checking on the end islands the first thing I noticed was a shulker laying on the floor. I could’ve sworn I didn’t leave that there. As I opened it I saw a loot box similar to the one I had given Wemmbu however this one had a book in it. I opened the book and began reading.

Dear Minute,

Thank you for taking care of Egg when he was stuck in the End. Also thank you for all the help you gave me, specifically during the Law fight. I’m tired Minute. I can’t keep doing this anymore. I’ve lost everything that kept me playing on this server. Not even pvp is fun anymore. I need to leave and I don’t think I’m ever coming back. Please don’t look for me. I want this. It’s not your fault, it's anything from it. You were so good to me, I always saw you as a father figure, and I’m forever grateful for that.

Goodbye Minute.

Sincerely,
Wemmbu

Oh god’s, I didn’t even remember starting to cry but I was. Wemmbu was someone I saw as a friend but also a son. I’m sorry my son i knew it would have to end like this I wish I could’ve done something to help you. I stared at that book for a long time before deciding to adhere to his wish, it was the least I could do to honor his damaged soul. Egg would need someone as well, that’s what Wemmbu would have wanted.

I had three people left. Jaden and Codmaster had most likely taken egg fishing. As I went to spawn and received a couple side eyes and glares before deciding to just go invisible and fly to Highwater that way.

I managed to easily sneak around the little group of three who were seemingly having a blast fishing on the coast of what was once Highwater city and began walking to the small house Cod and Jaden had built upon the ruins. The trio were still at the coast so I decided it was now or never. I went inside and placed three chests a couple blocks apart. In one chest I placed the message and a stack of books and quills. The book reads as follows.

Dear Egg,

You were the best friend I could have asked for. Keep living without me, Egg. Always forgive and forget. There’s no one to blame for this. I’ve done so many things and I can never undo all the things I have done. I find no enjoyment on this server and it's not your fault. It never was. I love you, bro. Do what you want with the orbitals. Destroy them, leak the coords. I don't care. You and Jaden will always be my best friends and I don’t know what I would have done without you. I’m sorry it has come to this but don’t look for me please. Enjoy your time on this server. I love you so much.

Goodbye Egg.

Your Best Friend,
Wemmbu

In the next chest he put the book and a full set of blue trimmed netherite armour. The book reads as follows.

Dear Jaden,

You were the most reliable ally I ever had. You have saved me so many times and I genuinely would have long been banned without you. I know we had a rough start but I’m so glad we became friends. Continue living without me and take care of Egg for me please. I’m sorry I have to leave but I can’t be on this server anymore. I have done so many bad things and I find no enjoyment on this server anymore. I’m really sorry it has to come to this but I know you’ll do great things in the future and so will the pirates. You were a great friend Jaden.

Goodbye Jaden.

Your Friend,
Wemmbu

Aswell as a couple fishing rods surrounding the book in the middle in the last chest.

Dear Codmaster,

You were a good friend, and I loved spending time with you in the caves, but I need to leave I do not find joy in playing on this server anymore and the weight of my actions has finally caught up to me. Please be there for Egg he will need you. I’m sorry but I don’t believe that I’ll ever see you again.

Goodbye Cod

Your friend,
Wemmbu

With the final goodbyes in place it was time for me to leave. I took my fishing rod out of my inventory and pulled it bringing me to my stasis I set in the farlands.
