What a First Loss Does to a Man

Summary:

When Moz came to, it occurred to him rather suddenly that he had lost. And that was just not a thing he did! He was the strongest warrior in the kingdom, he was the most powerful man in the Island’s history! He didn’t lose! Not to anyone, especially not to weird men sleeping in boxes!

Or what happens when it's Tsukasa freezer instead of Hyoga's cell down in the Perseus's cargo hold.

Work Text:

It all started with that damn box.

Moz had noticed it when their forces had first captured the vessel. A giant stone coffin within a tiny room. When he lifted the lid off the thing, a cool mist drifted out and settled along the floor. Once the mist cleared, Moz peeked inside… and saw the most beautiful creature lying within it. From the pose alone, it looked as though she had been sleeping. Obviously she was stone now, but still, this goddess would’ve been a real looker were she still flesh and blood. What was she doing in this cold box? Of course, Moz immediately lost interest when he took a peek under her skirt and found that “she” was actually a “he”. So he scoffed at the statue, closed the box, left the room, and never thought anything of them again.

Until now at least.

The Invaders were in full retreat, scurrying into the depths of their vessel like rats. But there was nowhere for them to hide, not from Moz. The warrior stalked his prey slowly, relishing in the chase. They tried to stop him with a door made from their sorcery? Big deal. Two good hard kicks were enough to break it down. “Nowhere left to go, little sorcerers,” he purred.

But apparently the Invaders weren’t out of tricks just yet. Moz watched as their leader (Senku, was it?) forced open the giant stone coffin in the center of that tiny room. The box lid was lifted and cold mist spilled out of it. Then the green-haired sorcerer threw something into the box, something that shattered. A bright light shone out from within the coffin, nearly blinding Moz. When the light died down and he opened his eyes again, Senku was smirking at him. “Don’t need to run now,” was all he said.

The box lid was pushed open wider… from inside.

That man inside the box was no longer a statue. He was flesh and blood and beautiful and pushing himself out of that strange cold tomb. The man looked to the green-haired sorcerer and his allies and simply asked, “What’s the situation?”

“Keep that fucker off our asses for a little bit, will you, Tsukasa?”

“Hmm.”

Oh, so they thought that they could sic their attack animal on him and get away with it?

“You can try your luck,” Moz said smoothly to the approaching man- Tsukasa or whatever his name was. “But you haven’t got-.”

A chance in hell. That was what he’d been about to say before being sent flying into the wall.

When Moz came to, it occurred to him rather suddenly that he had lost. And that was just not a thing he did! He was the strongest warrior in the kingdom, he was the most powerful man in the Island’s history! He didn’t lose! Not to anyone, especially not to weird beautiful men sleeping in boxes! Furious, Moz pushed himself up, stumbled out of the tiny room with the giant box, and marched up the stairs. Once he reached daylight, the vessel’s deck was abuzz with activity, but not the kingdom’s. No, these were the Invaders bustling about, not even looking his way. Moz’s eyes scanned the deck until he found his target: the bastard had donned some kind of animal hide, but he would recognize that cascade of chestnut hair anywhere.

“YOU!” The man known as Tsukasa turned to face Moz. “We’re not done yet!” Spear in hand, Moz charged and aimed right at the bastard’s head.

His spear stopped dead in its tracks, caught in the other man’s hand. “No, I do believe we’re quite finished here,” he said, infuriatingly calm.

“We’re not done-.” Moz yanked at his trapped spear. “-until I say-.” Damn, how is this guy’s grip so strong?! “-that we are!”

Suddenly, he was pulled forward by his weapon and sent stumbling, losing said weapon as he went. Moz quickly recovered, and whirled around just in time to see Tsukasa bring his spear down over his knee and break the damn thing in half. “Ibara’s defeated, and your forces have surrendered. Stand down.”

The warrior’s fury mounted while watching this beautiful man toss the useless sticks aside. With a great roar, Moz leapt up, ready to connect his fist with his stupid face. But then his wrist was caught in that same grip, then Moz’s world spun around until he was flat on his back, looking up at hanging hair and dangerous eyes.

“I said stand. DOWN.”

And oh.

