Chapter Text
Truthless sighs as he opens the door, already knowing who it would be. The Sage of Truth had been pestering him more often than usual, coming weekly to try convincing him to come down to the village.
While most cookies in the village would feel blessed to have such an important cookie be interested in them, the Recluse despised the idea. He hadn’t been socializing this often in years. He hated it. Unfortunately for him, the Sage wasn’t planning to quit anytime soon.
Week after week, he still showed up. Flying up the steep hill and again trying to talk with Truthless Recluse. One week, he decided had enough, so he gave in. “FINE! If it’ll make you leave me alone, I’ll come.”. The Sage’s eyes lit up and he was practically glowing. He attempted to grab his arm but Truthless Recluse pushed him away, glaring. Sage of Truth wasn’t offended, he was just excited.
During that one meeting, Truthless Recluse got to know a lot about the Sage of Truth. He liked blueberries, he’s a teacher, and he enjoys writing stories in his free time. Not that the Recluse cared, he was just listening. He couldn’t help but focus on the Sage’s sing-songy voice.
Cookies around stared and whispered, out of fear or maybe even disgust. Some older cookie even screamed when they looked behind themself and saw the Recluse. He supposed that he had a not-so-great reputation around there. The Sage of Truth didn’t pay any mind to them, and neither did Truthless Recluse.
Truthless Recluse decided he wanted to leave, so he lifted up his staff. “I should leave.”
“Okay! I'll be back tomorrow. Goodbye, my Recluse!”. Truthless Recluse didn’t get enough time to be surprised before he had already teleported. Afterwards, Truthless realized he felt less tired, and maybe even in a better mood. Does the Sage have anything to do with this? He thought.
And did he just call me ‘his’ Recluse?
