Work Text:

Vox wasn't very good at noticing when something was wrong.

He had headaches all of the time. He stares at screens all day, a headache is basically his norm by now.

So when he started getting one after already working for a few hours, he hadn't thought much of it and just pushed through. He wasn't going to waste medication on a little headache.

But then it wasn't a little headache.

By the time Vox realized, it had become a major migraine. His vision kept blurring and he couldn't really think straight.

"Fuck." Vox breathes, knowing that he probably should've addressed it earlier.

He doesn't even bother turning anything off as he carefully pulls himself to stand, gripping onto his desk to keep himself steady.

Fumbling for his phone, Vox grips it in his hand, squinting as he finds Valentino's contact. He keeps the message short and to the point, letting him know that Vox needs him up here as fast as possible.

As Vox begins to turn around, a wave of lightheadedness hits him. Deciding that maybe moving from where he was like this wasn't the best idea, he decides to sit back down until Valentino comes up.

"Voxxy? You still in here?" Valentino calls out softly once he makes his way to Vox's office.

He finds Vox at his desk, hunched over with his head in his hands and eyes scrunched tight. Valentino croons sympathetically as he approaches.

"Migraine, mi vida?" Valentino questions gently.

Vox lets out a brief hum of confirmation, not trusting himself to not vomit if he opens his mouth.

Valentino tsks gently, then helps Vox to stand. "Easy now. I won't let you fall," He promises.

Valentino wraps one arm around Vox's shoulder, while the other supports him by his waist. He'd offer to carry Vox, but he fears that might make things worse right now.

Gently guiding him back to their living quarters, Valentino helps Vox lay down, briefly leaving his side to dim the lights and get Vox's medicine.

Once he has Vox settled, he kisses Vox's head. "Just rest. I have everything handled." Valentino says, already canceling or rescheduling Vox's meetings.