Oh.

Moz lay there stunned, even long after that man called Tsukasa left. People came and went, stepping over and around him, giving him odd looks; still he did not move. His eyes were starting to ache from staring up at the sky for so long; still he didn’t close them for longer than a single blink at a time. Finally Kirisame appeared in his field of vision, squinting down at him in the evening sun. “Moz? Why are you still here? There’s work to be done-.”

“Kiri,” Moz slurred dreamily. “I think I might be in love.”

….

….

“…I am not having this conversation with you.”

So the Invaders- or the “Kingdom of Science”, as they called themselves- seized control of the Island. The petrified Master was revealed and Kirisame handed over the petrifying Green Eye to the sorcerer Senku. Ibara ended up turned to stone (not quite punishment enough for all the shit he pulled over the years, in Moz’s correct opinion), and a shit ton of statues got reassembled and revived… somehow. But worst of all, the Inner Palace’s Harem was disbanded! Moz thought he’d be more upset about that, but lately his thoughts seemed to constantly circle around the one they called the “Strongest Primate High-Schooler”.

From his perch, he watched Tsukasa flit back and forth across the beach, running errands for the others or lifting heavy things. Everywhere he went it was with a small smile; nothing like the predatory glare he had given Moz the other day. The look that had haunted both his nightmares and his wet dreams for days now. Moz would be ashamed to say he had gotten himself off on the memory of Tsukasa’s eyes on him more than a couple of times… except he wasn’t. What he was ashamed of was the outcome of their battle. The other man had only won because he’d caught him off guard. But not this time. No, this time he knew what was coming, and Moz would be the one to bring Tsukasa to the floor! Then, when all was said and done, the beautiful man would be so impressed by his strength, he’d be begging for Moz to show him a good time!

Mmm, Tsukasa begging….

Ack, no! Focus Moz! Winning first, sex later!

The sound of Moz leaping down off the branch caught a few people’s attention, including Tsukasa’s. The tall, maned warrior watched him carefully as he strode right up to him. “Ready for round two?” Moz declared more than he asked while cracking his knuckles.

Tsukasa gave him a quizzical look. “Don’t you mean round three?”

“...That first one doesn’t count.”

“Ah.”

Moz was just a pace away now and… damn, was Tsukasa really that much taller than him? He had to crane his neck just to look him in the eye! Whatever, like they said… what did they say again? Something about being bigger and falling. Never mind, it was battle time. “Shall we then?”

“...Very well.” Tsukasa pulled off the animal pelt that shrouded him, and Moz was momentarily distracted by the most gorgeous chest. Chiseled abs, glistening with sweat from running around the beach, and- oh yeah, not a bad pair of pecks on him. Squeeze those babies together just right and they could practically be tits.

No. Bad Moz. Beat this bastard down, then beat yourself off.

He watched as Tsukasa dropped into a low fighting stance, fists held loosely in front of his face. Moz didn’t bother with a stance of his own; this would go much quicker when he just dealt the first and final strike. And so he did!

Or tried to at least.

Moz aimed a punch directly toward his face; Tsukasa deflected the blow and sent the Island warrior careening past him. Then Moz was swinging his leg up towards the taller man’s head; Tsukasa ducked the blow and delivered his own kick directly into Moz’s back, and the blow sent him flying. Once he recovered, spitting up sand as he leapt to his feet, Moz lost all patience and strategy. He charged forward, intending to use all his might to knock this man into the sand. Tsukasa met the charge head on, catching him by the waist and throwing him down. Once again Moz’s view of the vast blue sky was interrupted by a cascade of brown hair and a determined look in his opponent’s eyes. This time, however, his heart (and his other head) leapt a bit at the feeling of Tsukasa’s thighs straddling his own.

“You’re a capable warrior,” Tsukasa said, voice low and smooth and absolutely doing something for Moz. “But your technique is horrendous.”

What was a “horrendous”?

“We’ll be here a while yet. Feel free to challenge me again, if you so wish.”

Then Tsukasa was gone, and Moz was once again left alone with the sky and his own erotic imagination.

