Times change, yet dreams do not

Summary:

007n7 was a known man.

Of course, his popularity came from his past days when he was still a notorious hacker.

His son was his life, he was also the biggest reason for him to change for the better.

It's not easy starting everything from scratch, yet the former hacker was able to provide for himself and his son.

Later he lost him due to some unfortunate events. That only lead to his miserable end.

It didn't stop the Spectre from throwing him into his game of endless murder though. There were people who also knew about his story.

Some knew, others knew bits and pieces.

Yet no one would've guessed what actually was the origin of the one they though knew the whole story of.

Times have changed, yet the essense remains.

In the dance between light and darkness, an identity is brought into light.

Chapter 1: This is how it began

Chapter Text

007n7

It was a name everyone knew.

Some remembered him as the notorious hacker. Other knew him as the grieving father.

There were also others, the survivors. Why would a former hacker try to be a changed man? It just didn't add up on their part. Someone who has done terrible things before tries to act as if it was all in the past?

The distrust... the cautious looks everyone threw at him when he was in sight. They tried to hide it, yet it was so obvious that even a single look would be enough to determine their view on the man.

It was natural for them to act that way. Who wouldn't if someone were in their shoes? That's what they were telling themselves atleast.

Those who had seen the former hacker in his the pasy would always be wary in his presence these days.

The day 007n7 entered their realm was the day the survivors firstly started having doubts about him. Yet those thoughts did not last for a long time.

It was a normal day for the survivors in this hellish place. That's if you count that there was no actual sun there.

All of the survivors were in the main cabin. They had just gone trough today's round.

Elliot was in the kitchen making pizza whilst Chance annoyed him.

Taph and Dusekkar sat on the couch, a conversation was flowing between them.

Builderman, Shedletsky and Guest 1337 were on the table. They were sharing details about last round's killer.

Two time was nowhere to be seen. They had left the cabin after being teleported back. The cultist would always do that whenever their death in the rounds was early. What he did in his free time is a different thing though.

And in the end there was Noob. The young robloxian was also on the couch, beside Taph and Dusekkar. He wasn't part of the conversation though, more likely just drifting into slumber.

Sleep has taken the better of him after enduring today's trials. Light snores could be heard from him and there was a blanket over his body. Dusekkar wanted to be sure that the boy would sleep without any issues.

It was... almost peaceful.

Almost.

*Thump

A loud sound, resembling the hard crash of something that was now on the floor got heard. Or should we say, someone.

It startled everyone occupying the wooden cabin.

Noob woke up.

Dusekkar and Taph stopped their conversation. Seconds later they were followed by the rest of the survivors.

The other 2 admins and the war veteran stopped their talk. All the while Chance and Elliot peeked from the kitchen.

"W-what was that?" Noob questioned with slight stuttering. He was a bit nervious, hearing a hard crash come out the living room was not an everyday experience.

No one had the ability to tell him. Surely enough, neither did the others know the answer as well.

As the survivors grouped up, it seemed like no one had dared to investigate yet.

"Uugh" The sound came from behind the couch. It sounded pained, yet at the same time there was not much emotion behind it.

The voice travelled though the group of survivors. It sounded awfuly familiar to most of them.

Suddenly, a hand reached the top of the back part on the couch.

The survivors went still. It felt as if the room itself was holding it's air. It had the atmosphere as if a dramatic event was unfolding infront of everyone.

Ironicaly enough, that was the exact context of this very moment.

Just as Guest closed the distance a bit, the figure pushed itself up. Now it was in it's full height.

The scene horrified some of the survivors, as some of them instinctively backed away. Others followed too, though they chose to make a defencive stance.

Noob hid behind Dusekkar, Taph followed and did the same.

The mage in question gripped their staff, the flame at the core of their head started burning with more intensity.

Builderman and Shedletsky moved near Dusekkar. The swordsman still had his goofy face, yet underneath it he hid his nervousness. All the while the CEO of robloxia had some mixed feelings about this situation.

With the 3 admins next to each other, they acted as a wall to shield Noob and Taph, accompanied with Elliot and Chance.

Elliot's eyes widened. Memories of the past resurfaced in his mind. And of course, those were the exact ones he tried his best to forget.

The whole atmosphere changed drasticaly. The air was now laced with thick tension. As if a single wrong move could be devastating.

For a moment, each of them forgot about the realm they were in. Only thing that mattered was to be on high alert.

The only ones who didn't look that alarmed were Guest and Chance.

The gambler noticed the expresions of the others. Some showed fear, other felt nervious. No matter from what angle he looked the situation, it was enough to tell him that the person on the other side was bad news.

