Underhand Soda Toss

Summary:

Immediately after the events of Across the Spiderverse, The Spot trips on an everything bagel and lands on Gwen Stacy's dad (who is apparently named George Stacy according to google)'s couch. Then some other things happen.

Notes:

I wrote this to show my sister that anything is possible if you forfeit all shame and dignity.

Work Text:

Floating over New York City, the spot watched as all of his machinations were finally coming to fruition. “Just you watch Spiderman, I will destroy everything you care about! Mwahahaha!” Then The Spot tripped on a stale everything bagel that was also floating over New York City (for some reason) and he fell into another dimension with a splat like a sad wet cat.

The Spot looked up from the couch he landed on and saw a guy who looked like a former police chief.

“I’m the former police chief,” said the guy who looked like a former police chief, “and this is not the weirdest thing I’ve seen today.”

The guy who looked like a former police chief who was actually a former police chief opened a nearby fridge, retrieved a Soda and said, “would you like a soda, Champ?”

The Spot made a noise that sounded vaguely enough like a yes that the former police chief under hand tossed the soda to him. The spot caught it, nearly dropped it, but caught ahold of it again. This series of maneuvers could be considered a miracle both because of the whole spontaneous portal thing as well as the fact that the spot used to be a scientist and was thus never very good at catching things. “Wow. Uh,” he stammered, “Thanks.” He picked at the soda tab a bit before managing to successfully open it with a little pop, and proceeded to pour the contents into his face before remembering his face was an interdimensional hole now. Who knows where that went. Soda could be heard splishing right outside the window - but knowing this city, that could also be unrelated. Sure enough, a spot appeared on the ceiling right above the former police chief and dumped soda on his head. The former police chief sighed, retrieved a towel from a cupboard and wiped himself off with it. The spot sheepishly put the emptied can on a table, where it disappeared into another hole and appeared out of yet another hole next to the bottom of the couch and noisily rolled about a foot before the spot said, “wait, what’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen today?”

-

A few weeks later, a big sparkly portal thing appeared in the living room. “I’m home, dad,” said Gwen Stacy, “so, like, the big threat thing that I was telling you about before seems to be completely gone now, which is weird, but it’s also nice because it means I can introduce you to my good friend Miles!”

Miles stepped out of the portal after Gwen, “Hi, Gwen’s dad!” he said to Gwen’s dad, who waved in response, “Also hey there, the Spot!” the Spot also waved in response. Miles turned to Gwen, “wow it’s so cool to finally see your dimension and also meet your family and also-! …wait a moment.“ Miles turned back to the Spot, who was vacuuming like everything was normal. Miles pointed at the spot. The spot dropped the vacuum and pointed back. Miles pointed with his other hand too, for emphasis. The spot pointed with his other hand as well for emphasis, but then was knocked over by Gwen, who favored punching over pointing.

“What are you doing here?” Gwen spat at the spot, “are you here to try to kill my dad, too?”

“Who ARE YOU??” said the spot.

“Oh that’s right,” said Gwen, and she put on her SpiderWoman Mask.

“SPIDERWOMAN?!?!” Said the spot, “I was never even after your dad!”

“But you were after mine!” Miles also put on his Spiderman mask and shot a web at the spot, tying him up like a idk bundle of sticks or something else that gets tied up, “and that was very uncool of you!”

“Well the joke’s on you two!” said the spot, “because I’m after neither of your dads, now!” he laughed evilly, “I’m after someone else entirely's dad!”

             “What?” said Miles.

             “What?” said Gwen.

“Oh yes!” said the Spot, “just you watch something glorious!” the Spot turned to Gwen’s dad.

“No!” said Gwen but uh she didn’t stop him I guess for like plot reasons.

A small box fell out of one of the Spot’s holes. “Pick it up,” he said to Gwen’s dad, quoting Puss and Boots and the Last Wish, his new favorite movie.

Gwen’s dad picked up the box and opened it. Inside was a ring.

“Mr. Former Police Chief whose name I still don’t know after living with you for a few weeks,” said the Spot.

“It’s Mr. Stacy,” said the former police chief, tearing up.

“Well, would you like to be Mr. The Spot and marry me?” said the Spot.

“Yes, a thousand times yes!” said soon to be Mr. The Spot.

“Wow, that was weird” said Miles, “but uh congrats?” he clapped awkwardly.

“YOU’RE PROPOSING TO MY DAD???” shouted Gwen.

The spot did a double take and stared at Gwen, “wait he’s YOUR dad??!?”

             The end.