Moz challenged Tsukasa at least three more times that day, all to the same result. At some point the sorcerer Senku tried to give him a lecture about the “definition of insanity” or whatever; Moz’s thoughts were too full of Tsukasa to pay much attention. How it would feel to finally pin him to the ground; how it would feel to drag his hands down that lily-white chest, or tangle them in Tsukasa’s silky mane; how it would look to see that determined look shift to shy and blushing, then one overwhelmed by pleasure. But then Senku had whacked Moz on the head with a stick and told him to “stop being horny in his lab”.

He just didn’t get it. By all rights he should be winning these duels no problem, or at least things should be a little more evenly matched. Yet again and again his back was being pressed into the sand. What was he doing wrong? Whatever it was, Moz wouldn’t figure it out just by sitting around and playing with his dick (as tempting as the idea was).

And so he made his way down to the beach again that evening, and found Tsukasa there, by himself this time. He watched the maned man wade in the surf, occasionally bending down to pluck up something from the water. Moz couldn’t tell what it was the other man was collecting; he kept getting distracted because Tsukasa didn’t have his cloak on and it left the tightest ass on full display every time he bent forward. Eventually Moz had to make his presence known though, so he did with a clearing of his throat. Tsukasa jumped the tiniest bit at the noise, and Moz tried not to revel in the small victory too much as the other man turned to look at him. “Oh, it’s you,” Tsukasa said. “I’m afraid I can’t humor you tonight.” The maned man restarted his stroll through the waves. “It’s been a long day, and I would like my rest.”

“You’re just scared that I’ll actually beat you this time,” Moz scoffed, hands resting on the back of his head as he matched his pace with Tsukasa’s meander.

“Hmm, I highly doubt that would happen. Better warriors than you have tried.”

“Better?!” Moz stepped in front of Tsukasa, cutting off his chosen path. “I’m the strongest man this Island’s ever seen, a fucking battle genius! I’ve never lost to anyone-!”

“Except me?” Tsukasa laughed, and fuck, why was his heart getting all fluttery at the sweet sound? “Well then, I’m honored to be your first.”

Well, that had certainly gotten him sputtering.

Tsukasa was about to side step him, but Moz, who was having none of that, held out an arm to stop him. “Okay, smartass, you gonna just pull words out of your ass or are you gonna fight me?”

“Again?” The other man’s tired sigh only egged Moz on. “I just said-.”

“Just one more time! This time for sure!” Moz said that mainly for himself to hear.

Two pairs of brown eyes met and Tsukasa held his gaze for a long moment. Then the other man sighed once more. “Fine, hmm.”

Moz watched Tsukasa trudge out of the surf and back onto the beach proper; he placed a handful of trinkets gently in the sand, then turned to face Moz again. “Feet shoulder width apart, knees bent, fists in front of your face.”

“What?”

“Just do it.”

And so he did. “Like this?” The stance felt so unnatural to Moz, so stiff. But he did feel stronger like this.

Tsukasa circled him, eyeing his form up and down. Then hands were on him, shifting Moz ever so slightly this way and that. For a warrior, Tsukasa’s hands were surprisingly soft. Moz thought he’d overheard the sorcerer Senku talking about it at one point; how the “depetrification process not only healed wounds, but left the entire body unblemished too”. He tried leaning into the touches, only to be shifted back into the position of Tsukasa’s choice. Eventually Tsukasa pulled away and Moz immediately missed the warmth. “There, better,” he hummed. “Keep your fists in front of you, that’ll help to guard your face. When you do strike, bring yourself back to this position right afterward.” He felt a foot nudge on his own. “Since you’re right handed, you’ll want your left foot forward a bit.”

“This feels weird,” Moz admitted.

“Learning new skills often feels weird at first.”

Ew. Learning.

“Do I have to?”

“You can’t call yourself a battle genius and not bother to hone your craft.”

Moz wanted to argue, he really did. But then Tsukasa was giving him that soft smile he’d seen on him earlier and something in him just caved. “Fine.”

Tsukasa stepped in front of him and assumed the same stance he’d prodded Moz into. However, his palms were now out and facing Moz. “Quick jab right, quick jab left, rinse and repeat.”

