Star-Ridden

Summary:

The Gods of this world fail and die. A horrid fog engulfed the world as Keolei accepts their fate. A new cycle begins between life and death all over again. Restarting their journey finding their lost partner.

"Why does this always happen?" Keolei looked at the stars above hoping for a answer. All they were greeted by was the fog seeping through their mind.

Chapter 1: PROLOGUE - The Day it Began.

Chapter Text

The skies were mourning, with a greyish color perhaps. The scent of dust and after the rain filled the empty air as the Keepers or rather known as the ‘Gods’ get killed beyond the bounds of this world. Panic filled the streets as shrines mysteriously disappeared out of thin air.

The fog rolled in and consumed everything and everyone. I find that it causes a hindrance and annoyance to my mind. This was the end that everyone had supposedly ‘prophesied’. It isn’t actually the end. This was just the beginning or really, the beginning of my journey.

I could see stars, these tiny lights have kept me sane. It gave me warmth, comfort. I felt as if they were here. How many times this world shall fall anyway…

“PLEASE…HELP! MY DAUGHTER, SHE’S GONE. PLE-“ The fog had consumed the lady that had been searching for her feeble child. Quite dumb, she should’ve left everything behind. Another person had screamed helplessly as they were under the rubble.

It was amusing watching them struggle desperately despite knowing that we were all going to die in this fog.

The back of my mind was covered in mist, I couldn’t remember an important thing that someone had said to me. Even though I remembered everything and everyone that suffered or got their happy ending. I didn’t, I alone suffered through countless cycles of pain and suffering. Where did they go..I was so close to finding them. Why…WH-

The fog was coming, faster than I had imagined. Everyone, running towards the city gates. After all, there was no hope left in these people's hearts to overcome this tragedy of despair that would soon consume all. The stars that kept me to my sanity soon faded to the abyss of the thick fog and soon exploded.

I just stood there. Waiting for the time to come, and at last, it has reached me. Embedded into the fog, I couldn’t move, I could only think. My consciousness drifted off slowly, as I forgot everything that happened. I hate this. Why couldn’t I save them?. WHY. WHY. WHY. WHY. WHY. WHY. WHY. WHY. WHY. WHY. WHY. WHY. WHY. WHY. WHY. WHY. WHY. WHY. WHY. WHY. WH-

Only silence remained until my last breath. This isn’t my final goodbye. Although, the beginning of tomorrow.
