“You gals got any plans for the rest of the day?” Apple Bloom asked her friends after another successful cutie mark mission.
Sweetie Belle blushed. “Well, Spike invited me to go Hinny Of The Hills with him later today.”
“Ooohh~” Apple Bloom and Scootaloo teased in unison.
“Shut up it’s not like it’s a date or anything!” Sweetie Belle defended, giving her friends a light shove.
Apple Bloom gave a light chuckle. “Well, I’m gonna be busy on the farm as always. What about you Scootaloo?” she asked.
Scootaloo shrugged. “Not sure, honestly. Guess I’ll go wherever the wind takes me.”
The three teens were about to go their separate ways, when suddenly they heard a familiar voice.
“Scootaloo?”
The orange Pegasus looked up to see a familiar orange unicorn. “Gilded Lily?”
Scootaloo ran to greet her old friend. “What are you doing here?”
“Well, since I graduated from Celestia’s school, I figured I move to Ponyville to further pursue astrology!” Gilded Lily replied. “You can see the stars so much clearer here!”
Scootaloo blushed. “Heh, yeah,” she replied, feeling flustered. “M- maybe you can show me some of your favorite constellations sometime!”
“I’d love to!” Gilded Lily beamed. “Later tonight I can show you my favorite stargazing spot, if you’re free.”
“Sounds like a plan!” Scootaloo replied awkwardly. “See ya!”
Her friends gave each other a knowing look. “What was that?” Apple Bloom snickered.
“I think somepony has a crush!~” Sweetie Belle teased.
Scootaloo rolled her eyes. “Aren’t you supposed to be meeting Spike somewhere?”
Later that night, Scootaloo made her way to the hill Gilded Lily told her about, waiting for her stargazing partner. After a minute of sitting alone, she started to walk off. “She must have changed her mind,” Scootaloo thought, head hung low.
“Scootaloo! Wait!” a voice called out. Scootaloo turned around to see the orange unicorn running up the hill.
“Sorry,” Gilded Lily apologized with an awkward laugh. “I got a little mixed up with directions.”
Scootaloo smiled and let out a soft laugh in return. “That’s okay,” she said. “I’m glad you’re here.”
The two looked at each other for a moment before being interrupted by a brilliant light shooting across the sky.
“A shooting star!” Gilded Lily exclaimed. “Make a wish!”
Scootaloo just continued staring at the bright light shooting across the night sky. Gilded Lily was right, the stars in Ponyville are beautiful.
The pegasus turned to look at the unicorn. The stars looked even prettier reflected in her magenta eyes.
"Did you make a wish?" Gilded Lily broke the silence.
Scootaloo snapped out of her daze. "Oh- uh, yeah," she replied awkwardly.
Gilded Lily smiled. "Well, don't tell me what it is, or else it won't come true!" she said.
Scootaloo just stared at her as her expression fell into a tender gaze. She slowly leaned into her friend.
"It already did."