Moz did as he was told; he connected his right fist with Tsukasa’s right palm and drew it back, then did the same on the left. Over and over again. The whole thing felt so awkward at first, like letting a toddler take swings at you and Moz was the fucking toddler. But then the more time that passed, the faster he got, and the more force he could apply to each punch. Tsukasa eventually grinned and declared he was done. Moz barely had time to celebrate before Tsukasa gave him more to do. Different jabs, and kicks too, and a bunch of stretches that pulled at muscles Moz didn’t even know he had. The sun had long since set by the time they were done with training, and Moz was exhausted. He collapsed onto the beach, panting up at the stars. Then, just like before, there was Tsukasa looking down at him.

“You alright there?”

“I think… I may be… be dead,” Moz managed to gasp out.

Tsukasa’s little giggle brought some energy back to him. “You did good work tonight.” Moz felt a soft tap as the other man placed something on his chest. It was a shell. Absently Moz brought a hand to his chest, taking the little shell and holding on weakly. Then Tsukasa disappeared from his sight. For a brief moment Moz thought he’d just left him here, but the sound of shifting sand told him that Tsukasa had laid down beside him.

“I just realized,” Tsukasa said after a few minutes of silence, “I never actually caught your name.”

“It’s Moz.”

“Moz. Like Mozu? Like the bird?”

Moz felt himself flush. On one hand, hearing Tsukasa say his name like that was just pure sex to his ears. On the other hand, damnit, of course this gorgeous being would figure out what his name actually meant. “Yeah yeah, laugh it up,” Moz scoffed. “The big shot warrior’s named after a dainty little songbird.”

“No no, I think it quite suits you.” Moz tilted his head towards Tsukasa, who was already looking back at him, smiling. “Besides, I’d hardly describe a bird known for impaling its prey on branches as “dainty”.”

“Wait, mozus do that?”

“Yes. I’m surprised you didn’t know.”

Moz nodded and grinned as he took in this new fact. “Awesome.”

Tsukasa chuckled, and wow, Moz really could listen to that sound all day.

Senku made the announcement in the morning; one week remained until the Perseus would set sail for the mainland.

Which confused Moz a bit because wasn’t this the mainland?

But he digressed.

In other news. Kohaku was broken out of the stone. Rather she had been a few days back, but Moz didn’t really care at the time. To be honest, he’d lost all interest in the feisty blonde after their battle. But Moz started to care a little bit more now that Kohaku had been following him around with murder in her eyes all. Day. Long.

“What do you want from me, woman?” Moz finally snapped at the blonde. “I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I’m not in the mood for spars or sex.”

“Just what game do you think you’re playing?” Kohaku snapped back.

“I am literally just walking-!”

“I mean with Tsukasa.”

Oh. That’s what she was talking about. “Why, you jealous? Or is he your boyfriend?”

Kohaku’s face turned bright red and her eyes went impossibly wide. “T-that’s not-!”

“Well, why didn’t you say so?” Moz continued to tease. It was the least this bitch deserved for burning the evil eye into the back of his head all day. “Don’t worry, I can share. I wouldn’t mind having both of you cuties sucking-.”

A swift kick to his groin silenced Moz.

“Shut up!” Moz collapsed to the ground and Kohaku sneered down at him. “For your information, Tsukasa has no romantic interest in me and I have none for him!” That was good to know, Moz thought weakly through the nauseating pain. “What does concern me is your influence on him. He’s already in an… emotionally vulnerable position, and the last thing he needs is the affections of some dastardly man-whore like you!”

“...D-damn,” Moz groaned weakly. “Really letting me have it, huh?”

“You should consider yourself lucky I haven’t made you a eunuch!” The blonde warrior leaned down. “I’m only going to say this once: STAY AWAY FROM TSUKASA.” And with that, Kohaku delivered another hard kick to his nuts and left him to writhe in pain on the dirt.

“...Bitch.”

“Again.”

He did it again.

“Wrong. Again.”

“Okay, what am I doing wrong?”

“That’s not the stance I showed you.”

Finally fed up, Moz kicked the sand with a growl. “Who gives a shit about the stance?!”

“I do. And if you wish to continue training with me, I suggest you start “giving a shit” as well!”

