Their backstories so you know whats different!
The main difference is with Dream and Nightmare. They both were born around the same time as in cannon (which i imagine to have been during Henery 8th’s England, close to York). The story follows up until the point where Nightmare ate the apple and attacks, he still gets corrupted mind you. But in the process he got petrified alongside Dream. Im not bothered to Explain any further. They both get freed at the same time and since they had so long to contemplate, Nightmare is less evil but still corrupted. Since they’re both six physically, Dream being mentally six as well while Night (im just gonna use Night instead of Nightmare) had the mental age of a 1500’s bitter man. A woman (oc) found them, took them in and sent them to preschool, then Primary and now, here.
Dream is every teacher’s favourite. He does his work early, tries to help out as much as he can, helps lost year 7’s, comforts someone even if it hurts (since negative emotions physically hurt him). He is also good friends with Swap and Ink and Fresh.
Night is the exact opposite. Skiving every lesson, getting into fights, scaring the younger years, calling teachers names, never has his blazer or tie. Shirt untucked all the time and turning into a puddle when he doesn’t want to do a task and just disappears. The only “friends” he has are Killer, Dust, Horror and Error. Even then Error only hangs with him because there’s the chance of receiving chocolate and skipping maths.
Fresh in this story was born in Spain but went to a trip to Australia and got the parasite after being abandoned in a forest. He got picked up by police and sent to the hospital. Turns out the parasite was an endangered species plus after controlling Fresh was willing for tests to be conducted n stuff. For some reason he was sent to England to be studied while still getting an “education” so the school is basically one big social experiment where info on him is under lock n key. Thats the main reason (other than there being Demons, fourth dimensional beings and other weird shit going on) that the government is there.
X-gaster is Cross’s dad.
Horror gets special treatment because of the gaping hole in his head (everyone thinks he has brain damage, he doesn’t, he’s just really weird).
Killer is a theatre kid.
Dust put attachment points onto his blazer collar so he can attach a hood without wearing a coat
Fresh doesn’t wear the uniform
Ink has been banned from sitting next to walls
Night is in top set (one of best classes in year group) but doesn’t act like it
The Bad’s are a “popular” group
There’s a gay club that Killer convinced the bads to go to
Captain Barnacles is head of SLT
Swap only wears his bandanna during the winter when he’s allowed to wear scarves so teachers don’t yell at him (he got in trouble in yr 7 and never forgot it)
The Octonauts are SLT members and teachers with the veggiemals being the cooks
