Confessions to the Stars

Summary:

This is a collection of poems from one of my original character's notebooks. This may or may not be a standalone series for a world that I'm planning currently. Each of these is written as if he's talking to the stars.

Notes:

Hello! I'm posting this in the hope that the premise of my world and my characters actually interests people! I just wanted to share these, because I know that someone somewhere would like this profusely, and the thought of bringing joy to someone, even if small, warms my heart. :D
The character writing these poems is not mentioned by name in any of them, but his name is Adrian Etheridge. I will likely be providing relevant context in my notes henceforth, assuming that I don't forget about this.

Please forgive my //horrible// prose and the ungodly separations of my sentences into lines; unlike him, I am no poet. Disclaimer: very few of his "poems" rhyme or make any sentence from a structural perspective.

*Please* kudos if you enjoyed it, as validation gives me life. :)

Chapter 1: sometimes, you only have an imagination of closeness

Chapter Text

Dear Stars,
Where are you when life gets hard?
You stare down at the world,
So far away and so close, all the same.
The illusion that you could ever comfort me
Is all a lie.

I suppose,
Even stars have their curses.
I must suffer in silence,
And you are bound by solitude.
You must watch, never able to
Reach the world below.