Yeah, fuck this, he was done. Moz turned to storm off.

“Wait.”

A hand grabbed his wrist. Moz looked down at Tsukasa’s hand, then up his arm until finally settling on his face. The other man’s eyes were wide with worry, but the second eye contact was made, Tsukasa glanced away. “I’m sorry,” he said, cheeks turning the lightest shade of pink. “We can take a break, just… don’t go.”

…Ah hell, how was he supposed to say no to that face?

“Fine,” Moz sighed as he pulled his wrist free and found a seat on the sand. “You’re lucky you’re cute.”

He reveled in the sight of Tsukasa’s cheeks going from pink to red. “O-oh. Hmm,” the maned man hummed, sitting down beside Moz a little too quickly.

“Aww, what’s the matter, Cutie? Can’t take a little compliment?”

That flush deepened. “Please don’t.”

“Don’t what?” Moz continued to tease. “Call you Cutie? I’ve got other names if you’d like.”

“Moz.” Gods, the beautiful man couldn’t even face him now!

“Yes, ‘Kasa? Tsu? Baby? Kitten? Sexy? Ooh, how about Sugartits?”

Tsukasa’s head snapped around, hair whipping in the breeze. “W-well, what if I started calling you Birdy?!”

Moz froze. Birdy? Where had that come from? And why was it making his face heat up?

He hesitated, and that’s when Tsukasa suddenly regained his confidence and pressed the advantage. “What’s the matter, Birdy? Can’t handle what you dish out, Birdy?”

With nowhere else to retreat to, Moz put his ever-reddening face in his hands. “Please stop,” he groaned.

“If you insist on continuing on with your nicknames, then I get to keep “Birdy”.”

Moz dared to peek through his fingers and… wow, this was nothing like the small smiles he’d seen on Tsukasa before. This gorgeous sight was all white teeth and laughter, and the same joy behind that grin actually seemed to reach his amber eyes for once. …Well, there were worse deals, and worse names than “Birdy”.

“I guess it’s a deal, Baby.”

Just as long as he could keep seeing that smile.

“So….”

“So…?”

“I’m rather surprised by your choice.”

Moz turned to look at Kirisame. “I thought you said you didn’t wanna talk about it.”

“I don’t want to hear about how you’re lusting after people.” Kirisame’s expression softened out of her usual grimace. “But this… I’ve never seen you like this about another. It’s different this time.”

…Now that Moz thought about it, it really was, wasn’t it? He wasn’t even sure what to call this thing between him and Tsukasa. They trained, they fought, they flirted, they sat in comfortable silence. Moz thought he was no stranger to love; as a matter of fact, he had several women that could back his claims. But this… these were brand new waters Moz found himself in.

Sure, there were the usual fantasies that dwelled in his mind when thinking of Tsukasa, and he’d still absolutely love to show the other man a good time if given the chance. But now new fantasies were drifting about his mind, softer ones. Just laying on the beach like they had on that first night; coming home after a hard day to a hot meal and a warm embrace; sharing jokes and laughing together; soft and slow kisses that stayed soft and slow. The Moz from a week ago would’ve thrown up at how sickeningly sweet the whole thing was, but the Moz of right now wanted it more than anything. He wanted all of that and more, and with Tsukasa.

But it would all be over by tomorrow, wouldn’t it? The Invaders had done all they wished to do on the Island; harvested the mythical Treasure Box, taken the Green Eye- or the Medusa as it was called now, depetrified everyone that they could, and built their fancy sorcery tower. In return for the trouble the Invaders had promised a festival tonight, but that was it. The Perseus would be casting off tomorrow and taking Tsukasa with it.

“If I may,” Kirisame said. “However it is you feel about him, tell him tonight. Otherwise I’d hate to see how you are while wallowing in regret.”

Right. Tonight. It had to be tonight. But first, Moz would have to do the impossible: beat Tsukasa.

If he couldn’t manage that, then how the hell was Moz going to manage asking him to stay?

