The Pines Brothers have spent several weeks at sea, and they are sick of it. Nothing but water in all directions, aside from the occasional chunk of ice. Ford was starting to pick up new anomalous readings for the first time since they set out. His face lit up the way Mabel’s did when she first saw Waddles. “Stanley, look! The readings in this direction are off the charts!”
Stan sighed, pretty tired of this. “Ford, if you’re just trying to get me excited about this again, it’s not working.”
“No, just look!”
He held the device up to Stan. Indeed, the readings were very strong in one specific direction. Ford then tried to cross-reference it with a map, figuring out where it was coming from. Eventually, he figured it out. A coastal Scandinavian town called Trolberg. Stan looked exasperated. “Great. Another mystery town full of creatures that’ll eat us alive. I say we skip it.”
Ford looked offended at the idea. “Stanley, how often do you come across towns like these? I thought Gravity Falls was the only one!”
“Yeah, but is it really worth potentially risking our lives?”
“Look, we’re low on supplies anyway. We need to stock up.”
“Okay, fine. But the second something tries to kill us, we’re leaving.”
And so, it was decided. The brothers set a course for Trolberg.