Yet at the same time he was curious. So it didn't stop him to sneak in a peek at the seemingly unwelcome robloxian.

Guest on the other side had already closed half of the distance between the group and the man before him.

He felt as if something was wrong. The sudden silence was unnatural in the main cabin. The place was usually full with voices. And even if the cabin was filled with silence, there would always be someone who tried to light up the mood.

Yet right now it felt as if no one dared to say anything. It resembled the calm before the storm.

So he looked back at the rest of the survivors. The veteran quickly scanned the situation. It didn't look good. Not at all.

So he stopped, worry was visible on his face. Yet the expressions of the rest told him to back away.

He frowned. Why was the robloxian opposite to him getting looked upon as if a killer had entered the cabin? He even looked stressed dammit!

Guest didn't understand them. But something told him that there was an untold story here.

Once the momentual shock went past the group of robloxians, their attention focused more on the individual rather than their focus over the personal shares they got of him before.

First thing that caught their attention was the burger hat. It had a streak of a not so dried crimson color and was slightly tilted on one side. A clear evidense of the the floor crash.

The hat itself acted as a signature. In fact, the only robloxian to ever actively wear such a thing was now the center of attention in this room.

Though, what mattered more was the person wearing it in this moment. The survivors' attention moved on a different place this time.

His skin.

It was pale. Paler than how most remembered. The skin was as smooth and pale as fresh milk under the dim evening light.

He wore a light blue T-shirt that hung loosely on his unstable frame. On his left wrist, a heavy metal wristwatch ticked quietly, it's silver band loose against the skin. His bottom half wore brown trousers that complimented the upper part of the body.

After looking trough the details that the burger-wearing individual had, the survivors adverted their gaze towards the last place they though would have to be studied.

Whilst they were examining the one before them. Said person had already grounded himself.

With small huffs, he attempted to stabilize his breaths. A few minutes went by, yet it all felt like eternity for him. In the end, the robloxian succeeded in resuming control over his flow of breathing.

Now a new problem arose. He had no idea where he was. Neither what was happening around him at this very moment.

So the first thing the robloxian did was open his eyes. They scanned the whole room, yet the whole place was peculiar for him. The wooden walls, the floorboards. The cabin itself was an unfamilliar place for the man.

After a few seconds of looking around, his gaze stopped itself on the group of observants that studied him.

On the survivors' side, even though they were wary about the person standing before them, it was not enough to stop them from the slight worry that some felt.

His entire face was covered in crimson blood. Streams of dark red cut trough the porcelain canvas on his face. The liquid soaked his shirt into a dark shade of red and a hint of blue.

The fact he was panting heavily did not help in the situation.

Then there were his eyes.

The dark brown hair and deep eyes created a sharp contrast against his creamy, pale skin

And just like that the two parties locked eyes. His brain didn't register the others for the first few seconds. But when it did...

It hit like a truck.

The robloxian's eyes widened in shock and confusion. It was as if something stirred inside him.

Then, his body stiffened itself. He instinctively backed away, now fully aware of his surroundings.

There was now silence in the main cabin. Everyone understood that someone had to do something. Neither one of the survivors were willing to go for it though.

In the end, Guest decided to make a decision. Seeing as he was the closest to the burger-wearing individual only fueled his determination. He braced himself mentally before making his move.

"Hey, are you alright?" he suddenly asked, his voice momentarily destroying the silence.

The veteran found himself the one those brown eyes laid upon. He felt as if they were looking at every little detail on him.

The expression... the stance. The feelings that the guest showed. Yet no matter how much they digged, there was no trace of malice.

"..."

There was no answer. It seemed as if the one on the other side was still processing his rather unusual situation.

That made Guest 1337 ask a seemingly easier question. "Would you mind if you atleast tell us who you are?"

He carefully picked up his words, so as not to trouble the robloxian on the other side.

Almost everybody froze. It felt as if time itself slowed down.

"..."

The silence regained it's composure. Yet it felt like it would be broken any moment now.

"My... name?" He finally spoke. His voice was hoarse, yet it felt almost lightweight.

Then, the words no one wanted to hear made themselves heard.

"It's 007n7"

Notes:

Characters like Jane Doe and Veeronica will be added later in the story.

Also, just by reading the tags you could try to guess who 007n7 actually is.

I headcannon that everyone that enters Forsaken has died one way or another (except Dusekkar of course) which is why the Spectre made it so they have to feel the pain which the survivors experienced before being brought to the realm.

That way when someone new arrives in the realm, they may look bloodied up and with all the injuries they had beforehand. The injuries get healed of course, though the healing process is very slow.

Also, there is a chance that i have made some errors. (english is not my native langluage)