The beach had been taken over by the festival, so Moz led Tsukasa to a more private spot that overlooked the shore. He prayed to whatever gods were watching that they were far enough away from the crowd; the Island Warrior could still hear the faint murmur of voices, and those weird ice lamps the Invaders brought with them were bright as hell. “Well, here we are,” Moz announced, suddenly sweating like a pig. “Thanks for spending your last night humoring me.”

“My pleasure,” Tsukasa replied, also unable to make eye contact. “Here.” Then the maned man had chosen a spot to sit, legs dangling off the cliff’s edge. “Yes, this should be a good spot.”

“A good spot for what?”

“You’ll see soon enough, Birdy.” Tsukasa patted the spot next to him, and who was Moz to refuse? Once he sat, yeah, he could see why this spot would be good. The ice lamps did nothing to disrupt their view of the ocean, the moon’s reflection rippling in the calm night waves. “It’s a beautiful Island. It must’ve been nice to grow up here.”

You’d know if you decided to stay here with me, Moz desperately wanted to say. He should say that, tell Tsukasa how beautiful his home was, how it was a great place to live! But… then he’d be lying, wouldn’t he?

“Meh,” Moz finally shrugged. “Ain’t all it’s cracked up to be.”

“What do you mean?”

“You wouldn’t get it. Sure, people like you well enough, or at the very least respect the fact that you could kick their asses from one side of the Island to the other. And of course the ladies all love you. But eventually you notice how… off everyone is around you.” Suddenly the frustration was too much for Moz to tamp down. “Like, to them you're just the big-shot warrior, or the best sex they’ve ever had, and after a while-.”

“People become more interested in what you are rather than who you are.” Moz finally looked at Tsukasa. “And then you’re placed so high above everyone else that no one can possibly reach you.” Two pairs of brown eyes met and had an understanding. “I think I have some idea what that’s like.”

“...Yeah,” Moz breathed. “I believe it.”

BANG!

The first noise nearly sent Moz careening over the cliff in shock. Fortunately Tsukasa caught him by his waist, and held him close as the next explosion rang in his ears. Then Moz finally looked up. Flowers. There were flowers blooming in the sky right before his eyes! White stars shot up from some place on the beach below, then erupted into vibrant reds and greens and blues. When one sky flower wilted away, another took its place, and then another and another after that and-!

“What are those?” Moz finally asked.

“We call them fireworks.”

Fireworks.

He liked that word.

Tsukasa pulled him closer and Moz leaned back into his shoulder as the fireworks continued to dance across the sky.

Eventually no more sky flowers bloomed. White smoke billowed and drifted away and the applause from the beach below reached all the way to their cliff. So that was the end of the Invader’s Festival, huh? Now all that was left was….

He pulled away from Tsukasa’s warmth and stood. Before the other man could question it, Moz found an even spot on the cliff and assumed the stance he’d spent an entire week getting used to. “Just one more time,” he said. “This time for sure.”

Tsukasa understood immediately.

The duel began soon after, and thirty seconds in, Moz had survived far longer than he had the previous times. Rather than dive in for a swift victory, the Island warrior put himself on the defensive, dipping and dodging Tsukasa’s blows one after another. But he was far from passive, getting in a few good jabs of his own, though Tsukasa’s defenses were proving to be air-tight. There must be a chink, Moz thought. His eyes wildly scanned his opponent, searching for that one chink.

There!

Moz threw a wide-swinging fist at Tsukasa’s face, missing on purpose. The maned man balked back, and that’s when Moz grabbed him by his kilt and threw the full weight of his body into Tsukasa. The second Moz felt the both of them hit the ground, he took up Tsukasa’s wrists and pressed them above his head. It wasn’t until he was looking down at the beautiful man, panting with his legs firmly planted on either side of Tsukasa’s hips, that Moz registered his victory.

“I did it,” he breathed out.

“You did it,” Tsukasa panted back.

“I did it!” Moz laughed loud, fists raised in the air now, not giving a shit who heard him, because he had WON! “I won! Ha ha! In your stupidly beautiful face, Babe!”

…

He’d said that last part out loud, hadn’t he?

Moz looked down; Tsukasa was staring back, wide-eyed and flushed pink.

Now was as good a time as any, right?

“Tsukasa-.”

