It was a light night in Musutafu, Japan. Izuku Midoriya was the #1 ranked hero in the country, a position he had always dreamed of. Even a slight glimpse of a crime had him sprung into action, tonight was no exception. He had heard of a new violent villain that had a habit of only striking at night, so, Midoriya being Midoriya, had to stake out. He wanted to gather evidence, see if he could find anything that may be worthy of opening a case.
Izuku stood on a rooftop of a large building surrounded by plenty others, it was quiet, all you could hear was quiet chatter from bar alley ways, and the soft breeze passing your ears. He stood there, watching, looking for a sign if something, anything, he could connect dots with. He chose an area near the villains current attacks, he was afraid if he went to a more likely area, the villian would assume hes being watched and choose another, so he staked out nearby.
“Deku.”
Midoriya shivered, he had completely forgotten about the tall blonde alongside him the past couple hours. Katsuki bakugo, just a slight gap of rank between them, only because of bakugo’s temper (which he is working on)
He glanced at katsuki, a shushing tone written all over izuku’s face.
“Its getting late, how about we come tomorrow?” Katsuki exclaimed.
Midoriya huffed, “Kaachan, what are the chances we leave and he strikes again? We cant miss this.”
“Deku, the reports all say the attacks happen around an earlier time them now.” Katsuki raises his phone, 1:00 AM written on the screen. “Lets come back later, he probably knows we’re well on his tail by now, Sero will take the late shift.”
“Just a little while longer,” a look of certainty on Midoriya’s face. He was determined to catch something.
Katsuki grunts, resting his head on the ledge of the building.
Hours pass, katsuki glances at his device, 3:15 AM. He looks toward izuku, ready to bite at him for keeping him up so late, except its not izuku keeping him, its his pride, how could he let someone so meaningful stay up so late for something so important to him without being there. So, he listens to Izuku, and he sits there, watching every now and then to see if he can spot anything as well.
He slides his gloved hand over izukus clenched fist, “Can we go home now?”
“Kaachan-“
“Its getting later, baby.” Katsuki lifts his mask up, pulling his front hair slightly back along with it.
Midoriya sighs, laying his back on the building ledge, “you think its time to give up?”
“Alright, it is getting late, and if no other hero can find him tonight, we still have tomorrow.” Izuku grabs his things, they leave.
4:30 AM. . .
Katsuki slams open the apartment door, he grunts, a look of “finally” on his face. He closes the door as Izuku walks in, both taking their shoes off and leaving them at the mat. Bakugo takes off Izukus coat, then his, grabbing his hand and leading him toward the bedroom. They both head into the bathroom, washing their faces, brushing their teeth, and changing into their night clothes.
Katsuki sits on his designated side of the bed, scrolling on his phone and looking for updates he knows Izuku is going to rant about later if he doesnt catch them first. Izuku walks in, sliding into bed beside him.
“Sorry for keeping you up so late Kaachan, I just felt really determined to catch that guy.”
Katsuki sighed, “lets talk about it tomorrow deku, its too late for that. Besides, you know I woukd have stayed longer either way.”
Katsuki slides his hand under Izukus back, pushing him closer. Izuku moved his leg over bakugos, hovering over him.
“I know, and thank you for that”
Katsuki hums, placing a kiss on izukus cheek. Midorya kisses him, pushing his chest closer to bakugos. Katsuki rubs his hand along izukus neck,down to his back, then thigh. After the kiss, katsuki rests his head in the crook of izukus neck.
“I love you.” Bakugo grunts
“I love you too.” Midoriya sighs, eyes getting heavy.
They lay down, holding each other close. Finally getting some rest after the long and tiring uneventful day they shared.