But Tsukasa already had him by the shoulders and was pulling him down and-!

Wow, even his lips were soft.

Moz groaned into his first kiss with Tsukasa, who sighed in turn.

At some point they both pulled away for air, only to dive right back in. Moz ran a hand through Tsukasa’s mane, and it really was as silky smooth as it looked. Meanwhile Tsukasa had a death grip on his shoulders, and even those powerful legs of his came up to lock around Moz’s waist. The action ground their hips together, and both men were pulling away from the kiss to groan in unison.

“You ever done this before?” Moz panted out the question. “This” being emphasized by him reaching down and palming at Tsukasa through his skirt. The other man's hand flew to his mouth to muffle the resulting moan. “Have you?” Moz asked again, and Tsukasa shook his head just a little too fast, face bright red behind his hand. The Island warrior smiled as he pressed their foreheads together. “Well then….” Moz brought his lover’s hand to the ground beside his head, interlacing their fingers. “I’m honored to be your first.”

“And so you two did the special snuggles aaaaaalll night long?”

“Yeah. “Snuggles”. Whatever you say, Cub.”

Mirai squealed, a shrill sound that was thankfully muffled by her pillow. “And then what happened, Mozu-nii?”

Yeesh, that was going to take some getting used to. But hey, it would be worth it. “Well,” Moz smirked. “After an hour of begging on his knees, I finally said I’d go with him.”

“Moz~.” Tsukasa sat down beside him, three mugs of something called “hot cocoa” in his hands. The beautiful man- his beautiful man- gave a mug to his little sister with a smile; Moz’s was served alongside a rather pointed look.

“Alright, fine,” Moz caved instantly, “I begged him to let me come with him.”

“And I’m thankful everyday for it, Birdy.” Tsukasa pecked his cheek, and Moz felt a smile stretch across his face all on its own.

“But anyway, that’s how I met your brother.”

“Aww,” Mirai cooed at the pair of warriors. Then her attention turned to the face with the pointing arrow over on the back wall. What was it called again, a clock? “Oh, it’s almost time!” Moz watched the little lion girl gulp down her cocoa and scramble to the door. “I promised Suika and Shovel I’d help them make shell necklaces!”

“Don’t let us keep you then,” Tsukasa laughed, leaning into Moz’s side.

“Bye, Tsu-niichan! Bye, Mozu-nii!” Then Mirai was out the door.

“So… just us now,” Moz purred in his lover’s ear, and he delighted in how Tsukasa shivered. “What do you wanna do?”

“Hmm,” Tsukasa hummed back. “I would like to finish my cocoa before it gets cold.”

But Moz was already setting down his mug and reaching for Tsukasa’s. “Aww, come on, Baby, I’m sure it’ll still taste fine cold.” Tsukasa leaned back, holding his cocoa as far as possible from Moz’s reaching grasp, maybe not quite realizing that the move left his neck wide open for an assault of kisses.

“Noooo,” Tsukasa bemoaned, but still laughed and sighed at each kiss planted. “Moz, have some patience! I spent far too long figuring out how to remake cocoa in this age-.”

“And you can always figure it out again,” Moz mumbled into his neck. At this point he’d completely forgotten about grabbing the mug and was just making himself at home in the crook of his lover’s neck. Mmm, a hickey right here would look just delicious on him-.

One of Tsukasa’s large hands planted itself against Moz’s chest, and that was all it took to push him to the floor. Moz’s view of the ceiling was interrupted by cascading hair and a determined look.

“I said cocoa. First.”

And oh.

Oh.

“You know this is not helping me be patient, right?”

Tsukasa glanced down, where Moz was fully aware of the tent in his kilt. “Obviously.” His lover leaned down to peck a kiss on the tip of his nose. “But if you’re good and can wait, maybe there’ll be something extra special for you in turn. Think you can do that for me, Birdy?”

OH!

“I suppose this cocoa stuff is good for now.”

“Good boy.”

Tsukasa finally leaned back to let him up… only Moz didn’t move. Instead he continued to stare at the ceiling, blindly reaching for his cup while his imagination ran wild. What could he say? The view of his lover above him still did as much for Moz as the view of him beneath.
